Great clocks on the E6550 irev210! I did not know they were that great clockers. Otherwise I would have tried to get one :/
The low multiplier on the e6550 put me off but irev210 and others seem to be achieving pretty impressive bus speeds. So far, no one seems to be able to push the e4500 bus speed over 400 so its high multiplier doesn't do any good?Quote:

I don't know if all E4500 will be M-0, but as I said. That E4500ES is not really that great. I had a E4300 on air, which is 24/7 stable at 3320MHz with 1.37V.
The E4500 was high end watercooled and did not come close to that. Other people I know with E4500ES had very similar results. Thats why I do not think the E4500 will be any better than the E4400. Only if you are using a cheap board that can only do 266FSB max and does not allow voltage increasing. Then the higher multi helps you to get a better OC at stock VCore. Even if 400FSB is the max for Allendales. 400*10 is more than you would archieve using above ambient cooling.
this 6550 is a rare anomaly.
most will not achieve such high clocks at low volts.
I'm playing with a similar one on a P5K DLX thats doing just fine:p:

i can vouch for that with one of the retail ones in my arsenal which is definitely better than any ES i tested.....and i haven't really seen any ES chips that are betterQuote:

My ip35 arrived so has my e6550. Just waiting on my HD and Ill have it up and running. Btw im using stock intel cooler in the meantime till I can decide what I want (and if I have cash left over after my 8800gts purchase, lol).

I got my new e6550 up to 3150 Mhz (450x7 with 1:1)
Stable in Orthos 1 Hour
I tried booting at 500x7 but didn't even post. I believe it's the P5N-E Sli mobo that limits the oc because not everybody can get the FSB up to 500 on it.
So max oc for me is sth between 450-499 x 7 but I can surely go higher with another motherboard. NB got 1,563v and cpu is 1,36v (maybe I should up it?)
Temps are ok, using Zalman 9500 to cool it.
I know it may not really be very good for you "xtreme" people but I am new to overclocking (only did a pathetic 212 FSB OC on my 4000+ before). The Rig cost me 600 € and I only intended to oc it to 3 Ghz at first but I am happy with the results.
If you want to give me any tips on what I could do/try for better oc, go ahead ^^

To the OP, what is the batch number of your e6850 ?
ok, I could bring mine up to 3451 Mhz, but that's as far as it can get and I don't even know if it is stable yet, I'm wondering if I should replace the mobo and get 680i to see how far it overclocks
A p35 should be better for this kind of cpu

Clean the drivers first with DC Pro and then you install the new MB :up:
