wow, nice overl:banana::banana::banana::banana: on the core to 871mhz! Was this hard to achieve? Did you have to raise volts to get it stable at that?
http://www.fudzilla.com/index.php?op...=871&Itemid=34
This source says that the R650 will get out only 3 months after R600... 1gb ram and 65nm...
Tell us: is it possible to achieve 1ghz with your ''misterious card'' witout dry ice cooling?
I mean it is enough air or even water?
btw: do you think it is better to wait for an r650 or to buy a couple of r600xt?
Better wait for r650,beacuse this r600 is way to hot :D
I know i will wait
i just saw the ULTRA benches, and they are almost there! Only 100 points of difference! and more than 400 bucks of difference!:D
I've been waiting since november of the past year, so i think that i will buy one now, and another one for 300€ late this year. The r650 will maybe achieve 1ghz, but 2 cards ever beat one. It's math. However i have now an athlon 3500+, not oc'd so i think that maybe it is a little cpu limited a CF config...:(
It will be cpu limited with one card
Tought so.... but i cant' buy a new pc after only one year. I will wait anyway for K10 before buyn' a new cpu. However i don't know if it would be better to go with intel this time, because the sockets are ever the same and i would pay much less a cpu upgrade. Amd is really annoyn' because of their will to change socket every year...
Huh, so the R600 has the same problem as G80 - high idle power consumption. :/ Luckily undervolting- and clocking might do something positive for that.
Sure the R650 might come out August/September but still thats a long shot if they get the process correctly on the large R650 die.
I'd say if you want a card get it now, which ever one you want get it now. If anything you can to a upgrade sometime late next year or early the following year for cheaper then launch price of the new higher end cards.
Hey Denny - can you run some game tests? I've seen so many 3Dmark results of every variety at this point, I am getting sick of it.
Denny, have you had a chance to take off the cooler? Curious if the full jacket water blocks or even the regular water blocks for the X1900's would fit this. Hole pattern and all.
tonight i will post all that 12" pic.
3Dmark03 i can't make it run
it is 8pin+6pin
1GB will be 9.5" for end user, 12" is for S.I
thanks denny will they ship with the 8 pin adapter do you think as hardly any psu have 2 8 pin connectors i have a tagan 1100 quad sli psuand that has 4 x 6 pin pcie power cable but only 1 8 pin and thats a pretty new power supply, i mean if people are planning on using 2 of these in crossfire, i read somewhere that you can use a 6 pin pcie cable on the 8 pin pcie power input of the card is that right, thanks for taking the time to open the subject of these cards up
Yea same question: what about us 4 x 6-pin users? I don't have an 8-pin PCIE2.0 connector, but I have plenty of power for one card.
the XT 1GB GDDR4 will not hit retail, it is designed for OEM only, at least thats what fudzilla says :O , unless AMD change their mind, or fudzilla is wrong.
http://www.fudzilla.com/index.php?op...=849&Itemid=34
wow almost a year b-4 your first post!!!! welcome to xtreme systems.:toast: other people have stated the 1gb version will be available but i'm betting you would have better luck finding an honest politician than finding one of them available in retail anytime soon.

camon baby , thats what i like   :D
regards
thats amazing!
hiya lane don't you think its a bit weird if you have 2 of these in crossfire that you neen 2 8 pin pci power cables i don't know any power supplies that have more thann 1 atm, why didn't they makre the secondary connector a molex or another 6 pin one , i cannot work that one out
what's the number near ''ASIC temperature via LM64''?
Is it measured in Celsius degrees? That would make the whole pc to autoburn to ashes...
what kind of cooling was that done on to actually run 3D with those clocks. I could see 2D showing those clocks but not an actual successful run of 3DMark without extreme cooling.
I would love to find out what overclocks you can get with the stock cooler clean and stable.
i just found out that THOSE are the temperature of the card. I mean they are too weird!!! 200 C° and 19 C° are not easy temperatures to achieve at the same time. How the hell would they have achieved that...
i heard you already got 8.37 drivers :P good luck with them
system used to 16000marks

More or less stock cooler (same heatpipe, different fan)!!! Bloody hell, no water!!
I am already wondering what will achieve with the uber liquid cooling!!!
whats the mentality of ati making the shim higher than the gpu with a card as hot as this obviously people are going to be looking into third party cooling solutions, like waterblocks etc, the polarflo gpu waterblocks i have have been used on 7800gt, 7900gtx and x1900xt and fitted on all these cards, it looks like of the information above without using a copper shim it won't just fit , i can't believe why they have done that its just daft
that copper chunk is from the stock cooler? I thought maybe it was an old cpu heatsink with it being so square lol. It looks like it still comes with that aluminum strip at the back to cool the voltage regulators.
If removing the shroud and mounting a different fan on the heatsink nets good results I will do just that. I have a panaflo 92mm Ultra sitting in a drawer doing nothing. On my sunbeam rheobus it shouldn't be too loud while still keeping the card cool. Just need some ram sinks after that and a change of thermal paste of course.
Crap that Shamino is saying that the spacer on the GPU is higher than the core... gonna be :banana::banana::banana:ty to install waterblocks without having to mod stuff.
the shim doesn't look any higher than the one on the x1900xt and gpu waterblocks went on them ok
when i had x1900 e x1950 i used twinplex pro that is taller in the midle for the core

i hope it works on x2900 :)

Do you have any RD600 board laying around? Does CF work with drivers you are using now? Theses pics makes me think about robbing a local bank.....j/k.
Yeah those are some nice pics. Sexy card..:slobber:
The Enermax Galaxy DXX have 2x 8pin and 2x 6 pin, Silverstone too and i m sure OCZ will release one too...really soon.. all major builder will do a Cfire version with enough 8 pin..
Guess.,.. you use the Asus P5K del or P5K3?... I m really tempted go for a P5Kdeluxe, available here.. ( p5K3 too.. but not the DDR3...)
Too bad they couldn't use the same copper cooling on the retail 9.5" card as they are using on the 12" OEM card. The 12" version is only longer due to the extended fan so using the same copper heatsink should have been used on both. 4 heatpipes would have removed a good amount of heat.
here in portugal also selling asus P5K and P5K3 since last week
be-quiet and Corsair are ofeering free 8 pin adaptor
Quote:
Owners of Listan/Be Quiet! power supplies to get free upgrade to 8-pin PCI Express connectors
If you bought a Listan/Be Quiet! power supply that was made in December 2006 or later, you are supposedly eligible for a free upgrade to PCI Express 2. This means that before the ATI Radeon HD 2900 series is released, you can get the proper power connector. The new connectors will be compatible with the older 6-pin PCI Express power interface, thanks to a simple mechanism to remove the extra pins.
In short, look at the pretty picture, and expect a form to get one of these if you own a Listan/Be Quiet! power supply made on or after December 2006.

8-pin PCIe Adapter Cables from Corsair
As the high-end R600 cards require an 8-pin PCI-Express power cable to be plugged into the corresponding connector (look at the pictures of the HD 2900XT and OEM XTX) especially if you intend to overclock these, power supply manufacturers started to design adapter cables for their current iteration of PSUs that don't come with 8-pin PCIe cables natively. The guys from BeQuiet!/Listan were then the first in providing such adapter cables for free, see the details here.
Now Corsair stepped into the line as well and if you live in the U.S. you can contact Corsair's Customer Service and will be charged for the shipping only an Official Corsair Representative over at the [H]ard|Forum mentioned.
But remember, this will only apply if you purchased the power supply during the last weeks.

im wondering if the cards dont come with de 8 pin adpator , i belive they dont :(

@guess2098: Do u have the latest drivers now?
i am going to pick up P5K-D tomorrow actually
there will be another new version of driver
the currect driver 8.374 is not for 1GB version. it is prototype for 512MB
12" is for SI, it is not going sell on market
so don't worry about not fit in your case lol
For addition, Enermax will sell the cable 8 pin for the modular PSU, like Liberty and some other.... So you can update your actual easy...(for Galaxy "SLI "owner too..)
http://www.enermax.com/english/Produ...y1.asp?PrID=70
Enermax have been crazy if they don't do this: with the price of this one, if you need sell your 1000W Galaxy, for buy a new DXX models :D..
But like there's modular cable on it... all fine... Now i ask me if some manufacturer of PSU will release adaptator for non-modular PSU.. i like my OCZ 850W, i will not regret change for a 850/1000W Galaxy.. but, if i don't need do it.. all good...
Guess? youa re using the P5K.. deluxe or not deluxe? (that is the question.....ok i m tired.. ) for little info i have ( but from peoples got the card).. it should be 16x 4x for the deluxe version... I don't know for the non-deluxe....
"sorry for english.."
Ok sorry... my bad...
i think you will like it.... this board look like a good replacement for I965..
new driver for 3dmakr05 is really strong, i will post it later on new thread...request by Axx, lol
oooo show me the money.
So.......Cool
The firest Graphic Card reached 1024MB memroy!!!!
3dmark... we've already heard that 3dmark-scores don't correlate with real games with R600 (like they would with other cards, but especially in this case).
new x2900 driver OUT , they talk about + 10%-30% performence
regards
Games. Some games are seeing +20% improvements.
if these driver updates continue with a solid overclock I hope games will perform much better than they have been appearing to be. I really need the fear scores to go way up.
I think that the low FPS ins some games its because of the drivers , we should see in next 2 months "a lot" of drivers coming out.
ATi its not diferent from Nvidia to get good drivers , how long did we had to wait to saw a good 8800 series Nvidia driver for VISTA ???
like when windows VIsta was released we dont even had a 8800 driver or like this new 158.19/18 driver that gave a boost of ~500/600marks in 2k6 , ~1000marks in 2005 and ~30 FPS in HL2 ( 6 months after 8800 release)
I think we have to wait for better drivers but i can be also wrong and the problem its not drivers ....
regards
Clear.. personally with a card not released yet... do a compare in games with a GPU released some month ago now with driver have been optimised, have solve stability, and performance problem during all this time.. I like more see 3DMark scores at this point.. right now...
games can wait a little bit.. mature driver.. or the card have def driver on release..( something reviewer forget sometimes...)

I'm sold. :hump:
lookin real good, if they continue to roll out these drivers, this might not be a bad choice of a card.
Did I miss the OS for all the benchies?? Are we on Vista here??
Thats the key for me...performance under the new but oh so slightly crappy performing Vista!!
Certainly looks encouraging though, lets just hope its worth the aggro...
Those drivers, where can we get them?
Any idea?
Any news on ATI opening crossfire for any dual PCI-E mobo (I heard rumors about this, so I'm crossing my fingers so I can use my SLI mobo with two of these R600 babies :p:
It's Beta 2 release, the driver has a lot of issues with it, especially in CrossFire or OpenGL mode under Vista, also image quality has not been tuned yet. While the cards performance will improve with driver enhancements, beware of incredible jumps in scores from early betas where IQ is not dialed in yet. ;) The official 8.38 release is expected to be around 5/23.
