All that agree say "yea". :p:
Looking good so far, the tRCD at 3 even at those volts is signature for fatbodies.
Once I finish patching win2k pro I'll update bios.
Speaking of which... will 2kpro work with core 2 duos? I don't have a spare copy of xp on hand and dont want to switch my copy over yet.
I linked him to the Biostar bios. That's the one all the overclockers here use.Quote:

Might try clockgenning up in windows tomorrow. Right now Im just asking for help in the p965 pt thread.

You need a better bios and a volt mod. Can you get either?Quote:

Drop your multiplier in windows using CrystalCpuid http://crystalmark.info/software/Cry...D/index-e.html and see what the max bus speed you can hit is.Quote:

And got to 896 @ 2.1v memtest stable. Getting errors at 900+ though, and 2.2v doesnt gain a single mhz... neither does loosening timings to 4-4-4-10 or 4-5-5-12. Neither does raising Chipset or MHT (or whatever that other voltage is), neither does going from 1.55v to 1.6v on vcore... so Im gonna test cpu to eliminate it as a variable, then get back to memory.
I've ordered also a pair of 1GB sticks, but I'm still looking for a motherboard. The CPU I want is the C2D E6600. Is this memory going to work on a Gigabyte GA-965P-DS4 motherboard? I heard from a guy his Fatties won't boot at the Gigabyte board. Someone have an alternative for me which will support the fatbody's if the Gigabyte isn't going to work?
Ghehe, I just wanted to post that question :D Also got one pair of these sticks. I'm going for a E6600, but don't know what motherboard to get.
Have mailed to Asus, but no reply jet. When I'm trying to call them I only get a fax on the other end of the line ;)
they are working fine guys, from the first boot :) :)

Im starting to suspect Northy temp may be my problem. Im not sure.
Did you lower your multiplier to eliminate the cpu as a variable with CrystalCPUid?Quote:

Don't use clockgen. Use crystalcpuid. It will allow you to lower your multiplier to to 6x, so you can find your memory's max speed.Quote:

Guys... 2.0v 850mhz 4-3-3-9.... I'm guessing that's pretty f'ing good. Haven't tried any higher right now, because my board wont go higher without better northy cooling and Im not about to rip this rig apart AGAIN...
I had to dremel my heatsink, my psu AND my case to fit this rig together, cause this MOBO has socket at the very edge of board, which in my midtower means the heatsink leans on the PSU... heatpipes prevented proper seating... took 5+ reseats and a full days work just getting this rig running.
Uhhhhhh....

:)
I like this stuff.
In windows now @ 425 1:1 (850) 1.8v ram 4-3-3-9.
nice looking stuff youve got.sigh just wish i couldve grabbed a set :(

Fatbody D9, capable of running tight timings such as 3-2-2, 4-2-2 at high speeds of 800-1000mhz with the right voltages. Can handle voltage a tiny bit better than slim d9's we have today and really shine with 2.4v and above. Also, these are in 2GB flavor, very very rare for fatbodies. :)Quote:

Not yet, prolly gonna go through the same hoops as the first so wednesday or thursday.
One note: even with mounting right... DAAMN chip runs hot. Big Typhoon @ stock vcore (1.325 @ 3200mhz = 50*C load.) Imma recheck mounting and swap out fan for an adjustable rpm.
LOOOOOOOOOOOOL
i bought some cheap 256MB stick of Micron RAM to be my "jump start" stick in case fatbody don't work from straight boot
hell i thought why not give it a bit of a run and see what it does heheheheh :D :D :D :D :D :D (as you would)

Seeing some of the results here, I may not even need that V-Mod for my board!
Can anyone confirm if these work on a P5B Deluxe non-wifi ?
First class and packaging is lackluster. BUY INSURANCE!
That said, this ram is sweet. My board the P965 pt is good, but needs mods for any serious overclocking (So it's more like a $140 for the board by the time you're done with it). My cpu is disappointing. 3.45ghz on quiet air TOPS. And temps break 65*C. Prolly around 3.6-3.65 on water... but Im not going back to water cooling. I'm running it 3.2ghz to keep volts and temp within reason on a quiet fan... which means rams running at more than 55/110 mhz slower than it will hit on STOCK 1.8v alone... To think I bought the stuff for a vdimm mod. :P
Any tips for overclocking a 6300? What week is your cpu? Any BIOS advice? What voltage were running at for 3.45? Which heatsink? Did north bridge cooling make a difference?Quote:

3. Auto for last four ram timings, 667 ratio sucks, 533 and 800 work well, MCH and Northy voltage Both affect FSB stability... MCH seems a tad more important, so I'd try raising it first. +1v on both is doable on stock cooling. They overheat at +2 for me.
4. 1.5v or thereabouts
5. Big Typhoon + 61CFM panaflo
6. Havent upgraded northy cooling, but Im seeing graphical glitches in memtest when I overvolt northy or MCH that are evidence of it overheating.
EDIT:
6. Improved cooling + more volts to northy didn't let me get any higher FSB/Ram speeds. It may be a cpu hard limit or something related to the mobo I'm overlooking... cant imagine it being ram seeing as it's @ 1.8v and I can go as high as 2.2v with no gains.
Won't work :( Some say it works on a Gigabyte GA-965P-DS4 , but others don't get it running. Seems it works flawlessly on a Biostar.Quote:

These new items are likely to NOT be the same thing. The description now states that the chips could be from any of the major brands, including, but not limited to Micron.
Memory Capacity: (1) 1 GB - (1024mb)
Module Type: 240-pin DDR2 DIMM, Non-ECC, Non-Registered
Data Rate: PC2-4200 (533 Mhz), 1.8 Volts
Condition: New - Major Brand (Samsung, Micron, Infineon, Hynix) - picture is for reference only Equivalent to OEM part #: A0375066
Warranty: 30 day money back guaranty, lifetime replacement
When I purchased my sticks back in October I contacted him prior to bidding and asked for Micron D9DQW and he replied that he would ship Micron and to just remind him when I sent the payment.
I would suggest to anyone interested to contact him via email and inquire as to whether he still has any fatbodies before bidding.
He had all his fatties last week as Fatbody D9 on Ebay, but not now, so I think all his fatties are sold out. Otherwise he should be crazy to not advertise them as fatties.
But does someone have a few options for me for a suitable motherboard for excactly the same fatties as those from tutti-frutti? I looked for a Gigabyte GA-965P-DS4 but it isn't going to work with those fatties :hm:
My list of "ebay-fattie-capable" motherboards is currently:
- Biostar T-force P965 (Deluxe)
- Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3
And the "not-ebay-fattie-capable" motherboards:
- Asus P5B (deluxe)
- Gigabyte GA-965P-DS4
I asked the guy about this stuff last week but I never got any reply. Very slow response. So if anyone can confirm these as fatbody than I might have to get some more :P
Well, I'm an idiot.
http://www.shbear.com/2/lib/200612/01/340/DSC04192.JPG
Note the two jumpers... one red one black.
One is CCmos, One is DDR OV.
I figured out why I cannt break 460 even raising DDR volts... I'm already at my board's max (2.05-2.1v fluctuating) thanks to accidentally grabbing the DDR-OV jumper when I was trying to clear cmos early in my overclocking... been running 2.05vdimm ever since reegardless of what bios was set to.
So my fattys actually do ~ 900 4-3-3 @ 2.05vdimm.
are you using the same memorie (the layout) as on this pic: http://www.computer-tuning.nl/tmp/d9.JPGQuote:

If you can then compare the stick on the photo to your well-performing sticks. I need to know if your PCB and layout is identical to the one on the photo.
thanks
Identical sticks EXCEPT date and the bottom corner 4 digit number (opposite the dimple) on the chips are different.
Also, stickers match. Only difference I see is the side without the sticker has a significant amount of additional traces in the center of the stick. The side with the sticker on it is an exact match for your stick though.
Enjoy YGPM.
I've bought a badaxe2. I've heard these sticks will work with the badaxe2. I'll have it in a view days.
got mine in
they don't like p5b deluxe at all lol
off to basement to see whether i'll have any better luck with 680i
ROFL guys
i made them work in BOTH Asus P5B Deluxe and EVGA 680i
there's a little trick involved and i can guarantee you every board will run this RAM
ROFL i'm still laughing...i can't believe my last try got them working
btw it's got nothing to do with single channel....i just happened to be testing each stick in a different board........i've also tested them in dual channel successfully...... :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:

i bet ya anything it will work with DS4

Many thanks i've mailed the shop to cancel my Bad Axe 2, DS4 is coming :D
You'll got all my respect
dinos22, nice find. now inspecting the modules we can see that the "regular" sticks have 100% golden contacts:
http://simon.webideal.ca/Temp/Fat%20D9/Fat%20D9.JPG
now the fatbody has 75% golden golden contacts:
http://simon.webideal.ca/Temp/Fat%20D9/Fat%20D9.JPG
although it seems weird that some boards work fine with properly seated ram, but others (for example p5b-deluxe) dont.
somebody confirm this!!!
It's because the contactpoints of the Ebay fatties are a little shorter than other memory sticks. Tutti had problems with a DS4 but with the lifting trick they work just fine. The sticks are also quite well stucked into the slots.
:woot: WOW I never thought of trying that. Great find dinos22:toast:
can you get him to post his results :toast:Quote:

You're great :D You can see what's the problem. They've covered the contacts with some of that green pcb "paint". This is normal and on our sticks some of the metal is covered. If you can clean the contacts you can use them the normal way.
My sticks recieved today:
http://whoei.net/crap/side1.jpg
http://whoei.net/crap/side2.jpg
They have different chips on each side.
SPD side (side1):
5CA11
D9DQW
G86R
Other side (side2):
5CA32
D9DQW
BZTV
No sticker btw?
You can scratch the paint off the contacts with a small flat screw driver. Disclaimer: Didn't try it, only on some already dead ram :p:
Wow, that is kinda risky, RAM might burn this way :D
Yeah, yeah, there is no Xmas in Australia :p: :D I saw people getting Sun tan on the beach many of them wearing Xmas hats and swimsuits. Lol that was a funny picture :DQuote:
