Here is all issulation and mounting for that pot

threaded center pole is nice idea LD, good work
Threaded center pole is original, but bad idea... Heat transfer gets a hit in the face :/
Thanks guys :toast: and thanks tiborrr :D
Kind Regards
Looks really good and like dinos, the work and precession you "put" in the work you do is just :D ;)
Care to ellaborate?

Nice machining
Threaded joint is not the solution you want as the contact gets worsen. You can try to fill the gaps with thermal compound, but that in my humble opinion will not improve performance at all. Besides, the contact surface is fairly small.
Some more pics of complete sets ;)

CU/BRASS is looking like a giant bullet :), great work LD.
@tiborrr
yep, you're corect here, didnt see it was threaded ; )

For comparison:
ALU/ALU: 168g / 194g = 362g
CU/ALU: 522g / 200g = 722g
CU/BRASS: 522g / 713g = 1232g

Hey mate
Here are a couple of pictures of one of your pots modelling.
The look, feel and finish of your pot is just amazing, well done my friend.

OMG LD you  :eek2: :rocker: i'm about to move out the Uk and now your making me want not to get shot of my PC stuff and bench loads with LN2
What was your reason for using brass as opposed to copper or alu? Would you happen to make gpu pots? Or maybe a mini NB pot? That would be great. PM me with info if you want. I'm interested in seeing what the brass pot does.
i got my tube from LD today, im really happy with it..here are some pics of it :d

Hey LD,
nice work =)
Could you send me a PM with the prices of all versions (so alu, alu+copper and only copper) of your pots?
Best Regards
Dennis
nice shiny pot :)
but due the cone and possible internal steppers, you lose mass around the core at the height it should be for sick load holding.
i like the engraving though :D
Belive me that it works very well on load ;)

I'm curious how does thermal stress affect the rubber sealing ring after some 10 or more liquid nitrogen runs? My bet says it will disintegrate due to thermal stressing no matter how high quality rings you use.
@Deanzo: 82k is on a 8800 Ultra with such clocks is a fairly poor run :/ -> 80k on 8800GTS and lower clocks -http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=9239093
@tiborrr: there is no problem for rubber sealing ring... it works perfect i know one guy who run LN2 more than 10x on than pot and oring is like a new.
Those orings are custom made, resistant to acetone and resistant to cold. And you know that there is no direct contact between LN2 and oring.
Regards
Indeed, but the tube serves as a heat (Q) accumulator so the rubber ring still exposed up to -160 ~ -170˚C. Exposure to accumulator is imho doing more damage to the ring than exposing it to a LN2 since LN2 has real low cv value and is a bad heat conductor.
Care to say where did you get that O-ring? Interested in it if it really hold such low temperatures :D
Look tiborrr there is NO problem with oring on low temps.... Make your own thread and discuss about damage...etc on LN2.
Kind Regards
if you won't mind telling me LD, how do you thread the Male portion of something? like on the copper part of the pot, is there a way to thread it without a super expensive pipe threader or a cnc lathe?
thanks and sorry for ot
More toys for playing :D

http://ld-phasechange.com/images/LN2...er/rev2/30.jpg
Regards
I dont know of anyone has brought this up, but since copper and aluminum have different rates of cooling/heating, the metals will contract at different rates, possibly causing a LN2 leak or causing the aluminum shaft to get stuck to the copper base.
Ln2 leak is pretty much not going to happen, and while the shaft could possibly get stuck to the base it will be fine when it thaws out.
Thanks for the kind words
Are you psychic or did you use a crystal ball to work out the clocks for the 3D01 run as they are not posted. in fact the run you posted has higher card clocks than I was using.
And apart from that, it was the first time I had used anything other than air to cool my cpu, so personally I'm very happy with the results.
As for the discussion on the O rings, I'm very new to this kind of thing so I'll only give you my ovservation, after about half a dozen dry ice run's and five different cpu's under LN2, as far as I can tell the O ring seems the same as the day I received it.
Nice LD, I like to see several units all lined up. 7 more frozen processors for our viewing pleasure :D
Another one engraved. :)

Hi
Do you build GPU pots?
This one I`ve got yesterday! Great job LD! In life it looks 10 times better! Benchmarks and results gonna be later! ;)

oh man I like that :D
hey maybe i should post this in PM, as i know this got out of control, but im asking a slightely different question. That o-ring, what type is it? Is it super hard to get and you would like to keet secret? if so just tell me. the only ones i have found only go to -100f :(
Great work
Reed
After 1 week crossing half of europe i recived my LD cpupot:D
First, i was totally blown away of the finish of the pot, real craftmanship, im impressed:cool:
Not tested yet, but maybe next weekend dice, and when i get the container some LN2:D
Heres some pics....
--cheers--
Really nice pics my friend. We are waiting for some tests.
Regards
cant mount the pot like that because you send me the wrong Screws and I do not have the springs for the screws either... :( :(
I wrote you that i will send you new and i think you didn't forgot ;) but i still didn't get GPU pots, i will get them on Friday.
Regards
Just goona be so easy to insulate and test the pot on the Abit IX38 QuadGT, the cpu era is sooo clean. And i got matching Colours ram to my blue pcb...lol..
Crucial 10th Anniversary, my all time favourite set of ram. Looks nice :D performs great too....
Thx LD
--cheers--

New backplate issulation for SS and POTS.
http://ld-phasechange.com/images/issulation/1.jpg
Regards
what material is that?
Are there any differences in performance beetween brass/cu an alu/cu ??
Or is it just a optical gimmick?
are these versions of the pot equipped with the removable centerpole??
maybe a removable centerpole is better then no centerpole for LN2 ;)
regards
Hey, it is no difference in performance between brass/cu an alu/cu.
I only make one pot with removable center pole made of ALU.
Those are all without and they are really good with DICE and LN2.
Regards
I am intending to faver a Pot for CPU but nao I have ideia of the measures of the pipe, will be that voceis it would have some drawing in AUTOCAD or something similar to the measures, I will go to use Dice Ice initially
He would be very grateful.
M@deira
Amazing. YGPM! :D
LittleDevil I love your work
just one question
How much?
P.m me a price please
Now to find out were supplys Dice in my area !!!!!
