Drivers off the cd were a no-go for me too.
Downloaded the (then current) 6.11's and the patch for it, will try the 6.12's when i get home today. Really wanted the omega drivers to work with this as they are much better than the catalysts IMO. Hopefully they'll release a version soon.
Stock cooler oc here of 660/2020 < 75* for me, 100% fan tho :/ that with a D805@4Ghz gave me 19,300 on 3dmark03.
Can't wait for my Xeon 3060 now, should have it paired with a Bad Axe by the end of the week so will report back an updated score then :)
Nice setup winterwind and great clocks ;)

I have to say that this isn't the max of the cpu because right now I'm using it 425x9 @ 1.50v
I'll give a try in a few weeks when, with |RickY| help we assemble the 775 kit on my home-made Single Stage.
Hope you like, as much as I did getting this scores!
Cya all and Happy New Year.

Happy new year:D
Congratz Winter really nice score mate!
Gonna try to bench and post the results this evening.
Jorge
Edit: I'm having some problems, my scores are lower then the ones I got before with lower cpu/mem speed!
I've managed to do 900 Fps on Dragon Low before, now I won't do more than 500... :(
Can anyone give me a clue what can be the cause for this?
System configs:
CPU: 433x9 (1.528/1.6 in bios)
Mems: 433 (2.40/2.45 in bios)
GFX: 720/1020 (1.45v/2.42v)
Let's see if today I can get better luck...
Edit2:
CPU: 430x9 (1.528/1.6 in bios)
Mems: 433 (2.40/2.45 in bios)
GFX: 720/1020 (1.45v/2.42v)
http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/5...7201020gw8.jpg
The problem I've spoke before was the know issue of the pcie x1.
I'll have to improve the FSB for a better score, maybe the GFX too but that comes with time, almost got to 60k. :(
Thanks for watching.
Jorge
really nice score, only little to go for 60k..
i tried 3dmark06 myself with Quadcore cpu..
CPU: QX6700ES 2.66GHz @ 3.20GHz
MB: Asus P5W DH Deluxe
RAM: 2 x 512MB G.Skill DDR2 PC2-6400 HZ @ Def
GFX: Sapphire X1950XT 625/1800 @ 735/2088
3DMark Score 7550 3DMarks
SM 2.0 Score 2621 Marks
SM 3.0 Score 3033 Marks
CPU Score 4920 Marks
why orb doesnt let me to publish my XT scores?
it just says that scores cant be published and read more "here"
but theres no reason why they cant be published:confused:
Anyways Quadcore upped my 2k6 score a bit..
but that bench is fishy, like 3dmark05, they both give more points for 512mb vga memory
and 256mb card scores is just lower than 512mb ones, even with same clocks..
jll try 118mhz pcie, maybe youll get that 60k :)
Thanks mate! Really like the thing you guys teach! :toast:Quote:

Edit: No go :( As soon I up NB core to 1.55 or 1.65 the board just freezes, double beeps and stays looping. Only unplugging the power cord I can bring it back...
Done some OC on the Dominators and I get a wall at 450 FSB at 4-4-4-4, 4-4-4-12 and even 5-5-5-15. Can that have to do with a low NB core...
but try that order/lod settings to run 01se:
Lobby Low > LOD = 0
Car High > LOD = 0
Dragon Low > LOD = 3.3
Lobby High > LOD = 0
Dragon High > LOD = 3.3
Nature > LOD = 3.3
Car Low > LOD = 3.3
it should take you to 60k..
or are you already useing it?:D
Winter thanks a lot for the help mate, I've been using this order:Quote:

All tests done with Lod = 3.7 :fact:
I'll try the order you advise with LOD set to 3.3.
My main problem now is the pci-e x1 bug, because as soon I up my NB voltage to anything higher than 1.45, the board freezes upon reboot. Have to unplug it and wait some seconds to get it alive and have to set NB again to 1.45v to get link width at x16.
Worst of all, I've been testing my Dominators and seems to exist a wall at 449 FSB because anything higher at any timmings (from 4-4-4-4 to 5-5-5-15) will bring errors on memtest, mainly test 5 and SuperPi just can't start.
I'll try to post some scores later.
Guess I'm starting to finde the limitations of my board/mems, because the cpu will only be tested on the single stage.
Best wishes, expecially you Winter.
Cya,
Jorge
Hi (boas)JLL
with E6600 i think you should get 60K , look at this 2k1 score with 24/7 OS , E6600 @ 3730mhz and X1950XT @ 715/1008 = 58500 marks >> http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=9092228
try this order and Lods:
Game Tests : Dragotic Low ----Lobby Low----Car High----Dragotic High----Lobby High----Nature----Car Low
Best Texture LOD's:
Car Game Test = LOD +10
Dragothic Game Test = LOD +12
Lobby Game Test = LOD + 4
Nature= LOD +3

wow, did not realize how much stronger these R580+ cores were in comparison to the R580. Are these still available? Newegg doesnt seem to carry them anymore. I am thinking about switching my x1900xtx for one of these, since it seems the extra 256MB doesnt seem to make much of a difference. The core speeds you guys are hitting are pretty sick .....
my x1900xtx only does 688, and thats with 1.5v. It seems any higher voltage i push into it I get artifacts
Hi (Boas) mascaras how are you?Quote:

Cpu: 400 FSBx9 (2:3)
Mems: 500 FSB
The problem now is when I try to boot at 500 (1:1) the system doesn't boot, the max I could boot was at 480 FSB.
I'll do more tests in the meanwhile.

looks like, the card is more fillrate related. there's no difference in performance between 930 and 970mhz on the memory. :stick:
on the core i'm at 730mhz with 1.525V.

i'm using watercooling ;) 730 isn't the max. i havent't tried more, yet ;)Quote:

i also posted in this thread at the begining about the memory timings that in x1950xt are more relaxed than in x1900xt
But i tested and its better default timings and High Mhz than tighter timings and less Mhz
you got better score with x1900xt timings but only with low Mhz like 900mhz/950Mhz but its better 1050mhz default timings then 950mhz x1900xt timings
regards
Thats true mascara, but the good thing is that with this card were able to get tight timmings at higher speeds than the one by default and with less voltage.Quote:

Just got my Saphire 1950xt in today, and my Thermalright hr-03.
Got the HR-03 on , using passive mode right now (no room for a fan since i mounted it with the HR on top).
So far (5 minutes) so good, temps are only 2C above stock cooling. So I am at 52C idle.
Later I might stick a low rpm/cfm fan in the middle of my case blowing through the fins from the side straight towards my exhaust and see how it OC's.
Stock speeds on my comp got me 11,100 in 3dm05. Same as my x1900gt @ 700/800...So we'll see how it does.
edit: quick test in some quake4, temps hit 92C passive..mmm better get a fan..
cheers
Jesus, the hottest I've seen my gfx was 65º, after some WOW playing hours, and it's using the default cooler.Quote:

i'm looking forward to see your setting, maybe they'll work on my card too :DQuote:

Edit: I'll try to use the same x1900XT timmings with the clocks 720/1020 @ 1.45v/2.145v.
i guys !!
I sold my E6400 and got a new E6600 today :D
first 3dmark 2001 run just for test :
- Conroe E6600 @ 3599MHz
- Sapphire X1950XT 256Mb @ 711/999
- TeamGroup 5300 @ 400Mhz 4-4-4
-3DMark 2001 = 56577

Nice result mate. :toast:
Here some 3d from me.
memory ran with 965mhz + x1900xt timings
i broke the 40k barriar with my little coldbugged a64 :D

Was a little sad about temps last night so I took off my HR-03 today too see if I could re-seat it better...It was only contacted about 1/4 of my processor! So glad i didnt harm anything, so I re-seated it but haven't done any testing yet. Temps seem a touch better (10C less in 2d). Still unsure if it's making good contact.
Another thing, Are you guys upping the voltages to get to 700/2000?
I can't get atitool 0.26 to work, keep getting some psapi.dll error...might have to reformat with winxp to fix it since im on win2k.
edit/update:
Finally got my HR-03 Seated correctly after 3 attempts, You really have to screw that sucker in HARD! Dropped my temps lots. Now im around 65C Load using 3dm05 twice with a fm82 running on 5V (slow and quiet) pushing air across it from the side (sits on card blowing towards exhaust).
BUT, I cant get ATT to work!!!! Im on win2k , and i get a PSAPI.DLL error...I've tried replacing it with a winXP version to no avail. Anyone...help..pls...

I set it to X1950XTX speeds right away.
I don't like the card has 2D/3D modes.
And why I get artifacts even on desktop when clocking too high?
artifacts its because the card cant handle those clocks .
with you are already three guys with MSI´s that dont clock so well like Sapphire , it seems MSI x1950xt 256mb are not so good :(
are you using the last atitool ???
regards
I posted a new thread considering that, those "artifacts" appear even on stock clocks.Quote:

First, does anyone notice that artifacts start up past a certain temperature? Like 75C or something?
Also, what kind of voltage increse is normal? Can some of you post your voltage levels?
What is VDDCI and how important is it towards overclocking?
-------------
edit: Well even though nobody replied, I still got the hang of it. Turns out ATI Tray Tools can't overclock these cards correctly so I used ATITool .26. Final clocks were 700/900, these scores were with an e6600 at 400x9 1:1 with the ram at 4-4-4-12

hi, i've got a lot of temperature issues with this card...
i own the sapphire one with a vf900led; i've been using atitool 0.26 for testing;
the temps in idle are good, around 45-46°c, but when i launch "scan for artifacs" mode they raise up even till 130°c after 3 minutes!! the mobo starts beeping at 100°, but the pc doesn't crash...the strangest thing is that at that temp. neither atitool give me any type artifacts...
so, as a lot of people has a lot of temp. problems with this card, can't be the sensors the cause of all?
thanks for your replies.
I also saw over 110C when I first got my Sapphire X1950XT card while running ATI Tool. It locked up and crashed after that.
A VF900Cu made a big difference but lowering the core voltage using ATI Tool was just as important. I set VGPU to 1.225 volts and VDDCI to 1.40 volts which still allows me to run 649 MHz in 3D apps without any artifacts or problems. The memory can be overclocked from 900 to 1000 MHz without any trouble with these settings. You definitely don't need 1.425 volts for VGPU unless you're using water and are going after some big MHz.
With this one tweak this card has gone from unusable to a great card. It's nearly silent and the performance is excellent at this price. Sapphire should release a bios update to bring the volts down to a more resonable level. The insane amount of current going through the card takes a big drop when the volts come down. Less amps also equals a lot less heat for your heatsink and fan to deal with.
Can anyone post the (stock) BIOS file of the Sapphire card?
Thanks in advance :)
any one post anymore
Mi©hel With what memory? I have with samsung.
Enyone!!! Help me!!! I tired finding best driver setting because ATI Tool 26 or 27b1 dont set "driver tweaks" immediately after applying. Example: load atitool with 3d clocks -> change lod -> run 3DM06 -> but lod still +0.0... Settings dont applying........... sorry for my bad english
Say me best lods for 3DM03, 05, 06 pls.
i feel like asking a question has anyone noticed the 3 pins between the v reg 's and the stock hsf near the top edge of the sapphire card, what do they do? slo if you look at the back of the card next to the xbracket towards the dvi ports there are two VERY small switches anyone have an idea what they do?
Could someone repost a x1950xt rom? I am having a weird problem with my card and I was wondering if maybe the rom got a little corrupted.
Thx
My x1950xt is terrible. Using chiller (E6400 @ 4050MHz 1.8v <+13C under load) I see +8/35C idle/load in ATI Tool with max voltages. I did only 749/945MHz stable (samsung memory) R580 veeeeery hot, I can't imagine how hot is R600...
BTW: 2nd place in single Aquamark 160062 points: http://hwbot.org/result.do?resultId=606406 Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zat_Nz7qxkY
I did with my wc 730/1000Mhz (naked hynix mem) on stock V
