Any chance you can post a list of US distributors that will have your rad grills in stock and maybe an ETA as to when each will have them ?
example
Store XYZ - 07/20/2007
Store ABC - 08/15/2007
Nice grill and I'm glad TC people can now have their own grill to snazz up their cases! One thing that has become a truism of late is the Aqua Computer designs it and then everyone else copies it. :p:
oooh another fight brewing
it's like itchy and scratchy
Would these be arriving at Chilledpc in aus? Or is the name sharing just a coincidence?
No propaganda at all. AC did make the first grills like this or maybe it was Watercool (the Watercool design was much more boxy looking in the grill area). Then they were copied by A.C. Ryan and now we have another manufacturer. Being a noob you probably didn't know this. For a long time everyone was trying to figure out how to adapt AC grills to HwL radiators, which was a PITA but doable.
I would have probably used a TC radiator quite a few years ago, but the AC grill wasn't easily amenable to adapting to the TC rad. Never tried the Watercool grills because they were just to hard to come by here in the states. Now that they have grills that fit TC radiators I might be inclined to try one if they come in stainless.
I have an Aqua Computer grill that I've had sitting around for a long time. I just bought a Swiftech radiator and I'll be damned, it fits. Now I just hope Petra or PPC can import some of these newer Thermochill grills. They look great.
Nice touch with the unsubstantiated personal flames again!
Grills are neither proprietary nor are they innovative in the sense of revolutionizing the WC'ing hobby. Grills have been around for a long time. Look at your ventilation shaft, chances are you'll find a grill on it. So how the hell does that make AC the innovator of a product?
It's like saying the first person who moved an LED light from their Christmas tree to a computer case is the innovator of the product. How ridiculous is that.
Can we all just get along? :)
bump regarding ETA in US distrubution
E-mail the guy. He has a day job, a shop a missis all to deal with.
Can you do that!
Hi guys,
Firstly apologies about the set backs, I didn't want to disclose the reason why they were first postponed but the reason was they came back from the powder coaters with bobbly bits all over them. Apparently the issue was with the type of cloth they used to wipe them down after prepping them for coating.
Been sent back, and re-done and quality reached the high expectations of Tom so these have been delivered today.
Problem is with screws now, the original supplier has discontinued some lines and the new one is faffing about which Tom is chasing up. Yet Tom has mentioned the deal with screws and customers in the product description. I'm sure there are users out there who know their screws well enough, but Tom has listed the sizes for you.

AWESOME :slobber:
looks nice.. why not just offer 1 version with screws (TBA?) and one version without the screws ?
Although it would be a nice package deal to include the screws, like most people, I feel we need these ASAP :( with no more delay... but if you must get the screws to be included then I can wait..
Can't help wondering about silver paint too?
Mainly details on when they were going to avalable, what will be coming with them, price and availability in the US.
I can say, I can sympothise with manufacturers more now with product released. Even though they are only sheets of laser cut metal which are powdercoated - the amount of hic ups with screws and clumpy powdercoating set them back.
I don't know, maybe it's for the same reason people felt the need to create 1,000,000 to the power of 10 threads about radiators and vinegar? ;)
I ain't sure, Tom is the best to ask.
Not sure if there are RAL colours in powdercoating to get Silver but I do know watercutting Aluminium ones may be next which opens up to anodising.
That's where my interest lays.
For the grill to go into a Lian-Li roof without clashing visually.
You've got the black cases covered but it's too strong a contrast to use with a silver brushed al case.
Chrome doesn't work with brushed al too well either
Here is mine on my PC343B

Looks good.
Must say, I looked through a lot of pages in the WC showcase thread last night and found plenty of examples of black cases with black grills or chrome ones. Conspicuous by their absence was top mounted radiators with grills in silver, brushed aluminium cases.
With or without grills, top or front mounted multi-fan rads mounted in silver cases are as rare as rocking-horse ...The odd case with individual fan covers are around. Mainly MM owners tired of black MM cases, I suspect.
wow that looks nice... color matches too... question about the screws you used... included or did you have to buy them seperately?
The 4 socket caps in each corner will be the same as the ones provided, the socket caps going through each fan corner was bought seperately as I tapped my radiator to 6-32.
The ones which will come with the grills will be pan head self tappers (number 6 1 1/2" long) as thermochill radiaors do not come tapped.
As for other radiator grills, I'm not sure. AC Ryan and now kickbox with P-PC's have pretty much flooded that market but who knows.
I really hope we can do the Alu versions, that are anodised for people who want more than black.
ok - quick update.
These now come with screws (I think I covered all angles of attack with them)
I dont understand why people wouldnt buy without the screws considering no other grill on earth comes with screws and these are the cheapest (by far) thermochill rad grills in the UK at the moment, with screws this is now one hell of a deal. Probably why they are going out the door nicely.
So updates coming to the site soon, showing the grills off better and showing whats included with them.
Rev2 is in the works - all colours all finishes. However they will be a while. People who want black are best off buying this.
US retailers will be informed before the weekend on pricing
Thanks
Tom

Anyone found out what shipping to australia is for one yet?
Edit- Around $16AU - not too bad at all.
Eh, what can you expect from someone that first, calls a Torx screw gay, and then posts a pic of a tamper-resistant Torx screw at that? Cannot expect him to know what a countersunk screw is in that case. LOL!
IMHO....slotted screws should be outlawed at all costs....followed by phillips screws. Both are quite subject to stripping out the screw's head.....something a tad more difficult to do with a Torx screw or a hex head screw/bolt. Almost wish we in the U.S. had adopted the Canadian screw standard....the Robertson screw. Hard to turn/strip a square headed screw/bolt.
Yeah trouble is ill fitting tools. Phillips head one size driver fits all handyman attack. Allen head these multiset should kinda fit guys attacking a metric allen head with imperial keys. Torx head battering el cheapo pearl river delta third grade tools etc etc etc
About to be followed by one for me too, I think.
We'll see how it looks on a silver case. There's other black parts contrasting with the silver. So it may work visually. If not, I can sell it on and by then your Rev2 colour options might be out.

Well, we managed to find some aluminium that doesnt ruin the laser cutter (aluminium reflects more of the laser back apparently, which is why we were reluctant to rip out 100's of grill and break the £350k machine ;))
Well, that above is the first one - we shall anodise it next week and see how it fairs.
Maybe soon we can have aluminium ones in mass production too. ;)
i still prefer the powdercoated ones :p
Tom
Sorry to bump but I wonder if those aluminium grills is now available for sale, especially the 120.3 version ?
I need one for my project and my WaveMaster is silver so I need a brushed aluminium version.
I will as soon as I'm almost done with my modding project :)
I already checked the prices on yours and it's reasonable for me.
Oooh ... now ... firstly are the non mounting screws one the same size ?
Because, the only reason you would want without the mounting screw is if you weren't going to case mount .... price is the same so if you were case mounting someone may as well drill if for you, right ;)
But if some of us wanted to use them as good looking and low restriction fan guards, we wouldn't want them exceeding the dimensions of the Rad ... they wouldnt look right asthetically.
If you had one thats meets those specs, and was polished to a mirror shine ...
Well I for one would stick it straight on my order ;)
Thermochill do some nice steel chromed ones, but mirror polished aluminium is far better .... oh sorry showing my biker side now :D
BTW .. how thick are the alu ones ?
they are the same specs as the black powdercoated ones. same sizes etc.
I will get dimensions up. The non mounted ones are better in my opinion as the mount points arent really needed, the case is sandwiched between the grill and the fans anyway.
they are 3mm thick
The only reason I see the usefulness of the mounted versions is to avoid seeing the grill slip a bit around and lock it in place. Myself, I'll get the mounted version for sure.
Yup, after trying to install a radiator grill without mounts, I can say it's a right pain in the bum.
Mounted for me also :)
Does anyone know if the ACRyan grills fit Swiftech MCR series? I've drew a radgrill for the MCR220 radiator.
I was able to fit an AC Ryan grill on an MCR320 without issue, with the fans inbetween the grill and rad. The AC Ryan grills feel really chintzy though, when compared to the chilledpc grill and especially an AC grill.

Brushed Aluminium grills in limited quantities.
Jab-tech.com should be stocking them soon as an order has been placed :)
Tom
That's brushed up nicely!
Be sure to keep one for myself (120.3 version with mounting holes).
I've checked over at jab-tech, and I don't see these listed for sale. Is it too soon yet? Or am I just not finding it?
I just got my Lian Li case dropped at my house. One of the grills would be the PERFECT choice for my MCR220 rad.
So, who in the US is getting these? I really don't care who I order from, I just want one.
Gimme some info.
Yeah, so NANNY NANNY BOO BOO, you silly swiftech rad user!
gotta be careful man. people might start thinking your e-thugg'n it if you don't use the smilies
Actually, I drew an MCR220 radiator grill design for Tom to get laser cut for someone else ;). Send him an email via ChilledPC UK shop and see if he can get one done for you.
However, please check the distance between the fans as their are different MCR220 versions according the the kickbox designer. The one I drew is for 19mm spacing of fans.

This is the latest revision, brushed black anodised aluminium.
Tom
I'm currently using a Acrylic one that semi-bowed from the Allen Cap screws I used. I'll be purchasing one from you guys as NO one has them in stock around here.
damn... that puts my 3x 120mm fan grill to shame... even if it IS black...
:D
This is very nice
A very "clean" system (all the wires and so are well attached )
I'm also building my second WC which will include 2 boxes:
Top box - CPU loop (Fuzion, D5 , PA120.3)
Buttom box - GPU loop (Fuzion GFX , 2 x MCP 655 , PA120.3)
I'll upload my pics when i'll finish it
