thanks for the heads up and leg work...will edit those with my next update in a bit.
so for those hating on the 790i because some guys have been posting results without P1/P2 enabled, let the hating stop, 790i is officially as fast in SPi (32M at least and really, thats all that counts :D )...it might not be as fast at the exact same settings, but, the memory clocking abilities put it ahead of P35/X38. i will be getting my X48 board in a week or so but i don't anticipate the memory clocking skill of the 790i.
here is the proof...now it doesn't register for anything, and it was a bit of a kick in the balls, but compare it to my 10.XX category leading frequency and you can see this setup is right there. BTW, i will have it in the 10.xx category at this frequency if it means not sleeping tonight...

now, the X48 i have on its way (P5E3-Premium) might be able to match this 531x7.5 1:2 at a nice tight PL, but my best P5K3-Dlx or Maximus Extreme sure as hell couldn't.
ho ho ho ho ho
what did i tell ya mate :D
wait till you get a kit of RAM than can handle tighter tRFC ;) :D
that's a great time mate
really great
fingers crossed this new kit i'm getting will do some decent 7-6-x-x timings past 2GHz :D
thanks buddy and yes you were absolutely correct, thanks for your thread convincing me of taking a chance on this board. it will be doing what it was meant to do in a short while (mmm 3D benching) but it also holds its own in 32M SPi.
also, this kit will absolutely not do <65 tRFC at this frequency...at 1050MHz i got it to run 64 tRFC but 63 was a no-go. my other kit of Dominator 14400s didn't like tight tRFC in the Maximus Extreme either so i don't have high hopes for them on the 790i. my G.Skills were a bit better so if they clock like these Dom sticks then the G.Skills should pull this time down a bit more. speaking of which, before i could even finish my last post, the deed was done. 790i owns one of the top spots in the 32M challenge

i can run my corsair kit down to 54 tRFC
guess it all depends on the board and kits
i've seen a few people benchmark 7-7-7-x or 7-6-x-x- on 790i at 2GHz which is encouraging.............
i reckon it's just going to need some more bios tweakin by engineers but once CAS7 and CAS6 clocks get up to speed Superpi times will tumble even more....you would definitely beat your old score in this category with CAS7 imo
must be that special hand picked ES board you got :D
yeah, 2000MHz at CL7 will be interesting to see on the 790i. as it stands, 500*8 1:2 8-7-6 is a few seconds slower on 790i than P35 at the same with tRD6 and even a few more yet than X38 at 500*8 1:2 7-7-6 tRD6. so clock for clock it isn't as fast, unless maybe with some nice 54 tRFC ;) (thats jealousy talking).
but...where it will pull ahead is at high FSB where we are limited to pretty much a single ratio like P35/X38/X48. the ability to tune memory clocks a bit better at 550FSB+ should give it the advantage there...hopefully.
link? :D
alright before you post a hlaf dozen other scores :D...please start including the memory tab, motherboard tab, and if at all possible the SPD tab. it helps identify your components and helps others out. thanks guy, and damn...hardest working guy in this thread, nice work

i know Gautam wanted to see a lower frequency but this is the best i could muster out at this time. the memory is at the highest ratio before going to 1130MHz (which won't be happening anytime soon) and the OS is as tweaked as a base head on sunday morning. this 790i is a monster and these G.Skills are absolutely killing it...tRFC 56 @ 1060MHz...wait until you see them at the same timings at 1078MHz for 32M with only 2.10v :D
it feels good to join the sub 9min club on a single stage...and yeah, the CPU-Z voltage for the CPU is correct, i finally got lucky with a CPU ;)

thanks guys...this board has treated me extremely well. i just got a capable water setup on the north bridge and am working on crushing my overall PB 32M time. so far a solid 5 seconds lower than it was with a Noctua NC-U6 on the north bridge. i am hitting some resistance @ 580FSB / 1091MHZ 8-7-6 but working through it

it's about time we got your name up there. i am looking forward to seeing what you can do with that board in this arena. i too have an x48 now, P5E3-Premium. it should be interesting to see if i can catch up to the 790i with it...something tells me it might be a tough fight to do so.
hehe
i don't know what's up with me
i always like to do things the hard way don't i
have a perfectly good 790i in the bench room and i'm messing with X38 and X48 boards :D
maybe it's a good challenge i guess
i will give this asus P5E3 DLX a shot again as i have some issues with Gigabyte X48 and i'm finding that asus is a few seconds quicker
i'll take it easy cause i make too many plans in my head and i find time is what i don't have hehehe

now are you going to make me call you Dinos22...or is Dino/Dinos good. come on, what the hell is your name anyway? :D
i managed sub 5GHz/sub 10min with 65nm but sub 5GHz/sub 9min is going to be much tougher. i'm not sure where i am going to get that 40MHz from. this 790i at this timing set is faster than the only reasonable higher FSB setup. i just don't see this 790i getting anymore that this...aside from a couple MHz for tighter secondary timings

my name is Dino
:)
yeah it looks like you've squeezed it all out
the only other thing i could think off is getting that tRFC lower and also going for 8.5x higher FSB with P1/P2 but that may be impossible unless subzero coolin on NB can help
you've done really great
in fact some of your times are making me depressed considering how far behind i am on Intel platform atm.... lol
i have finally gotten around to do some Ghost images of a bench system so that i could potentially recover back in 10 minutes if required
i also have a dead hard drive which may have been cause by 790i...i cannot install an OS on it any more
alright, Dino it is ;)
thanks for the comments...squeezing this 790i has all but consumed me these past few weeks but i think i am getting to its ultimate limits. time to up the CPU multi and take these results to the next level.
and damn...never thought of that for whatever reason. 8.5x588 is exactly 5GHz...and guess what my max 32M benching FSB is right now? that's right, 588MHz. i can run 588FSB with memory at 1102MHz...but i don't think that will get me sub 10min to be honest. i just just shut the rig down for the night but tomorrow i will give it a go with the G.Skills so i can run a tRFC of 58 at 1102MHz.
it is good to hear you have finally come around with an imaging setup, but damn, i don't want to hear you having issues with hard drives. as i said in the Ballistix OC Report...i haven't had to re-image in weeks. even with pushing these G.Skills and the Ballistix. i really think i have a good handle on this board. either that or i have beat it into submission :D
now...i am sooooooo close to sub 9min sub 5GHz :D
click for full size...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...6_1102-1sm.png
thanks for smacking me in the head and waking me up to the whole 8.5X multi. i can't believe i didn't think of that seeing as it equates to exactly 5GHz. i honestly didn't think it would be this close but it is almost worth fighting with for a few hours to see what i can't come up with. the only problem is that my SPi process is about as good as i am going to get it...i think. lord knows i have spent a lot of time on my process/OS. although i haven't really done a lot of changes to my CW since going 45nm...perhaps there are a couple seconds to gain there, but 3 and a half is going to be pretty tough at this point.
BTW, you do realize i have dropped 35 seconds going from 8.5X to 9X??? i hope your thinking what i am thinking about an E8500 and a certain world record :D :D
Awesome stuff Jody.. ya need a new 120MB/s SSD OS drive :D
gosh George, i don't know...that is an awfully generous offer of a donation, but i don't think i can accept :D
thanks buddy...i love love love this motherboard.
hmm it seems the 790i can supply a decent fsb. just wondering wich is the king..... 790i or 965c2 ( just for fsb )
anyways.... soo close, hope you can manage to sqeeuze a litte more out of it ;)
965C2 is still FSB king without question. my board is completely tapped at 590FSB right now with high volts and ambient cooled water. not many others have gotten this high or gone higher. but the difference in performance at this FSB VS 965C2 in SPi isn't going to be close :D
nice thnx for the info. thinking about getting a 790i
Trying to squeeze something from a crippled setup...

Apart from that, can you go higher with more vdimm?
I'd imagine 925mhz to be no problemo for you if you crank up the voltage a little...
This sunday, along with Oliver, I will try 1ghz 32M those latencies :) 4ghz sharp
Oh and 3950mhz as well, the 10.xxx entry needs to be made as well :D
- Initial Blackops preparation, for the 01SE/03/05/06 single card the following weekend... - Gotta make a fine little excel file with vdimm/vmch/freq/timings - so that it'll only be QX9650 concern the following week.
Yeah, they can do higher even at the same voltage.
I was just testing the exact timings I had from a previous test.
I'll test them again probably later on at higher freq & maybe some tighter timings :D
Good luck in your benches.
I'll be benching single-card as well this weekend ( in blind however, no temp sensors here :D ) but with a "real" single-card ( 9800GTX coldbug edition :p: )
Almost got ya for now, BZ :) Can I post a "warm-up" for 10:xx category, please? ;) No copy-waza or maxmem yet.

thanks but your right, high FSB plays a large role int he performance...some chipsets more than others too. i know one that loves FSB and high memory clocks in 32M :D
every time i come back to this thread i have to spend some time on a clock and since i was just working with this Ballistix kit at 1000MHz 7-6-5, i figured i would test it against some other setups...the results were good

vdimm? That's looking awesome.
Very nice 3oh6:eek:
So many Divisors on that 790i, must be nice!
Great result, 3oh6  Very efficient!
Here's my best shot so far.

Hey mates,
here is my best run
http://img263.imageshack.us/img263/1...m4s4ghzwh7.jpg
I think it is very efficient for QX, ASUS P5E64 WS Evolution is a great board and realy fast!
Only thing what suxx is the Mem Dividers, so with 1:2 is 900 MHz the best what I can get.

i've tried to challenge 3oh6 at sub10 category, but it's really hard with such low FSB and RAM. impossible?
http://img501.imageshack.us/img501/9...1766ap7.th.png
sub13 isn't possible because 6,5 multi doesn't work. 7 multi = low fsb...
don't know why my loops after 13-15 are much slower than any other lowclock challengers there
monteboy's tweaker works fine, but i need more runs to test better performance settings.
hot damn, nice work guys. the P5E3-Premium is such a monster at 500FSB, it really is a shame i am having no luck at all with mine. i don't think i will be able to touch those with the 790i unless i find time in my tweaks because the hardware is absolutely maxed at this point. i will do an update in the next couple of days. i have a little bit more on my plate i need to clean off before i start having fun again ;)
Very nice score sobih25
PL6 is hard....I take with PL7 12'09''
Is north at air? Vnorth?
Thx

aircooled ofc, just used noisy delta fans. vnb 1,69v-1,72v from bios. that's all.
you guys are doing really great
so bloody fast
that RAM you have is amazing
If you use the SpiTweaker please show it on your Screenshots that all other people can see which Waza settings are used.
I build a smaller GUI Version , check this -> http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...&postcount=379
used 600mb 1024kb files.
i tried to use this spi tweaker and it's a bit weird
when i look at my system available memory it's maxed out but cached memory size is at a bare minimum
i've tried with and without CDT and also with smaller file size
but it doesn't look right and at same settings monte is on for 11m run i'm a few seconds slower
http://img128.imageshack.us/img128/6361/79582715vb4.jpg
@Dinos22
If you want balance mem & cache try larger Waza. 1840 MB & 1024KB filesize
+ CDT. For me the balanced system was not the best choice. I have better results with smaller Waza & sngle file size.
Try Dino different Parameters , there are many factors that affect Spi32M time. Such Partition Size , MaxMem , pagefile size & location.
Parameters which are good for my systen should not always be the best for others.
I've not check any balance between total/available ever.
daaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn
i just did a flat 12m time at 3627MHz lol
i'm too tired for this now lol
gotta hit the bed hehehe
i will try to do some Pmem tweaks to beat hipro5 in sub12m category
