May I ask how exactly CPU-Z is being used as a bench?
From what it looks like you only get points for the highest Mhz overall, but not in categories of specific CPUs.
Am I just too stupid to find the right stuff or is it really like that?
Anyway, I am in. Getting a ln2/dry ice container tomorrow, so I can play around. Hopefully I will have the time to.
There are categories for each specific CPU and top 5 get pointsQuote:

Very cool. . .I am up in New Hope all the time! What are you doing later tonight? Phelan, INJViper and I will be gathering to plan a strategy for this contest. Care to join us?Quote:

If i have the 53 points, where i must post them? Or what else i have to do?
I have 5th position in xs.org team! :D
Ohh only new submissions? :( I have submitted most of my scores already
Still waiting for HWBot to refresh with my newest scores, should have pushed me into the 35 point range. A shame my 7900GTO can't compete in the 3DMark series, too bad this contest started after the 8800 era :p: Now time to desperately scrounge around for some points to push me past 50.
Yaarrrrr! Gomeler, you pushed me into 6th and 7th in wPrime 32m and 1024m! Ya scurvy dog! I just need a SS, so I can show you what this chip can really do.
I was wrong. Only have 1.5 points. Got away to go. That and the sig is not updateing.
I see my name is on the list.Quote:

I can't even get more than 0 point. This is harder than PCAT exam. :(
hmm mine is not on there.............and I registered................argh
I couldn't pass up taking the golden trophies  I'd be more than willing to let you bench on my station, you just have to drive down to Atlanta. Still waiting for the points to update, getting close to 50 and still have 2 systems left to bench :DQuote:

New hardware coming. Count me in.
ive been looking, i can get on front page of any bench in my class, but i cant get in the points for any of em ... for example ive got a top 15 pifast score for e6400... just not good enough. :(
Too bad, looks like 50pts is way out of my reach.
Edit - Too note - Hwbot is really addicting, i've never been one to run all of the benches, i usually just see how i compete in pi or 3dmark01, but here i am now running 7 or 8 different benches praying one of them is a winner haha. :) Maybe i should go find a DICE pot lol. :p: Shouldnt be too hard to make one from what you find at lowes... lets see how far $15 can take me :p:
Revv, try wPrime.
Yeah 50 points is a lot harder than I thought it would be....Quote:

Ok, a question: I'm on another team atm, can I temporarily join the XS team, gather those 50 points, and then... well... leave back to my original team after the competition ends? :p: :D
Edit: just did the research, I might be up for some 55 points, goals are set, time to start benching :toast:
On the next hwbot update : It will done
My participation :

just for the hell of it I ran 01 on my work PC.
A Dell GX260 with a P$ 2.4 in it, and 1GB of ram...........
scored 1500 in 01 HAHAHAHAHAHA:woot:
after this weekend I will finally have my new PSU so I'll be able to OC again. These dual cheapo PSUs I'm currently patched together with doesn't allow for any
Next week, open that window wide, freeze myself, and OC the heck out of this system :D
Hey, my work PC is also a Dell GX620.... wanna race? :DQuote:

I want that ram sooo bad though!! Maybe ill go home this weekend to pick up some more hardware... :D
rofl i need some more hardware :)
How many people have achieved 50 points since the beginning of the contest, RichBa5tard? :)
I hear you there :) Tonight I'll be benching and tweaking 4 more computers at my job with a dummy hdd JUST to eek into the 50 points club :cool:Quote:

AS many of us know, Philly_boy is working on G80 Block reviews, but tonight he was introduced to XSOS Benching and well he is like a kid @ X-mas and benching away. Now if we can get him to get those scores to go towards the competition which he does know about.
He scored 10325 the first run, so there is tweaking to come and hardware to push.
Yeah 10325 first run with low OC settings, a brand new XSOS install, and no tweaking... I say NOT BAD!!
Bahh I need a copy of XSOS, asked nnstep for the 2k3 based revision. I've got the clocks to do decently in SPi but I have 0 tweaks :( Guess I'll have to just use pure brute force to do well.
Which on is the 2k3 based? I've got 2 and 2.02.Quote:

Pretty time at Wprime :slobber:
I do a little better with more 200Mhz with my E6600
this bench like higt memory frequency ?
what is the tweak ? :p:
I was running on a clean install of XP Pro with all my 3D Benching stuff installed. I just booted into windows at 500x8 and ramped up the clocks till it was barely stable and then ran wPrime 2-3 times till I got my result. I think the memory was running 5-5-5-12 timings, can't remember and CPU-Z stopped reading the memory timings past 4200MHz for some reason. Hopefully I can drop both times a little bit with a fresh install, more volts, and more cold weather :)
hmm. no special tweak :)Quote:

I really need to do that, would be hilarious to couple some crappy PCI cards with a blazing fast C2D and crank out some 3DMarks :cool:Quote:

Voodoo 2's in sli? :slobber: I see only funkflix managed to get an '01 score on hwbot with a pair so far ... I had wondered if they could manage an '01 run :)
Wow Voodoo2 SLI would be amazing and lots of fun to play with. Goodluck with the cable, woul be great if you could get it working.
I just spent the last few hour or so getting my system back up. I pushed it to hard with ATI Tray Tools and had to reinstall the drivers for my graphics card. I hope I can push more out of it.
I'm In.
hwbot- LostInSpace278
I'm going to sign up for this..
i'm still trying to find that for you, however you have to remember that I have about 6,000 ISOs to checkQuote:

Ive subitted 6 things thus far, but no points. I take it somebody has to 'verify' the results?
Nah, HWBot only updates a few times per day. If you fall into a point category then you'll have your points within 24h

More often now we have a dedicated server. Most stats are recalculated hourly.Quote:

*drool* time to go sabotage all the competition, must get shiny sticks.. Glad to see they are 2x1GB dimms, was worried they'd be the 2x2GB dimms and the OC from them would be limited :p:
edit: is there any way we can start a listing of the amount of people entered in the competition? Perhaps create a special thread just so that people can "apply" so we can start doing the numbers and figuring our odds? I just need something to worry over the next 2 weeks :)
Nice :slobber:Quote:

One question though, why do all of my wPrime results say that the Checksum is invalid???
All Sempron 64 2800+ results (not sorted)Quote:

The only way I know to get it is to pick processors > Sempron 64 > you will find a small tab up there next to results change it to CPUz then click on the score in hwbot results then take compare CPU
Then when I take a look at your profile I found that you didn’t submit your result correctly as it says CPU unknown so you should edit it and in the CPU area you type Sempron then you select it from the list, don’t type it all by yourself
http://img501.imageshack.us/img501/8397/untitledgo6.jpg
Then you will get 2 points
Hopefully it helps
Ok thanks for the help. I knew it said unknown CPU ID, but as I didnt find any CPU-Z shots for that cpu anyway, I didnt edit it. I think it worked this time, so thats another 2 points :)
Good if you can bench @ 3.05 GHZ and with some tweaking you will dominate all the Sempron resultsQuote:

Bah I still need 19 points....
day 2. need to go 9,5 points :)
http://www.hwbot.org/signature.img?t...52&iehack=.png
50 points will be tough, but I'm slowly on the way! I'm just wondering why I'm not on Fugger's list?
i am just wondering, could you lower the minimum number of needed points to like...30 thats would be much more manageable, without the top hardware, you need 15 number 1 results with old stuff to get 30 points....even that is tough
I don't have anything that is close to being considered top hardware and I managed it and then some. Just look around for old hardware, it helps considerably. Every little 2 pointer will add up and eventually you'll get your 50. Shoot with your processor I could even be competitive in SPi, I'd kill for a 32B E6600. I'm stuck with a 32B E6400 instead :p:
it s good for me , 57.8 pts in my account
http://www.hwbot.org/signature.img?t...07&iehack=.png
Got my new corsair PSU finally! :woot: Now I can start doing some real benching. Overclocking old CPUs with crappy ECS mobos isn't too easy to do ;) I've got 10 points so far from those, I still have some more things I can do with them though.
Charles, can you please update the first post with anyone entered/done?
Yeah, it would be nice to see how the competition stands as of right. Perhaps we should all link our HWBot Sigs so we can keep a running tab?
Nah he's keeping it at 50 points, and hoping for a few 50's and alot of trys, that will raise the XS Hwbot score enoguh to hold off OCX for maybe a few more weeks.
Hold OCX off? We've almost got a full 1K point gap between XS and OCX. The benefit of having a huge user group to pull results from :p: Since this contest started we've added ~700 HWBot points or so. I could see that gap widen even further as the days progress towards Feb 14th.Quote:

It'd be nice if you got 100 pts and then are granted two chances to win or 150 pts and three chances... :)
Hmm good idea Hassan :p:
i like the idea of 30 points entry into the contest more.
30 points is too easy though.. we already have a bunch of people with 30+ points. This is XtremeSystems and the contest isn't meant to be easy, Fugger is giving away a combined 8GB of DDR2, that is atleast $900 worth of prizes, ~$450 per winner. 50 points isn't exactly an impossible task, asking for 100 points or even 75 might have been extremely impossible for most people but 50 points is possible for those that try hard enough. I should really stop trying to encourage you guys, lowers my odds of winning.
edit: just realized I broke 1k posts a few hours back.. awesome!
but that isn't the point behind it. its to get as many points for xs as possible and still have few entries into the contest.
