I am not really that big on ATI benching, just testing the units before they ship out with both cards.

There is no secret to it other than massive, relentless efforts in container design.
For the last bunch of MHz you need not only the capacity to handle the load, but also the control to keep temps right where you need them. These new cards needed new designs to fulfill those criteria so it doesn't surprise me one bit to see Vince rocketing past everyone else.
(Btw just so no one tries to read too hard into this I'm also really looking forward to seeing Jason's new stuff)
After seen these TWO pots in live action, I tell you guys that Vince (k|ngp|n) is bullshi(f)ting you by saying you that he has hard time while benching with three pots and LN2...... :D :p:
Those pots was holding the temps of the VGAs SO STABLE, that you don't have to "take care" of them during a bench.....
You have to take care only the CPU's pot.....It's like working your VGAs on air and just forget about them.....
SO he has to take care only the CPU pot and it's WAY easier for him to bench on LN2..... :p:
Those new tek9 3.0 is just so cool.
The performance is just awesome, both the clocks in the thread and the visit at Hellas ;).
The design, performance and aswell the look is just a huge step in this world.
Keep pushing it Vince.
Yes I asure you that is VERY EASY to bench with 3 x LN2 containers now....
On my latest session of my bench, I was alone.....I filled one up to half and I only had to pour a bit every some sec to the other so to keep it at -165*C....;) :)
the life of a professional OCer is gettin easier by the day, i'm sure :D
Another testimony from me - Kingpin is a lazy bum, thats why he made these pots :D , if for example your card cold bugs @ -150C and you only need -100C to run, just fill up to -150C and forget about it, at the end of GT4, your card would prolly be -110 or -120C still room :)
vince u dont need shim on the containers for the ati cards ? :p:
btw thx for ure pm bro .
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y90...0/DSC01778.jpg
im a big ati fan :D
ready to run
how did you remove it? by using a sharp knife?
like popping the IHS from a cpu razorblade all the way ;) .
just watch out for the core's pcb its very easy to leave marks , and the caps that u dont cut those off .
just start in 1 cornor and go to the next , go slow and it wil go all fine .
ones u done 3/4 of the shim it will pop off its self with-out a hitch ;)
hi, just some glue nothing elles .
nope i did not heat it up ;) , just use a razor thats nice and scharp
Not off topic at all really...removing the shims for the ATI is very good info.
I use a double edge razor and hold the card very steady against something solid and push one corner of the ihs. It will pop right off, you dont need to slice it off like the old amd ihs's. It will just pop and seperate completely.
Blind knows whats up ;)...you ready for those new pots yet man :)??
Next week my friend....
After testing the Teks in Athens, I was directly convinced to get one myself. Stealing them from George did not work, so I have to use Plan B and safe sme money :) They are worth every cent, that's for sure.
I wonder why you guys still discusing about these pots if they are THAT good or just "avaradge".....
ONE WORD:
THEY ARE JUST ...... "PERFECT" .....PERIOD.....
They worth their money in gold as for me.... ;)
I just hope that Vince do not change their design (at least for the time been :p: )
I will not change the design for some time my friend :D
These containers will be copied sooooooo much by all the clowns out there that really dont have a clue about what they are doing and just copy other peoples :banana::banana::banana: for $$$$$. Pisses me off but what can you do...they will always be just bull:banana::banana::banana::banana: copies of my units, but NEVER the real thing :D
The internals are critical to this design and the feel the unit has when benching ln2, thats why I did not show them...
kingpin:
well pictures is already leaking on internet on the internal of your newest gpu pots, I have some of them on my email.. dunno who have take those to be honest.
regards
Tim
lol KP there's just no way to protect it except for public intervention
lol at tim's public intervention over at OCX recently regarding your pots heh
Yes......It's like coping a Rolex watch......Replicas are cheep and they DON'T perform the same..... ;) :D
Your units are a little different and you aren't selling them anyways...so that doesnt make you a clown :D.
I give alot of people tips on making them when they ask me for specs, it's not like that.
Biters piss me off....I'm gonna start calling people out on it when I see units that are blatant copies and they are for commercial use. It's :banana::banana::banana:ing bull:banana::banana::banana::banana: that I spend thousands prototyping units to perfect them and tune them right, than someone decides that because people are digging it.... it's a good idea to copy it and make some $$$ :( . I held back before but not any more....watch. And It's only blatant copies I am talking about.
I try to be as original and unique as possible on all of my units, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't :), but I learn alot on every unit to help make the next one better. It great to see others doing that from time to time, but I mostly respect the guys that follow in those same lines and dont do the same old ass stuff.
I also have alot of respect for someone such as yourself who does their own . Now you will bench them and figure out how to make your next ones even better right? THAT'S what it is about.
Hey Vince,
I wont have time for about another week yet to get any runs in with this beauty, but you said to take lots of pictures :)
Here are some I'd like to share with you and the guys, sorry there's no results to go with them.
I'm not going to mod the card till after the first session.

The wole setup looks beautiful deanzo. Can't wait to see it all subzero, good luck with your benching man.
wow thats so sick...
http://break.com/index/breaking-the-...ng-limits.html
just saw that. Is that actually you vince?
keep up the good work. can i send you a pm?(not about purchasing... :( )
whoa that is one big a$$ pot
bigger than i thought
great for dice even :)
vince just take it as a compliment, imitation is the best compliment someone could give you, that and hating
i hate you youngpro

I really do feel for you man, to hear people are copying your Tek9's and throwing them up for sale is really disgusting, i used to port performance engines and when people asked me for templates of port that i had spent hours tuning it just made me want to reach out and slap them!! i could only imagine how much it would make you blood boil to hear/see such things after the amount of hard earned cash you've spent in R&D on these units, respectively some things are hard to steer clear from in design and are more of a technology development, like the rectangle pot (with 3way SLI and 4-3 slot spacing) its hard not too. but to hear people making financial gain and some even personal gain from copying your designs really is sad  but really they wouldn't be copying if i wasn't good.
Congrats on rev 3.0 they look great!!! :D
I've just been linked here from www.benchtec.co.uk by Deanzo, and I just have to say how stunning a GPU pot that is! Good work!
If you could PM me a price for one delivered to the UK that'd be great! Cheers :)
vince , i trully understand and support ur stance on those copycats... , imitation is teh best form of flattery. :) but of course direct copies and commercial gain are just over the top.. i have to admit i have a pot similar to urz going to be made. but its for personal use.. and slight;y different...
quick questions, looking at the spacing on the Asus Maximus Extreme, tek9's will not fit in the space if your fitting crossfire or?
Hey thanx alot tek 3 has been my fav both designing/benching. It's really evolved into a hell of a unit. It does EVERYTHING that it was intended to do.
As for the :banana::banana::banana::banana: :banana::banana::banana::banana: :banana::banana::banana::banana: :banana::banana::banana::banana: biters...watch out because these aussie's got my back :D.
@EMINEM
These units are for double pci-ex spacing. 3-way rev soon.
can wait till i get my hand on mine :D .
thx in advance vince ;) u are really the best :)
vince please reply to my pm :(
got my tek-9 3.0 today to vince u are the greatest ;)
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y90...b/DSC01825.jpg
love the disign :p: , within 2 day full testing :D
The Tek-9 3.0 is probably Vince's greatest accomplishment. And consider the guy we're talking about here, that's really saying a lot. :p:
Sham and hipro would probably agree though.
They are just absolutely amazing both on dry ice and LN2. 1200MHz on R600 is no stretch with the right card, and is not particularly difficult with this unit. We've seen Vince do it, and I was also able to come close.
Check out the nasty ATiTool temperature with the card cruising at 1200MHz 1.51v. Base temperatures never crossed -65C for me under these circumstances through Nature. Absolutely superb.
However, I came to the conclusion that LN2 is actually even easier on these units than dry ice. That particular card has a very nasty cold bug. Any lower than about -71 or so container temperature results in a hard lock under 3D load. Consequently, I was not really able to gain any benchable clocks going from dry ice to LN2. Still, the LN2 experience was amazing. Just hit the container hard right before your bench starts, and start the benchmark at the temperature you want to hold as the unit is pulling down. Timing the start of the benchmark is all you have to worry about with this unit. Very, very infrequent pouring is necessary. Through a nature run for example, you only need one splash right before the test starts, and nothing more. Base temps rise about 3C under load, but the sheer mass of the unit allows the card to remain stable.
Check out what happens when you pair a 5500MHz Yorkie with the card screaming like this on the Tek 9. Highest card clocks I've seen yet through a single '05, and the entire run required only two pours for the Tek 9...around the middle of GT2 is where the container became empty. One more splash, and it handled Canyon Flight like cake afterwards.
Hello guys,
is there a list of all compatible graphic cards?
i am still a student, but want to step into subzero for my videocards.
So a fundamental thing is, that the pots fits with nearly all cards... maybe in the future to.
I see many pots, only made for 2900 oder 8800... i am searching for a pot, that fits with all these cards... maybe with some oldschool cards like X850XT, too.
Will this pot be a good choice for me... considered to compatibility?
Performance is beyond all questions!!!!
kind regards Loopy
PS: can somebody PM me for the price of the unit?
those pots fitts both 8800 cards as well as 2900 and newer 3850 and 3870... you have to remove the frame arround the gpu on 2900cards thought.. shouldn't be to hard as far as i know.
/tim
and older models of ati/nv crads ?!
maybe X850XT AGP or other older PCIe models....
i cant find the exact dimensions of the mounting holes of the pot.
maybe there are several mounting kits for the pot....
TEK-9 Slims unveiled last night in vegas and benched for easy new 3dmark 2003 world record by using 3 EVGA 8800 ULTRAS and EVGA 780iSLI at 120,000 points. These TRI-SLI units are pittbulls for the size. Tuned for 1000mhz+ ultras these TEKS are :D.
These units friggen rock man. Vince great job
awesome scores :D
btw
anyone have clew where I can get that nuts (M2,5)

MCW-60 water cooling kit
Vince, i looked at the pictures in the CES thread a couple times and kept saying "hmmm those pots look smaller than the tek-9s".
So now i know im not crazy...
Right on.....
Say hello to my little friends :shoot: :shoot: :shoot:
Tek-9 slims for triple SLI are here. These units rock the ULTRAS using LN2 over 1000mhz on core...and fit 3-way SLI PERFECTLY :D .
http://www.overclockingpin.com/tek9%...%20graphic.gif
These are awesome pots that are tuned for fine temperature control.
Results from first use, ORB damage done.
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=173621
Gorgeous product Vince. Nice results too.
Vince the Tek-9 slims, is so cool and the performance is just eek.
Keep develomenting it.
Best Regards.
now thats wat i call sexy... omg i think i need a new pair of pants...
OT : i see wat looks like 4 VRs on teh Memory Area there.. wat mods are they? sorry for the OT ..:) just curious
I had a question since I haven't done an DI or LN2 runs yet. This isn't the place to ask it but since the big boys will be playing in this thread I figured I would ask here. When you are running those cards at almost 1100 core does it just artifact like crazy the whole run even though it doesn't crash? I would love to see a fraps or screenshots of a sub zero run. Thanks guys.
great work Vince, they are really slim
is there room for insulation? how much of a temperature difference is there between the tek-9's and the slims?
those are incredible... drooooooooooool!!!
regards!
Yes there is room for insulation.
If you have good mounting and correct voltage, you should see no artifacts on a good card. If the card is inferior and you try to push it, it will artifact and possibly hurt the score.
sweet pots
Bad ass Vince :fact:
Slims dont have nearly the internal volume that the full sized ones have making them ineffective for dry ice use. Full sized units own with dry ice and with LN2 they require much less pouring. These slims are really just single slot versions of their big brothers. I tried to make the best performing unit possible for the TRI-spacing, but size/dimension considerations were most important on these performance second. The units really do good considering.
Superb Finish on all units there KP.
Looks fantastic :D
Dynasty is getting these badboys :)
http://www.overclockingpin.com/tek9%...dge%20mark.jpg
3 Tek-9's but no F1?
οοοο nice pots m8 , plz see your pms ;p
he sold all F1's :D probably
btw k|ngp|n please reply my PM
got my lovely just!
This pot is as solid as it gets! Really stable on ln2, able to handle gpu loads easily! And drinks down ln2 like nothing! Havent tested it on dice or REALLY tested it yet but i will once my cpu gets back :)

What a lovely GPU pot
I want one for sure..............:slobber:
I was quite suprised by the internals in this, i had expected different.
beats me since i didnt know what to expect! haha first i saw it i was like.. Hmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!
What kind of insulation is that?
I layer armaflex and then layers of sticky back foam i think
Congrats NR :D
Should we expect some new numbers with that??
haha nah not yet bro. my x48t rev1.0 is dead. nothing new since its the "old" mosfets. so waiting for a rev 1.1 to get to me. plus my 9650 coming back from rma after the chinese lunar new year. so i gotta wait will 2 weeks or something.
and i should be getting an f1 ee from kingpin too :D asked him for a NightRaven edition which is more tuned for dice than ln2 :D but we'll see! haha i'd just settle for a normal ee anytime :)
o.O
Sexy F1 EE... you too man????
DICE... nah I am sure a big LN2 party in Singapore soon :D
Congrats ;)
PS: Whats with you and MOSFETS man??? :P Without any modding mine is still alive so I am happy ;)
Exelent work as always KP;)
Can you pm me th price of that Monster?
thanks, regards,
Thunder Boy
those doesn't fint on the 3870x2.. right?
to bad :( time for kingpin to make some magic and figure out how to make it fit :)
cheers
Tim
you can mount an piece of copper as coldplate, and mount the tube on top of that I think, but is far form optimal.
I like the slim units KP, looks like I need to save myself some money to get some of those :D
if tek9 has 100mm wide
they fit on 3870x2 but then you will have 8-9mm gap between pots
(I calculate it from picture)
EDIT
sorry for all, I am wrong (bcoz holes about core is 42,5x 42,5mm instead 53,5x53,5 what I thought
between center of hd3870x2 cores you have 90,8mm
so as k|ngp|n says, you will need special enclousure for this
Tek9 3.0 fit the 3870x2 card with the new bracket that is just about done.
Even with the new bracket however, there is a slight clearance issue with gpu closest to vreg as the they put a power connector in the :banana::banana::banana:ing way. Easy workaround is to solder in power connector to backside of card for benching and your good with old rev on the right chip.
I have been doing some testing with 3870x2 and everything works great, only need to put a very small low profile SB type heatsink on the middle chip with a fan on it and its good up to 1100 or so I know for sure :D
New rev slim version nearly done that is redesigned to accomadate X2 better and still fit single spacing for possible future quad-fire scenario on single spaced board. These container will be rocks like the 3.0's ;).
Biggest thing for me right now is new TEK9 unit for new NVIDIA flagship gpu...thats getting 90% of my efforts. It's gonna be SICK im tellin ya! :D. Your gonna dig it waaaaayyyy more than this 2-unit per card BS...what a nightmare.
Vince, let me get you right.
rev. 3.0 are fitting the X2, but the slim units are not?
Got mine today, looks sweet :)

That looks so sweet !
 Vince you on da roll....
New Rev already... I guess HWBOT would be bombarded with numbers soon :D
Respect, as always!
actually before nvidia cards come out there will be some monster results from another ATI setup
saw some air cooled results today and my jaw just dropped to the ground
current world records look nonsensical :D
:D yeah
these aussies hiding something from us hahahaha~
