I've heard that they recently use PSC, so I wouldn't expect too much.Quote:

Edit check that post :http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...1&postcount=25
AFAIK they had GMH at the beginning and afterwards Samsung ICs.
http://www.tankguys.biz/ddr2-3338-p-1692.html
Shouldnt these be on the list too?
btw u think picking up 2 of these kits (4 sticks) is overkill because i wont be upgrading my computer for another 3 years probably... or do you think one of these kits are fine. actually which option do u think i shoul go with ? i'm a nub =D
a. 2 kits (4 sticks)team extreme ddr800 cas 3
b. 1 kit team extreme ddr800 cas3
c. 2 kits teamextreme ddr667 cas3
d. 1 kit team extreme ddr677 cas3
sorry for my sloppy typing. im typing with one hand -_- just got surgery today to reattach my right labrum on my shoulder. thanks guys.
Well I am very sorry about your arm hopefully you get well very soonQuote:

The 2 Gb Kit DDR2 (2 x 1Gb) 3-3-3-8 800 Mhz not in the list because it got the same ICs as the 667 kit that costs a lot cheaper so it is better to get the cheaper part and overclock it and you got 99% chance to do DDR800 Cas3
Edit: there is something I forget to mention you said you won’t upgrade in the next 3 years so if we assumed that you got 2500-3000$ to spend it will be better to spend 1500$ right know and spend the rest later say 500$ in 6-9 month and then another 500$ and so on that will be much better especially for gamers so you should plan to split your budget over a time period
Is the G.Skill PC8500 a D9GKX?
Yes.Quote:

OK, thanks for this thread kemo, it really was needed.
I 'm trying to work out a couple of things. I'm running GSkill DDR2-1000 HZ at the moment, which I bought back in July last year, serial 627. I'm presuming they're D9GKX; they run 512 MHz 4-4-4-5 2.2v at the moment in my Bad Axe 1 rev 305 but don't seem willing to run faster at those timings/voltage. The board limits to 2.2v without volt mods, so that's all they're going to get. Is this MHz limit voltage or 975 chipset related?
Secondly, does anyone know the history on Crucial Ballistix? I see that Dumo's EPP sticks are revision 16FD3 and the serials are up in the 72,000 range (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/....php?t=124985). I have an unopened pair of DDR2-1000 which are 16FD and 65,000 serials, so I'd like to know what chips are used in each. Are they all D9GMH?
Pic of my kits -
I think you are limited by both any way 512C4 with 2.2V is good and 100% GKXQuote:

Thanks kemo, that's good. Just gave the base clock a tweak and got 2x SPi 32M stable at 524, same volts and timings (don't know about Orthos tho). Time to open the Ballistix then. :)
man, if the HZs clock like the DDR1 variant, you're in good shape :)
you'r welcome try higher NB voltage you might get it stable @ 533 with same VdimmQuote:

Run great on 2.4V, still on D9GMH :D
I assume you are telling d9gmh based on capability (540 4-4-4)? Nice that they still are. I wonder what's up with the scare of it being elpida. Sure makes buffalo a great deal. Mine (bought in nov) can probably do 540 4-4-4 as well @ 2.4v, although I've only tried 500 4-4-4 @ 2.3v so far (and current motherboard doesn't like it)
You know what week?
I can’t see it in CPUZ
I don't think melco (buffalo) labels that information. But we're all just assuming they're d9's since elpidas arent known to scale that well
They Was D9 so your probably lucky for getting an old kit but all new batches are Elpida it is impossible to sell D9s at those prices only Cruical can do itQuote:

FOR 100000% sure D9GMH :)
Now it is hit or miss but still I can’t say okay every one go and get the buffalo there is people willing to take the risk and others don’t want to also there is no chance to track the production date as buffalo don’t provide any
i bought 3 kits and check every one ;)Quote:

i broke my screwdriver when i trying to remowe HS so i try it on monday when buy a new one :) but the kits was bought that dates on newegg:
22.12.06 - 2x1 GB
27.12.06 - 2x512 MB
10.01.07 - 2 kits 2x1 GB
i've already check my previous orders in newegg and i bought a one on D9GMH 2x1 GB at 10.11.06.
Of course all the time we spoke about Buffalo Firestix DDR2 800 :)
My dear precious on D9GMH :DQuote:

I think that's possible with elpidas. Don't quote me on that though, but I recall seeing someone with 450 5-8-8-20 or something
500MHZ cas5 is possible with 2.1V,2.2V depends on how luck you are
Damn, so there is a huge upside but also a huge downside. Lol. I think the PK kits would do better then the lowside of elpidas? Oh well we'll see I guess. Newegg has a 30 day refund policy.

Kemo660 - where did you get the info that our FSX800D2C-xxx was not Micron D9 anymore?
We haven't changed the chips on that part from Micron to anything else.
Buffalo Technology USA
Firestix it is!
memoryman can u confirm this statement

I am in the market for some DDR2 800mhz and if this has the micron chips as you say I will buy it ;)
I think it be true. Makes it a really good deal :) And I can't remember if it was Hutch or someone else that said their ds3 burnt out mem sticks, and it could very well be the case for me. My firestix are in bad shape, and have never been exposed to obscene voltages. Maybe it's time for an rma soon. If anything, I blame gigabyte and not buffalo
Yup that was me, My S3 has a bad ram slot and it's killed 2 sticks of ram on me... Luckily they were 512mb elipda sticks... Not only has it killed 2 sticks it completely degraded the performance of the other two that still work... Sticks used to run @ 910mhz 5-5-4-5 on my P5W DH @ 2.2v...
Both sticks had stock voltage going through them when they died... Not even gonna bother RMAing them...
Memoryman can you confirm that the FSX800D2C-xxx are still Micron D9GMH?
Good to hear :rocker:Quote:

"Intel X6600 for $269.99" ... Right
it's a typo ;) it says e up top.
then again there is no x6600 it'd be q6600
Yea, I know... The sketchy price and the incorrect name of the chip is very shady...
microcenter is a big company. theyve had the 269 deal a few times
Mm I go to sleep and come back and find more that 10 new posts any way it is not our topic
First of all I am not willing to risk others people money because simply it is not my own, when I add a memory to my list I need to make sure that this memory will be 99% D9 that is why I removed the Buffalo because it doesn’t fit in the criteria and I don’t want people to come and say Kemo told me go and get this and I found bad ICs underneath that makes me feel bad so if there is anyone willing to risk their money okay go ahead but I am not responsible for what will happen moreover I cannot track those buffalo kits because there is no production date and nothing that I can take as a reference
Still I need confirmation and explanation for the pictures provided by handle
BTW it is Kemo6600 not Kemo660 :)
Kemo
You mentioned something about that price of IC d9 will go up, could you give me a link to confirm that.
Is this a good test for non-elpida when I get the firestix in? Elpida just doesn't boot on 2.4?Quote:

Ok cool. But I won't end up with burnt Elpida chips at 2.4 will I? Lol. I'll report back on Friday since it is coming from Tennessee and not their California warehouse (damn).
Hello, this is my first post but I've read most of the topics (as much as possible) in my search for the best 'bang for my bucks' ;)
Although I've read that micron chips are the way to go when wanting the highest Mhz they cost way too much here in Europe.
The cheapest pair of 2Gb i found was around 400$, and that is just a bit too much for me ;)
I'm able to go up to a max of 325$ if i stretch it.
I've searched for 1 kit of the 'best' available manufacturers, leaving out the ones that aren't sold or are way too expensive:
Crucial Ballistix pc6400 450$+
Supertalent pc 6400 450$+
Buffalo not available
All PC2-6400U 2048MB DDR2 kits:
Patriot CL4-4-4-12 (PDC22G6400LLK) ~ 260€ = 340$
Corsair XMS2 CL4-4-4-12 (TWIN2X2048-6400C4) ~ 240€ = 310$
GeIL 2048MB CL4-4-4-12 (GX22GB6400UDC) ~ 220€ = 285$
G.Skill CL4-4-4-12 (F2-6400CL4D-2GBPK) ~ 220€ = 285$
OCZ Plat XTC Rev.2 CL4-4-4-15 (OCZ2P800R22GK) ~ 220€ = 285$
I was going for the OCZ because I saw Kemo6600 advising it to someone else in this topic but the price differences are so huge that I though I could ask it anyway :)
For anybody who might be interested, I search for the memory in Germany through this site: http://geizhals.at/eu/ (just insert the item code in the upper left box and press enter)
I have made good experiences with Cellshock 6400. They are more expensive than your choices, but have Micron D9GMH
If you don't want to overclock very high, G.Skill NQ are cheap and will do the job. At K&M Elektronik in Germany 2 GB are around 170 €.
Cellshock sticks cost 280€ ~ 365$ but have Micron on them :slobber:Quote:

That would have been my choice :p: , paying 100€ extra for Microns just doesn't seem worth it :)
IMO it is not worth it to spend much on the memory if it is out of your budget form the 5 kits you posted my vote goes to Corsair second vote goes to the OCZ
BTW those prices including VAT
Not really Out of my budget but they would change my CPU choice.Quote:

For one of my 5 options I would take the E6400 cpu.
If I get cheaper sticks for around 170 that overclock just a little (maybe 450Mhz) (if I can find them at that price, preferably the G.Skill NQ ones) then I would buy an E6600.
Each option cost me around 460€ ~ 600$. (And yes all prices I refer to are incl VAT)
I kinda prefer the last option because I think it would be the 'fastest' choice but i'll have to wait until the memory drops again.
If you gona use stock cooler then the E6300 is enough, after market cooling E6400 is much better (higher chance for 3.6+GHZ) and for gaming you won’t notice the difference
I have just purchased a set of T800UX2GC4, Super Talent memory based on the many reviews on their website. I was truly disappointed to find out that the memory supplied for the reviews and the memory they actually sell does not use the same Micron chips. Misleading advertising.
I cannot return the memory without losing $50 on the return. I plan on upgrading to a C2D E6600 soon. I have been waiting on new 650i/680i motherboards from Gigabyte, MSI and possibly DFI. (Currently a DFI UltraD user). I really want a SLI board and that's the reason for the wait.
Should I return this memory for some Ballistix?
So you got it and not using it, try to sell it in a forum or to one of the local guys to minimize your lose (20$ max loss) if you cannot sell it just keep it , it is not that badQuote:

Interesting find, got a $20 MIR as well.
I currently am running this GSkill ddr2800 ram http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231065
with a e4300.
I will most likely be switching the e4300 out for either a e6420 or e6320 when they come out. Considering that I will be getting one of those cpus and I am able to exchange the GSkill memory for free do you think their is anything better at newegg than the GSkill F2-6400PHU2-2GBHZ for under 320 or so.
I was considering getting the Corsair 6400C4 instead of my current GSkill ram.
hope that clears it up. I am just worried that when I do switch cpus in a couple months I won't get a decent o/c because this GSkill doesn't seem to want to go over 390.
Your gskill HZ's are the best you can get for under $320...
