I am not sure if clockgen would work, but I think it will...you try it and tell us.

Just got mine in and currently priming at 300fsb @ 1.50vcore. Default vcore in bios and loads to 1.50 and idles at 1.58 :)
Im pretty damn happy guys. I have to use 3:2 cos no vdimm mod on atm but after that should be changing soon
Ill keep u guys updated, but yer these 2.4C SL6Z3 are the goods imo
Cheers
ps
no screenies, my webspace is rooted :(
very very consistent oc's from these...I wonder how often they would hit 4ghz in a prommy...I thought you had a prommy creative?
......thks gouda....ClockGen works fine. I couldn't go over 292 without windows lock-ups while surfing but using this utility I am at 296 running prime............
Very consistent I think gouda :)
Ya got the mach2 here but dont want to go all the way and then be dissapointed.....know what I mean?
But trust me, Ill be sure to try it soon when I get a little bored with the current speed :D
hehehehe
sweetness...that program seems better than setfsb. I am glad it worked.
I know what you mean :D
How much of a difference is there between the machII and machI?
took a screen shot just for the hell of it, my cpu scores are a little lower than normal but thats only cause i've been running burn-in programs all night
pic
and when you guys use either of those programs (setfsb or clockgen) do you set your fsb to stock in the bios or do you continue from your highest oc?
Continue from highest OC for me and raise the vcore a little so u have some to play with :)
Nice Oc there BooYah
Hey you should try out the Multimedia Benchmark in Sandra 2004 instead....I think you'll be surprised with what happens :D.
As for those SL6Z3s......DAMN I gotta get me one of those. Should be able to 3DMark at 300 on air.
BOOYA, PUREBOOYA! What creative said is exactly what I was told...and I would deffinately trust creative:toast:
little off trach...creative...those ttgi psu's only have adjustable pots for the 5v and 12v line right, and not the 3.3v right?
Do these SL6Z3 stepping comes in 2.6c variety?
didn't even know sandra 2004 was outQuote:

that's much better :D
Update: Got home a little earlier so I've fired it back up. Seems my initial assumptions were a bit off as the ram appears to be the bottle neck. Changing to 3:2 on the memory fixed the blue screen at bootup and I can now bootup at 3.5 altough it fails prime instantly. Gouda, when I said mb temp, I meant the case sensor, it's reporting 38C under load which is 100F! It's barely 80F in the room, and I have it sitting right out on the table. I don't have any fans blowing on the mobo but it shouldn't be getting that hot just sitting there by itself. It was running prime ok at 3.4 but CPU temps were soaring to 66C so I stopped it. Does this mobo just read high or is that normal w/ stock cooler? I think the mounting is pretty fool-proof and I used a super thin layer of AS3 which works great on all the athlons I've ever installed so I don't think I messed up anything there... Lastly, according to the MBM, and cpuZ, the vcore undervolts like hell. They report 1.50 when its set to 1.6 in bios. Did you have a similar experience w/ that?
.......just wondering if you guys are getting to 300 in Turbo or Standard? I seem to get more problems in standard........
......I thought I read somwhere  that sandra 04 was giving lower benches than Sandra Max...........
......yes, it does undervolt when under load and overvolt when idle  .............
What do you mean by turbo or standard?Quote:

My vcore undervolted about the same, and my vdim overvolted a pretty good bit too, maybe about 1/2 as much as the vcore undervolted.
.......Performance Mode= Auto, Standard,Turbo...........
.......I cannot select auto at all over 280fsb  ...........
hmmm...i could get in with 3:2 ratio before my mod on all of the options and i can get in with 5:4 after the mod with all of the optionsQuote:

mine's on auto right now, same with the other Performance mode thing under Chipset in the bios
Mine doesn't like Standard at high OC's so I have to use Turbo to get it working for some reason.
Cheers bud :thumbsup:Quote:

Yep the TTGI only has the adjustable for the 12 and 5v lines but I found the 3.3 raised a tinnny little bit also, nothing heaps like the other 2 lines, but a small bit atleast :)
With the Turbo and Standard setting, I know that the ram will default to 2-5-2-2 no matter what you manually set it at. This is for 1:1 only though guys so not sure about what it does in the other divider modes though....but Turbo is better than Standard for me :)
Have been doing assignments all afternoon so havnt played much with CPU yet :)
MY friend only gets SL6WF anyone with this stepping???
New one's only 27th...:(
I sent my motherboard to the dealer to exchange it.
I can get one of these:
MSI:
Neo 875P LSR
Neo 875P FIS2R
Neo2 865PE FIS2R
ABit:
IS7-G Max2 Advance
Asus:
P4P800 Deluxe
P4C800 Deluxe
How do you guys recommend?
Overclock is my goal.
The last one that's my opinion:)
P4C800-E non Deluxe or P4C800 rev. 2.0, I think they are the same board. That is if you do not need FireWire and 1 PATA RAID and the extra 2xSATA RAID, other wise get the P4C800-E Deluxe.
Sorry to go OT but is 60C load to high? I really think its this epox board because I'm priming at stock vcore now and my temps are in the high 50's, low 60's, and the heatsink is obviously making good contact because I can feel the heatsink getting warm.
Your sig says liquid cooled....if so thats worse than my $25 Aeroflow...:stick:
It's being rebuilt w/ some new components, I stated this was w/ the stock retail cooler.Quote:

when i have it on standard and the other performance mode in chipset section on Enabled i get 600-700 more 3d2k1 marks, but my memory bandwidth scores are the same whether they're on standard or turbo, so i think if you already have 2,5,2,2 timings then you won't see memory bandwidth increase, but performance still does increaseQuote:

When I had mine with the stock cooler it was running in the low 40's at stock voltage under load, and 50's with about 1.65v. Maybe you should try reinstalling the hsf?Quote:

I don't really have a problem with temps on mine, I only run 250fsb (3ghz) day to day and it only needs the default voltage.Quote:

soul, you have a 4pca3+?
This bothers me a little. I just reseated it and now back in the bios, I'm idling in the low 50's. It was priming fine before at 3.39@1.575v but I didn't like seeing the temps get in the mid 60's. What was your ambient temp? My case/mobo sensor is reading 35C right now (which still seems odd as well since having a large desk fan blowing on the mobo only brought it down to about 33C when the actual room temp is about 27-28C). Maybe this sucker just runs hotter than most, I dunno...Quote:

*edit* yes, this is on the 4pca3+ rev2 I just got the other day
heheeh souledge...was asking soulburner if he had the 4pca3+ rev2.
That is realy weird that your temps are that high...what bios are you using? I might be mistaken about my temps, but I don't think so. I would have remembered upper 50's and 60's. Would be nice if some other 4pca3+ users would post their temps. Hopefully my mobo will get here some time this week so I can be up and running again.
oh i c. I'm using the bios that came on the board, but I'll flash the newest later today. I wish more people had this board so they could share their experiences but so far the temps don't seem to be hurting too much. I'm now priming at 3.42@1.6, which btw is reported by the bios as only a meager 1.52 My goal was 3.5 for daily use so when I get the watercooling set back up, I should be lookin good. :toast:Quote:

If the hsf doesn't feel hot than I wouldn't worry about the temps. My vcore undervolted by about .05, but .08...that is pretty funny. The board could undervolt .15 and I would be fine, just as long as I could get 1.7v.
No I don't have that board, but you also can't trust BIOS temps no matter what board you're using. I use a probe attached directly to the back of the CPU. Its as close as you're gonna get.
At 3ghz mine says 26c at idle....and I know thats BS. Probe says 32-36c. It also says 38 load when its actually 48.
Just use whatever the idle temp is, and watch how far above ambient it goes.
Are mine stepping any good?

I'm going to Fry's today to try and pick up one of the new SL6Z3's. I'm wondering how I should ask the rep there for one. How should I go about asking the guy there if I they have it, so they'll understand? "I'm looking for a specific 2.4c processor with SL6Z3 at the end of the Prod code"?. Also, has anyone tried one of the 2.6 SL6Z4's? If those clock even higher then the 2.4c's I'll spring for the extra $20 at Frys and get one. :)
where have most of you been getting these chips? would i have a good chance of getting one if i ordered off newegg or zipzoomfly??
Couldn't get over to Frys today, will probably check in a few days though.. still want one of those steppings!
I think alot of the newegg 2.4c's have been z3's lately, like over half I have seen...but then again people that get crappy procs are less inclined to share the news with everyone.
Gef-People look for L320's and L310's, and within 1 week of those seem to be pretty good. Although i usually see the L321's alot more than L319, but it is realy just alot of luck anyway.
i think im going to give newegg a call and see if they could send me a chip with that stepping
that is the one thing that newegg is bad about. They have always told me that they can't check part #'s and revisions, and they won't garuntee any of them. Things like color, revision, #, date, size, shape, scent, species, # or eyes...
I was able to pick up one of the new SL6Z3's from zipzoomfly about 2 weeks ago for a IC7 system...definately runs best at default vcore, didnt like geil golden dragon ddr433, runs stable on all but prime at 3.45, no gat, 2-5-3-2 on corsair xms3500. Oh yeah, stock hsf and no special thermal paste either. I think it would be stable at 3.6 if I had a good power supply, this one undervolts pretty bad...so all in all not a bad chip!
Well I am getting back one from intel rma today.
Will set it up on the epox board.;)
Well my rev 2 epox was a bust. Bought a rev 1.2 from newegg, and testing it now.:D
althes what do you mean? I have a rev. 2 but i dont have the cpu for it yet.
Also, anybody knows anything about SL6Z4?
My rev2 had problems bad ide ports.
