hopefully the crossfire clocking can be easier with these modded bios's this generation of cards have tremendous potential.

Yeah I couldnt get the HIS BIOSes to work on my Sapphire either, best is to get your actual BIOS modded. Checksum issue no doubt but that is above my head...

Many motherboards search their USB ports when you set it to boot from a "Removable" device (and that usually includes floppy drives). It might just be a tricky BIOS with misleading settings.. if that P5K really does not allow for it I'd be surprised.Quote:

Hi, my card is HIS HD3850 512M IceQ3Turbo X, i have tried the HIS3850_512MB_3870volt.zip provided by BO FOX, the voltage indicated by Rivatuner is just the same as HD3870, but it seems that the OC ability doesn't improve much, i can only get around 770M hz for the max core speed, so is there some limit in the bios to go beyond 777Mhz? Strange.. my card was running Bioshock, The Witcher, CoD4, etc.. at 800 MHz all day long yesterday when my brother was indulging in those new games during his Xmas visit. Are you able to run any games at 800Mhz? The other guy 'motox' recently posted here that he could do Crysis at 810 MHz with my modded HIS bios. I'm sure that I can do all of those games at 810 MHz but since Quake3 crashed at 820 MHz, I chose to back down to 800 Mhz just to be safe, which is already within 2% of known limit for stability.Quote:

That's a first that oc'ing wont work with RT. Was CCC overclocking already unlocked before you upgraded the bios? Just asking because I know that mine was already unlocked and RT still worked. It gave me 1100 extra points in 3Dmark03 and 150 in 3dmark06. How about trying AtiTool to see if it works?
If nothing works, maybe a reinstall of the drivers would do it? Or upping the clocks in your BIOS but that would be a big pain in the neck to find the OC limits that way.

Oh, great! How much can you oc with ATiTool? Don't forget to verify the overclock in Rivatuner monitoring! Just in case it still didnt work I did another bios edit but this time the idle voltages are the same as 3850's default. Only the 3D load voltages are at 1.327v, equal to 3870's. Maybe it would work with CCC and/or Rivatuner overclocking.

It's a mass mailer infected .exe. Look for pmxgl32.dll; It will now be in your shell init if you installed the program. It will also created a couple random named .dlls in your system32 directory. They will probably have a create date of 2/1/2004. Avast isn't upped yet, so it doesn't know about it.Quote:

Truckchase! I'm afraid my system was infected with that virus too. I deleted the entry in regedit, and erased the file pmxgl32.dll. well it would seem that whenever the frequencies are programmed in the BIOS...as all of us have experienced here OVERDRIVE gets weird and stops working at least halfway. With the bios I edited the max on core was 730 in overdrive...since I programmed the bios to go above 730...I think OVERDRIVE is just totally freaking out. So, I dont think its nothing major. As Im trying to just hard lock in the frequencies without having to do any clock changes once I find whats stable =)

Just checked the directly linked HexCmp on http://virusscan.jotti.org/ (which uses a bunch of different scanners) and it turned up "clean" . Right now if I set 765 and run 3dmark06 I get a crash near the end of the bench because the driver "stops working". Voltage may very well help.

Just tested, and 750/1000 gives no artifacts, so 800/1000 would be great.

So if somebody can change my bios to 800 core (1.35V) and 1000 memory (2.0V). I saw that the voltage of the memory could be changed in the bios of a HD3870, so i think it can be done here also. If it can't just leave it then. I would be happy enough if i can flash them to 800 (1.35V) / 1000.

well....not entirely the 3850 256MB version clocked at 668mhz stock...from what Ive read serveral places and I believe someone stated in this thread is hard voltage is @ 1.29v NOT 1.33v
I think that is where the 512MB higher stock clocked cards differ...they come hard voltage @ 1.33v just like the HD3870

The other GeCube Bios didn't run with my GeCube Turbo III 512MB OC Edition graphic card. With the Stock Voltages i only come to 770MHz Core and 980MHz RAM.
So can anyone mod my Bios to 1,33 Volt?

dos doesnt recognize file name that long, if you type dir then u see the new file name, it will be something like 7608~1.bin or similar.Quote:

Flashing is easy. I don't have a floppy so I went an alternate route. I created a boot DVD with Nero. I set my DVD as the first boot device. When I post with the DVD in the drive the system goes right to Dr. Dos. I've got Atiflash on my C drive with all the BIOS I like to play with. Then I just go to C and atiflash -p -f <adapter number> <bios name>.rom. Reboot. Works like a charm. Make darn sure you remove your driver before doing this. I get both cards with no issues. I have 3850 crossfire. I do the one at 1 first then 0, reboot.
I wish I could get my hands on a BIOS that upped voltage and did not break OD.
