I don't care about the 1*16X or 2*8X. I just hope that the Raid is PCi-E connected... :cheer:

If not then the chipset is quite cheap on Pci-E lanes...

Tony got in late and had had a jet-lag whupping put on him...likely will not get to setup board until late Sunday, European time...so sounded to me like it will be no sooner than Monday now depending on the time zones...

OK guys I have the board running. I am learning the settings so just booting to memtest.

I have no idea on max fsb so DON'T ASK.

NB and mem options are overwhelming on this board, I will be at this for some time and yes you will need a guide to have ANY idea how to set this puppy up.

More to come soon, let me learn the board and I will get posting.

should be sick, now it's just the small matter of getting my mitts on one.

I thinks these are gonna be in short supply, or we're gonna be told they are by retailers if you know what I mean...

What'll be interesting is how the mem speeds hold up under high fsb, 980i does just about 1000mhz real rock stable when fsb is near 1900 under full load for a few hours.

I bet Oskar has given us a crazy plethora of options again, looking forwards to your guide Tony, I'm glad they gave you a board pr release really as you're the right person to get to grips with the bios, and get things upto speed at launch...

I had a bios mailed to me on Friday, tons of fixes.

Go with the 15th still, if i get more i will let you know

No idea of price at this time...not in reality...and the companies making the mobo's don't seem to be gouging...humh? Be Monday or Tuesday before any glimpse into real pricing may surface at my vantage point after contacting those up the ladder in charge. My board scheduled to arrive on Monday...no idea when UPS delivers my area...Fedex main shipper to me...almost forgot...Tony and I should/might/could/hope to hear Monday sometime...just when NDA is going to lift...

@uclajd: it's not 1.6V limit, you can ad more volts through % options, tony posted: 1.6+121.25%
if I calculated correctly that makes 1.94V as max for the CPU, I think this is enough even for kingip, hipro and the lot :D

Guys

I asked DFI to make sure Travis and Robert received boards so that they can look at support issues before they post on the street. Bingo13 and myself have a board.

We are waiting for DFI to release us to post, we should be posting bios shots late Monday all being well and you should see a preview Weds we hope.

Regards the ram, it performs at the speed you set, whether async or sync it does not matter.

When the board is available in stores (and not just backordered like some vendors list it now), or until Travis/Robert have an official report posted there; whichever comes first. ;)

Maybe this is slighty Off-Topic, but i'd like to know the following.

The Inq posted this (Asus preps RD600) about a month ago. Still, I haven't heard anything about it, not even if it's cancelled or not.

But, The Inq posted this (RD600 will be AMD's last chipset for Intel) last Friday and it says this.

well just to keep things moving along I thought I would do some FSB testing. Bios at this time goes to 511 and i can hit 511 quite easy with the 6400 511x7.

You can set higher with the new AMD system manager and I have seen 520 but it was borderline stable. I strongly suggest this board is best with a 6400 or higher, you need the 8 multi due to the 520 ish max fsb you will see at this time. With 6400 or a 66/67 and of course the 6800 you will have no issues ;)

511 puts this board slightly better than the 975 for FSB clocking.

I have an ES6700, I don't think its fair to use ES CPU's as they don't perform like retail samples.

NB Voltages are high, I have a fan on the NB and ram also.

Less than 100 boards coming to the USA, The EGG will have them. They will be onsale before Xmas I am told although i could NOT get a firm date.

I can show bios shots and clocks but no benches. Bingo13 has the exclusive and we have to respect DFI's wishes to look after chosen reviewers. We will drop hints etc so don't think we will just stop feeding info.

Tony, is that 100 boards just this year? There will be more later, right? I do hope that DFI is planning on shipping more to the USA. There are more than a 100 DFI 'ocers here, licking their chops, just waiting to get this board, myself included. :D

There will be more boards, its just near xmas thats all.

more goodies for you all. take a look.

1200DDR 3d stable, still tweaking but this shows some potential to be as good as i680 for dram overclocking. This is 8500EPP part from OCZ micron IC and 6 layer PCB. As soon as I have Flex here I am sure I will break 1300+ easy.

Robert will post here if needed, we have to respect Travis has rules on his forum.

Bingo13 will be reviewing the board but has promised some teasers here for us all....he will be the only one benching due to DFI promising him the exclusive.

Tony if you have konstant any contact with DFi could you ask about availability for Europe? Before XMS? After? And an estimate on how many boards?

And Isn't EPP an nVidia thing or does AMD/Ati have a licens to use it too? Or am I just plain old wrong?

Their is no EPP hook in bios, I was just quoting it is an EPP part.

I will ask DFI netherlands for stock forcast tomorrow.

My first impressions of the board are very good. :D The latest BIOS release is still being sorted out by us and required a little study time at Oskar University to learn a couple of performance enhancing tricks. ;) Right now, the board is extremely solid but my clocks with a E6600 are just slightly below Tony's E6400 results, nothing that a little more tuning on my part will not solve. We will have more later today and will include BIOS screen shots.

680i for SLI.

Seems both chips act pretty close to the same from initial reactions.

Well, after looking at the manual I downloaded, that BIOS is by far the most intensive one I have ever seen. I have to agree with RGone that it will indeed be a time consuming process to set that board up. But I know a lot of us have nothing better to do than spend a few sleepless nights tinkering with a new Lanparty board for our Conroes ...:p:
