WOW one of the sexiest project I have ever seen!
Can't wait to see final pics. :yepp:
This project is so cool, i'll try to follow every step, really cool.. really liked the reservoir...
I personally dislike UV fluid, but I do realize you're being sponsored by those guys and that my opinion neither matters nor should REALLY be considered for your project. Had I been doing something similar and wanted UV, I'd probably have wanted to sleeve the tubes themselves with UV-reactive sleeves.
Nothing really done today, bar a little problem.
I first fitted the Coolermaster 700W PSU (with love from Specialtech. Its about 10mm shorter than the original test PSU I was using. I know I have to add in the length of the modual connections, but as I will only be using one of the Molex/S-ATA power ports, and one of the PCI-E power ports, it won't be a big problem.

It fits in at the back too which is nice.

Here is where the problem starts. When I started designing this mod, I didn't intend to use an Aquaero, but now I do and thats one of the reasons for ze box. I didn't factor that in when designing mark two of the res.
http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t...w/DSCF3448.jpg
Ooops. (those scratches are on the outer cover film, so all is well)
Well, I'm not desinging that res all over again :p. Soo, I'm thinking that I'll dremel out part of the back of the box, and then add an Acrylic Danger Den 90* bend to take it back towards the PSU. Its a little ennoying I know, but I promise it'll look good.
Or. I could just do away with the box on its own, and have the Aquaero 'floating' or the front panel.
looking good , will be better when its all sleeved...
Woot 100th post :D
I've only just found this thread - that res is awesome!!
can't wait to see this thing finished.
Love this project... sub'ed and can't wait for next update :)
Thank you very much guys :D

Thanks for the comments gang...
Watery will be back with a big bang in September!
I'm so glad I didn't find this thread until now.
I wouldn't have been able to stand the wait.
Wow amazing project! This is the best looking case I've ever seen. Subscribed.
Dun Duna Dah!!!
Yes... I have an update!!! But not tonight!
Haha. I hope to put it up tommorrow.
WAAAAH!
The saga surrounding my update is now silly.. My usually postie is looking after his daughter in hospital so we've got a replacement one... Aparantly my bits havn't been delivered because the postie says a 600g box full of litte thingies is too much for him to carry. We live 100y away from the road where he parks his van and he can't be arsed to carry it. So I've got to cycle 4 miles tommorrow to try and pick this stuff up.. FFS...
In other news, my new design program (moved from V7 to Cobalt V8) requires student ID to get my $4,705 discount by I cant seem to get my school to send it out... So no full CAD renders, no progress. Me = miffed.
what a lazy post man :(
wow...so his laziness of not being able to walk 100 yards is causing you to go four miles, how messed up is that
Sweet build. Nice res
how is 600g too heavy??? how does he do his shopping!... oh dear this box of corn flakes to too heavy T_T
so mankz, gunna drive an iron spike through his foot so you get a better replacement?
"A tidy worker is a happy worker..."
I sorted out all ma' shizzle today. Im normally a 'fairly' clean worker, but having bits and bobs in various bowls and tubs was slowing down my allready rather slow productivity...
So..:

A bought myself a box. Yes, a box.

And spend all an hour or so sorting through screws and washers until I could do no more!

Oh Yar... I Also de-sleeved all of the AC Ryan Backfire 120mm Kameleon fans... fun.

Nothing much to report... I got some M3x25, x30 and x50 Hex Headed Aluminium bolts..
For this update, I've gone for thumbnails.... I can't show enough detail @ 800x640... its just not fair!
So, Cobalt V8 time ladies... soo spankly and new and lovelly... I set about designing the sidepanel which I'll get cut when I'm back in the shop in about 10 days or so...

Its basically 1x 5mm of clear which is the case sructure, 1 piece of solid chromed metal (would either be ACRyan HexX or MNPCTech Modders Mesh that I'd get chromed) and then a 3mm green piece over the top... I know its not symetrical, but thats sorta the point...

Awesome!
gief..more..PICS!!
AS work and SAT's practise have slowed down progress alot.. Only a little update. I've finally got the front and rear panels sorta finished. The front will have the holes for an Aquacomputer Aquaero, while the rear with the obligitory motherboard holes, and a slot-loading Laptop drive 'slit'.
As always, these renders are done using Anti-Alias, Shadows and a simple White-Gray background.

A little more today. I reworked the front holes to take one of the main parts of the new design, a 10mm divider plate..:

( I know that the res or the mobo tray aren't drawn in - all part of my plans.)
I hope to start cutting tommorrow!
i know i'm bringing up and old thread, but any updates, so to speak?
Righty ho, lets get this train going again..
I've been oh so very busy this year, but I'm now 'over the top' of that peak, so its time to carry on with this project. First thing was to re-build the MK2 res. Not much different from MK2, just higher detailed rasters, and better threads on the back panel mount. All of those little scratches are on the plastic cover sheet of the acrylic.. Its all glued up now, all I need is to get the three holes on the back tapped up for take G1/4" threads...

Tommorrow I hope to start the radiator mount... :)
WHOA!!!! Over a year, and still not finished?!?!?!?!?!
I hoped the wait had been worth it. I almost unsubbed cuz I thought this thread was dead and you had finished without telling us about it....
...BUT....I was wrong!
Let's see some good acrylic goodness!!!
I was hoping to have had an update by now, but someone somewhere doesn't want me too I finished designing the new res, and finished all the files for the case that need to be laser cut, but alas, my school, and the server where these files are kept have closed thanks to swine flu....
This isn't dead, its just on Tamiflu. These are some examples of what the people making my res can do :D

^^ RIGHT! Back at school, network is up and running, and I've got abbout 10 square meters of 5mm acrylic coming. It should be a busy week.
Looking forward to seeing more, and glad to see the project is back on track.
cool arcylic work! got a link to the companies site? I would like to add them to my backups if my res construction fails :p:
