Hey charlie vacation in somewhere chilly and scenic West Yellowstone.

Nothing to see in ND except the end of the world and north dakotans with greatly amusing Scandnivain accents and make good fodder for jokes here.

Hasn't got real cold here where I'm at but hey we were around 0°F for lows in sept. so it should be a cold winter.

I think Yellowstone has a better chance of below -30 in January, rent a P/U and small gen to throw in back and you can bench 12-5AM when it's the coldest. Take an H2O pump, rad & fan, find a small blue hole and you have heat all night :D

Its still lowest of 30 around here in maryland, no sub zero runs for me anytime soon.
Would like to see the 165 @ subzero though.

Charlie, fly to MSP and either rent a car or take the train. It is about 4 hours from MSP and about 1 hour from Canada. The grocery stores wont have dry ice, but there are a bunch of bait stores that will carry it becuase of ice fisherman. You are guarnteed at least -10 degrees in January though.

Now as a practical matter... how does this California boy stay warm benching in -25C temps at 3 in the morning?? Lol... Hopefully I can find a hotel with a balcony so I can put rig outside and bench inside with the cables running thru the door. But that's not really XTREME, maybe I need to set up on a snow drift or smthg.

Do what I do wear shorts, best part about it is you wont be mistaken for a tourist but you might be mistaken for a nut case.

Anyway probably the same way you bundle up for skiing however you do that in cali. If you keep your hands, head, and feet warm though all you need is some windproof meduim weight stuff for the rest of your body, which I believe you can buy in california although you guys seem to like them wear them when its 50°F outside.

Failing that theres always heated snowmobile suits. ;)

Cat5 kvm extender is the way to go.. no need to accompany your gear out there.. the only thing humans do faster in the subzero cold is shiver, get sick, or die.. or all 3 :eek:

lol that's freekin great! Outstanding temps and no pneumonia! Only 25C at 1.6+vcore is nice too. I know whay you had bare feet... you started a superPi 32M and went back in the house for a slice of pizza and a few minutes of tv, right?

I did some max clock runs a few days ago as well.
My main intention was to get fresh air into the stinky room, but when I came back from lunch I noticed that its freezing cold and dexcided to test if I can get the old Sempron a little higher.
Roomtemp was 14C. Unfortunately I have a eatpipe cooler and I didnt bother to open the case, because I was in a kinda hurry.
Will do some chilled water runs in the garden soon. :)

According to CPU-Z search the WR is 37xx Mhz. Dunno if that is for real or not.
Cant wait to see what it will do on chilled water. Hopefully the Eheim likes cold water :P

I dunno if its a fake. I am running 400FSB on air and Fr@me did 3311Mhz on air aswell, so with phase 3755Mhz doesnt seem that far off.
But what I am wondering is the high ram speed. Must be very good TCCD.
Dunno what the FSb record for S754 boards is, but my board can do 400Mhz without a Vchipset mod, so that 470Mhz could be possible with mods.
But usually people with that great OCs, post them here and I didnt find anything about that..

Its the same thing here on the other side of the Country in Northern Jersey, its in the mid 60s here and no sign of change in the near future. I want some cold weather so I can push this Opty 170 beyond 3G and we just have not had any real cold weather yet. Im thinking of making a chiller to add to the water loop.

We got snow yesterday! none of this was here 2 days ago, it's about -8C out today. Overnight was down to -15C. Getting cooler and cooler by the day.. Just took these 2 min ago from my balcony.

you must of checked the temperature at the wrong time. it was colder than that in the morning. It was ~ -20C @ 7:30AM

I had my dothan @ 2.8GHz, with a Zalman CNPS7000AlCu @ 10C load last winter. And that wasn't even outside. I just had my bedroom window open. it was ~ -30°C or so. :p:

Down here in south east Texas it's still a little warm think it's about 70f outside right now.:( My new mb should be here in the next few days and a cold front should be here about the same time. Might be fun I miss ocing in the cold.

wow that's amazing. It's truly hard to imagine how COLD -40C really is. I grew up near Chicago and remember maybe -15C or -20C.

No but we did have about a 20f drop today and I should have my new mobo by Friday :cool: I don't know how the EP8RDA3+'s are fo OC'ing but I do know my mushkins and barton did 250 on an unmoded 8RRDA+ and I got a good deal on the board from an old friend and it's new at least.

There's too much talk at the moment and not enough benching .. as far as i am aware there has only been one shot of a bench in old weather up to now with a thermometer to give you the ambient and that was me .. and that was a measly 4C !

The Temp Never Drops below 10C here :rolleyes: :rolleyes: . 12C was the Record IIRC :rolleyes: , currently its something like 19C, but Winter has not really started yet here :D... Lets wait for Dec-Jan.

BTW will it cause any Permanent (Spelling ? :rolleyes: ) Physical Damage to the mobo ? if i keep the whole thing inside my Freezer ? just like wht ruggero did ?

Same here. The temp here in Summers avg around 38C n goes upto 48C :eek: to the fullest in the month of May

Hopefully Winter has just started, n its already avg 15C...It will go to 8-9C someday :D.
