No, M2R32-MVP
It's an ATI 580 chipset.
Well, I'm stuck with a low HTT speed which is pretty lame.
Especially since...
http://www.maxcabral.com/overclock/3.2GHz%201.25v.jpg
Currently priming... 3.2GHz @ stock volts.... DDR2 914 @ 5-4-4-14.
This HT limitation is really lame.... makes me wonder if I should have gone NF4/NF5 instead.
This is a KILLER chip. I'm going to have to get another board I'm thinking.
Just for Kicks what does it do Using a 12xMulti and 1066setting with 5xHT?...
It could be the Multi that your using dosnt get along with the controler or Ram maybe...Mine went up to 3.25ghz with the 11x and 12x with a lame bios that didnt support the chip properly...Id lower the Ram and keep trying on different divider maybe..have you seen how far it goes on Stock Multi with Your ram @settings?
Mine may go Higher but like your Mobo I topped @ 294ish fsb...x11@3.25ghz and 12x250 @3.3ghz @1.42vcore.
If yours is a BPMW it should be able to go further in theory from whats posted in this thread:up: Mine was aCPMW:rolleyes:
He just have a LE-1600 and that is the reason why he is using the multi of 11. ;)
That is the stock multi. This is the 1600, not 1620 so the multi is 11 v.s. 12. Even at 12x this chip would be limited on this board I'm sure (seeing as I'm yet to touch the voltage and I've been known to go a little wild in that department ;)). This board has a known HTT limitation that I didn't know about... darn.
I might get the DFI Crossfire 3200 board which some members here got to 330-355MHz HTT and is rated for 400MHz HTT. I got the Asus because it's AM2 compatible. If I do get a new board I'm not sure what I'll do with this one. It might end up in the classifieds over at OCF or it may become a backup or secondary rig. We'll see.
A new board it will be :).
Stepping is CCB8F Made on 0743. Mine is an APMW. Usually it's just the stepping that matters but I guess A > B > C?
Nice, a 0743 that works great to. Will look for one soon... :D
Well even though my board is "capable" of a HTT of 450MHz I have a wall in the 300 range at this point so far just like the ASUS boards.
Also I need more voltage than you guys, I can't get nearly as far with the stock voltz. I'm on water so it doesn't bother me but you think it's PSU? I have 58A @ 12V so that should be enough for some fans, a pump, one small video card, 2 HD and 2 DVD's.....
I'm at 3.26Ghz right now with 11.5 x 284, I'm gonna keep playing here.
Bret
Yesterday i played the whole day with dryice and my LE-1620 and my 6400+ BE, but i have not even one result.. Damn coldbug! :p: The LE was already as his coldbug limit, at the time i benched wit 3816MHz (319MHz) at ~ 5°C idle.. If that cpu would had a free multi it should be the killer.. And my BE is a bit to bad for some great clocks, and also a high coldbug. Highest 1M i managed with it was about 3850MHz, but way slower then the 3816MHz with LE, bcs. of 667 memory divider.
http://www.gravedigga.de/gravedigga/..._komplett2.jpg
Maybe i will try some Phenom next time.
Very clean setup Fukflix! I like it :D !
Go now and test Phenom for any coldbug signs :p: !
BTW what is that drink on your desk? :p:
Well I guess there is not a HTT wall with this mobo, just the chip hates much over 3.3Ghz ughhh I need one of those BP chips!!!!!
http://usera.imagecave.com/sstrokerace/350HTT.jpg
Yes that is the right voltage, and it sits here at 21-22°C at that!
Yep, that BPs are really great! Try to get one more from a othe shop, maybe it is one. :)
I had a lot of dryice left and was a little bit bored so i did some pictures.. :p:

Oh im bad.....I forget i had a 1620  :D But yeah it sounds as if he has a lower stepping than BP/DP/..too...The CB or lower seem to do 3.2ghz no prob but then stumble after that even with the High volts...
Im gonna only run mine @2.8 ghz ..Seeing im replacing a Orleans @2.3ghz..It makes a huge differance between the two...I still want to have low watt consumption on that Pc! So ill run stock Volts@2.8ghz @1.25v:D
These are by far the Best single cores even the low 3.2ghz ones:yepp:
total awesomeness
damn coldbug
I'm at 3.25GHz right now with the CP and I keep lowering the Vcore when I have time to play with it.
Bret
That's what I ended up with:
http://usera.imagecave.com/sstrokera...0DDR2-8500.jpg
BIOS has Vcore set @ 1.60V and RAM @ 2.4V
This thing runs! I'm thinking a 6400+BE is next to play with.
Bret
Why did you use x.5 multiplier?
It's real memory frequency @ 3-3-3 or x.5 multiplier cpu-z bug?
543MHz 3-3-3-x 2,4V sounds unreal, but with DDR667 it could be correct. Which divider do you use? And why Singlechannel?
BE is a good choise too!
That is my 24/7-Setting with my BE on the M3A32:
http://www.abload.de/img/zwischenablage02k7s.jpg
Excellent results as aways funkflix!
Do you have any 45W brisbane there to test? Im interested to buy one but I want to see how far that chip goes.
The .0 multi's didn't clock or perform as well for some reason. Got me. Also this got me the highest bus speed and best RAM MHz as well. I noticed you guys had some issues with the bus speed maxing out and I got around that with the lower multi.
Yes I'm way more impressed with the RAM than the Chip. The RAM did cost 2 times as much as the chip though! I just kept tweaking it till it got down there, it's on the 667 or 6 divider. (3259/6 = 543)
I must just have the RAM in the board to the point where it wants to run single channel. I should move it to slots 1 & 2 rather than 1 & 3 huh? Otherwise I have no clue as to why it's going single channel on me. I never even noticed that. Might explain my :banana::banana::banana:ty Super Pi times
I'm sending the other chip and some RAM coolers back and probably going to upgrade to a BE as well, then just be done with this one.
No sure, but I think when I was bumping it up orginally it was like 1.4V which is the high stock voltage from AMD. (1.25/1.35/1.4 is what they list on the corp site)
Bret
mmmm must get one of these shortly :) , fire up the old chiller. nice results ppl
i personally dont think that single core is dead yet. this seems to be a decent cpu.
how does this cpu stack up to a celeron 420 clock for clock? would be a nice compare to determine the single core champ.
That is my 430 on air:
http://www.gravedigga.de/gravedigga/conroe-L/1m.jpg
And with dryice:
http://www.gravedigga.de/gravedigga/...30/1m_celi.jpg
Both results limited by max. FSB not the cpu itself.
Beside SuperPi i think a A64 with 1024Kb L2 is a bit faster then a Conroe-L. (same clock for sure)
Looks like the AMD for the win! Well at least the BPMW one!
Hmm, the 430 is about 28€ and the LE-1620 about 38€. Think the winner is the Conroe-L here. But i'm bored of intel, and that doesn't matter to me! :)

:D :D :D     Multi of 13!! I hope the release will be soon!
Apparently two new LE-1640 chips are on the way this month.
The first is a simple multiplier tweak to the existing 90n 1M chips, giving 2.6gig.
The other will be 65n, 512k, 2.7g. Presumable these will be little more than half a Brisbane (or perhaps a half-dead Brisbane?)
http://xtreview.com/addcomment-id-35...n-LE-1640.html
I ordered one now. They are aviable since today! Hope it will be a good one. :)
Here's my LE-1620 .... CCB8F 0745 DPMW Made in Malaysia

http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=299274
pretty much limited by cooling... at full load the temperature is already 56~57'C with no room air conditioning (it's hot here in Malaysia)
Nice man!
Good to see that the newer steppings still rock. Hope my 1640 will be a good one too!

Results soon. :toast:
Me likey ordering a 1620 right now and throwing it under a lapped 120 xtreme with 220cfm fan lets see how that does.
guyzz, plz dont tell this thread is already done for. bought myself the le-1620. looking forward to know how far u guyz can push this chip. the le-1600 already reached 3.912GHz. le-1620 only reaches 3.8???
I don't have good cooling here so anything above 3.5ghz might be a no for me
The one was a suicide-shot, the other one SuperPi 1M. ;)
I'm out of the amd game for the moment, can't find the right cpu to break some records with it. Switching to intel again, but i will hold my DFI 790FX-M2R and will wait for maybe some good phenoms in the near future. See ya later AMD! :p:
Edit: The 1640 couldn't boot with 3600MHz. Had no motivation to test more with it, i will sell the thing now. ;)
really didn't mean to offend you in any way funkflix. in fact, i salute you on your outstanding achievement. just becoz of your remarkable posts i was intrigued by this wonderful chip. because of you, i bought myself the le-1260 chip. thankyou for all your postings
like fakhrain, i too am from malaysia. although malaysia does manufacture these chips, the price for sale here is a bit too rich for my blood. even getting a decent overclocking mobo here is gonna cost almost half my monthly salary.hehe so just think of me of setting my own poor-man's overclocking platform..and yes, i am newbie at all this overclocking stuff. so all of your feedback and most educational info, i trully appreciate. again, I salute you funflix. all hail funflix!
Final results with my LE-1620:
ADH1620IAA5DH
CCBVF 0742 DPMW
100% stable at 3384, but no more. 3396 eventually produces Orthos errors. Random reboots begin promptly at 34xx (!)
12x282
1.47v
Arctic Cooling, Freezer 64 Pro cooler. 'Classic' Arctic Silver. 40C after 30min of Orthos. (Ambient is 14C, a rise of 26C. Fan speed seems slowish at 17xx RPM. Bios fan throttling is disabled, but I think I may need a PWM fan controller program.)
Gigabyte GA-M61P-S3
Mem and HT not optimized, running well under standard freqs.

No problem mate, i was not offended by your words! :)
Still some nice oc for that "cheap" cpu!
My LE-1620 is running now with the 790FX-M2R in the second system at 3410MHz 1,35V on aircooling without problems. That cpu is really awesome!
picked up an LE-1600 today. Shall see how she goes..
on da way to pick up 1600.. n see how it perform.. now still looking for the best batch number...
(for my Girl friend rig..haha:rofl: )
http://img521.imageshack.us/img521/3...2292hs8.th.jpg
look carefully at vcore.. i just want to know how far vcore can set using air cooling..
i stop to push at that speed..
fakhrain, seems to me you are situated in east malaysia. Hmm.. Sabah or Sarawak bro?
i am from ipoh. nice to see malaysia overclocker here. keep on pushing. good luck..
or is it pantai timur malaysia? pahang, terengganu or kelantan, perhaps? maybe we could get in touch. i would really appreciate your help in teaching me how to overclock this chip if it's not such a big deal. i also got me an abit mobo. just got past flashing bios to recognize it as the le-1620 proc
what type of abit mobo you used bro? can give full spec of your rig?
wow, i'm speechless nonetheless. i'm just a newbie, dear tictac. really need to know the requirements needed, adjusting to our country's rather hot climate plus my build will be at room temperature, no air-cond, sorry.hehe just poor bloke trying to mix-in with you guyz. i'm situated in kajang.
just make sure htlink speed arround 1ghz. use ddr400 memory ratio 1st. push up ht ref slowly. 5mhz intreval. test with superpi 1m then 3dmark. if stable push somemore. until default vcore bottleneck check temperature. if good push up vcore.

still trying to learn how to set raid 0. meddling through diy manuals and text books through this night. btw happy chinese new year!
what is superpi? sorry for asking, still new at this stuff..
happy chinese new year! wait.. that power supply unit cannot tahan liao.. suddenly blow if you push processor too high. try find better psu first..
any suggestions? not that pricy one-lah.hehe i thought i invested enough money already. had to squeeze a bit extra for that sapphire pcie. nanti i 'pokai' susah lo. lol
given my current specs, how far would you think i could push my proc? is it possible to reach 3-3.25ghz?
hmm.. superpi just to test initial overclock stability. do 1m then 2m calculation. hmm.. to be honest with you i not dare to overclock that proc with current psu. psu get fsp 450watt arround rm130.
thanx for the feedback tictac. :salute: still have to wait awhile b4 going to lowyatt. raye cine meh..
but if you daredevil guy. you can overclock that cpu bit by bit.. on default vcore only. monitor your psu 12volt line. make sure higher than 11.8v. if you push to hard on cpu. psu will blow.. if unlucky mobo vga memory also k.o. .. hehe
tictac, don't mind me asking, but what spec are using at the moment?
Motorola ROKR E1... :D ...
i dont have any computer... :(
i usually rent computer for surfing or use my mobile phone (opera mini) to post or view XS forums... poor me :slap:
No need for some pc-stuff with a girlfriend(?) like in your avatar! :D :toast:
??? :blurr: avatar pic not own headshot eh??? oic..gf--or is it?? hehe just joking..jgn mare ye
oic, ok. hmm.. gonna start pushing my chip today hopefully, but bit by bit only like wat tictac said
push like a gentleman... ;)
why you change nickname ?
who change nickname? where, what? hehe fakhrain, i'm a newbie here trying to learn from u guyz the trick and trades of overclocking. warfreak75 a.k.a helmi from kajang, selangor, malaysia. nice to meet everbody here at xs
dream come true for me. just got to 3ghz. man, big achievement 4 me, i mean a first, considering that i was with an athlonxp 2000+@1667mhz and knew nothing about overclocking. thanx to all you guyz, sincere thanks from the bottom of my heart. luv u guyz.muah! hehe
yessss. got to 3ghz. luv u guyz! thanks for your guidance. b4 this i was with an athlon xp 2000+@1667mhz so 4 me this is quite an achievement, i mean my very first overclock! man, i'm still celebrating.hehe
testing
Please post some screenshot... ;)
need to know how. what s/ware to install to check for stability, where to download from? 's been long time, so far lefted-behind..got a lot of catching up to do.hehe so far, everything is a-ok. did it all in 1 hour tops. had to jump cmos 2-3 times then had minor complications. i just owe it all to funkflix. thanx dude. i bumped the vcore to 1.375v and used the 11.5 multiplier *262 =3013mhz. is that ok for the time being? temps only go up to 42c when i'm using multiple apps + surfing the net, 37-39c when idle. b4 this temps were only 35c. what do you think tictac?
Press print screen botton on keyboard. Then open microsoft paint. Press contol+V (Paste) then save it. attacth to next post.. ;)
Stability test can use orthos
thanx dear tictac
i see the all made screenshots of cpu-z. what version?
i mean they all posted screenshots of cpu-z. is it another benchmarking tool? and that other one..erm the superpi??
Latest CPUZ Ver 1.44
Get it here : http://www.cpuid.com/download/cpuz_144.zip
Super PI
http://www.xtremesystems.com/pi/super_pi_mod-1.5.zip
Orthos:
http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads...e_20060420.cab
P/S: Kau pakai cpu-z tu untuk tunjuk speed processor kau. Super pi tu untuk test laju mana da processor kau bandingkan dengan sebelum overclock. Orthos tu plak untuk test stable mana ko-nya processor setelah overclock.
orthos 2004 is it? or is there a newer version?
oo..ok thanx
LE only have 1 core..
P/S : Tak kisah je ko-nya processor pun 1core je... mana2 pun bley
select digit of pi to be caculated? how much? default 16k?
downloaded all the benchmarks, did the screenshots, dunno how to attach here coz come-out -->please enter URL of your image?? then the orthos:
1:Self-test 1024K passed! but then 1:Test 1, 800000 Lucas-Lehmer iterations of M172031 using 8K FFT length.
1:ERROR: ILLEGAL SUMOUT??? gonna go to sleep, got to rest first. cya tictac
my first initial benchmarking
sorry guyz, still learning how crop and resize my screenshots
howd'ya guys post so big and high res pic in xs?? when i try, file's too large than 200kb. when resize, so small to the naked eye. aiya :bloodshot eyes: not enuff sleep
keep the pic resolution to 800x600 and save in JPEG or GIF format....
small FTT 8K not stable that mean you either have to lower your overclock or raise vcore alittle bit until no error. Super pi test 1m calculation
so sad.. i cant see the pic clearly.. try to upload using imageshack..
had to bump a bit from to 1,4v. using the former vcore it was possible to do normal tasks, surf the net, listening to music, etc.
hit a problem when i tried to pay nfs pro street, my pcix needed to squeeze out more voltage from psu. not enuff juice, me think.
makes me wonder how i would do with an x2 dual-core rig coupled with a decent psu.hehe :power hungry now: ekekeke
true to what tictac said earlier, my progress has been limited due to my psu. got to get me a bigger one that can pump my cpu more power:smile:
for the time-being i have a stable system, 262*11.5=3013mhz, 1.4vcore. being able to max out graphics on games like nfs pro street an cnc tiberium wars running at 3.0GHz, only one word :wow:
when i'm gaming, temps are 45C-48C, when idle, temps drop back to 35C-38C. ok for me but still wanting more and more.hehe tried to go for 3.2/3.4/3.5GHz but just could'nt.
btw what does PWM stand for? it has its own temperature reading, but what are the normal or maximum temps? thanx for the info guyz..
hope this works.
PWM stand for power mosfet of your cpu vcore. Make sure the temp no so high because can effect stability of cpu. 60c consider high already. put small fan on top of it. 3ghz ok already for gaming. dont waste money for 200-500mhz improvement. hehe
that PWM fluctuates a bit 50C+ but never 60C.
am i being held back by the psu or do i need a kick ass hsf?
hypertx cpu cooler has its limit to 1800rpm. thermaltake venus 12 can go up to 5500rpm. hmm..hmm decisions..decisions.hehe
i want venture through air-cooling first.
my ht link and ram/dram?? timings are still at default running on auto,
changing them to user define..whats the outcome? pros n cons..
is it risky?
nice rig madfaze. thanks for the tips
