Hey!
watch CPUZ
is show E6600 r there?
how about some higher then 1:1 overclocking?
I want to see if the board can handle 1.1 ghz or more on the ram, without crapping out.
Did you give the nb 2.0v for 445?
what's vdroop like on this one
how does it clock RAM
wonderful FSB for 975X motherboard :)
interesting that it doesn't have 400 strap
E6600? thats interesting. This is all on air right coolaler?
yesQuote:

as said before, this might not even be the BIOS that comes with the retail board. This might even be a beta BIOS, who knows. I'm pretty sure Coolaler knows, not sure if he can tell us though.
thx for the precious info :toast: :)
this is indeed a pre-release bios and more can be expected as the boards get closer to retail.
also the final colour scheme is the blue/black as seen on this forum
really? I thought ABIT announced that the color scheme is red and black, its says so on their website. http://www.abit-usa.com/products/mb/...es=1&model=326
at the bottom, under form factor, it says PCB color: black & red.
LOL it says its a E6400 in cpu-z when the multi. is set to 8 & a E6600 when multi is set to 9!!! :p:
Also check out what it reports the multi range at for each of those. The one where it recognizes as a X6800 reports the lowest multi option....thats funny stuff. I never knew my E6400 had a multi option of 11! :p:
thank you for pointing that out. website will be fixed asapQuote:

Please tell me it will... cause i am in love with this board, and itll prolly b my next buy... but PLEASE tell me it is HIGHLY oc'able with the e6300....
don't worry.. coolaler is going to have lunch... later he will give you more :banana:Quote:

Hell yea im gettin one of these boards when they r availible.Bios settings looks great so does the board itself  .Thanx for your efforts Sir Coolaler hope too see some more :fact:
is this board having trouble with high RAM clock coolaler?
coolaler that 3dmark06 cpu score of 2300ish pts at 4000mhz seems a bit low ???

This board seems like a winner! Finally something to dethrone the PW5-DH.
the one thing I am skeptical about is the fact that they are 'ES' chips, which are known to OC a lot higher then retail, with most boards.

A point I made earlier in the thread that did not warrant a response:rolleyes:Quote:

There seems to be a popular myth about ES chips. They are not necessary better or faster. In fact, the retail X6800 has generally proven to be faster than the ES version. Most of the people who believe this myth probably have never used an ES chip.
Overclocking is also very dependent on the person doing it, as well as his skills or lack thereof.
coolaler, please try this board with RETAIL chip (6B2) ex E6300/E6400/E6600.just for compare with ES chip.thank u
yes? no?Quote:

be greatfull he even shares his info rather than demanding he test to your specification..
Agreed. Maybe coolaler should start charging a fee for every test people want him to run.Quote:

i don't mind when people ask me in my threads.........they are not asking him to walk on one arm while soldering a vdroop mod with his toes
CF support? I see SLI running on this, is that with a hacked driver? Thanks for the BIOS info Coolaler.
are we going to see the hipro-thunder going soon with an Abit :toast:Quote:

However the results are nice, I'd might just buy this baby for benching ;)
the motherboard has its own debug code set on the board.........no need for a card (or is there heheh)
That I don't know. I needed only 1.55v on the Asus board to do 470-475.Quote:

Nice Board! The 3d06-Score is very nice, BUT in 3d05 even i got a higher Score at Stockspeeds(6600-p5wdh-7900gx2@13684) Maybe Abit slows down the Subtimings on high FSB???

must be MCH 1.7v:)Quote:

some guys want me to test retail CPU
let me share my experience
in fact, you can go to higher FSB of retail CPU than FSB of ES CPU
and some retail CPU have better oc potentiality than reversion s5 of ES CPU.
Also, I don't have retail CPU now .. that's it
Thank you for your results coolaler... I am new here and appreciate the tests that you and many others run. :toast:
delete it
Thanks for the review coolaler, always appreciated  :toast:
Thankyou Sir coolaler.
great stuff, this review has shown me the true potential of this board, would have never considered it otherwise.
I like the 6 port raid setup as well, even better then the asus ws pro boards!!!
thanx!
Nice board and result's. Try to max FSB with retail CPU ;)

I think ABIT needs to give us first dibs on this mobo ;)
Its definitly my motherboard of choice come Sept 15th.
And I do have question about this board, if you have ram that needs 2.1V will this mobo "auto detect" that voltage or is the default 1.8 ??
I really don't want to have problems with my OCZ Platinum w/ this board but I'm sure I will
Coolaler, could you try seeing the maximum FSB you can get with E6400 at 7x? :)
hey.. you are a pro...when I use my ab9 pro, it will set the default frequency of memory to 266mhz. After that, it will boot up with default 1.8v, and I can enter into bios to set the voltage and the frequency that I want.Quote:

What does "you are a pro" mean? And I asked the question because some rams don't function at 1.8Quote:

man thanks for uploading your work , we should be gretful for whatever he has to offer , this helps us consumers to get the right board , thanks coolaler , keep up the work you do.
Thanks coolarer I have always been an Abit fan. I can't wait to see the Abit RD600 chipset board. For you people from abit that seem to be reading coolarers post. PLEASE!!!! Work on a board with some PCI x slots and a useful pci-e pci pci x layout . If you don't the Pro workstation board from Asus is going to kill ya. I don't like Asus much . AS of right now ASUS wins !!!
nice review coolaler :)
We should invent a coolaler and WWM holiday here on XS. These nice fellas always come up with geek pr0n for us. I love them.
Nice review and results coolaler! :)
Seems like a sweet conroe 975X board.
Ok... but how much is it gonna cost ???
And how is the just AW9D?
Thanks for sharing :D
I don't like the layout:
1. PCI-e slot #2 if used blocks only available PCI slot.
2. If full length card in PCI-e #1 memory latches probably can't open.
3. If full length card in PCI-e #2 two SATA ports are inaccesible.
4. Capacitors and a filter right below PCI-e #1 could conflict with dual-slot video card.
5. No PCI-e x4 or x8 connectors, just 2x PCI-e x1, one or both of them inaccesible depending on the video card used.
6. Molex at the bottom requires some ugly cable to stretch to the bottom of the case.
7. Heatpipe system doesn't help cooling a bit (pun intended).
8. Battery is placed very incoveniently.
audio pozdrav
Thank You Coolaler  :) My new MoBo :toast:
It's true, but who cares :slapass: You have another MoBo :p:Quote:

i just hope i'm quick enuf to snatch one up before they're sold out
for those complaining about the single PCI slot ..... this board is not for everyone and is meant to be an OC'ers board so if you need more than that ....... just get a different board ...... i am an AVID ABIT Fan and feel good knowing they are getting back into the OC'ers community
thanks again Coolaler:banana:
EDIT: in the pics with the Heat pipes removed it appears to have 8 phase power PWM if the this true plz confirm if not to much trouble
4 phase .. :)Quote:

Some people running lean systems will get away using this board, fair play to them. But it would not have taken too much thought for Abit to have moved the pci slot away from the second pcie. Instead they filled the gap between the 2 pcie's with pcie x 1 slots, which quite frankly are a waste of resources, as there are very few devices that actually use pcieX1. Many people don't care about pcie or pci slots, but quite a few of us do need them. If you are going to provide slots (which abit obviously is) why not add proper ones, spaced out effectivley enough to use? I suppose ABit tried to max out fsb performance by keeping the whole pci-pcie bandwidth lean to reduce nb overhead.
The price point is the key to Abit's succes here, thay need to keep the board sub $250 if they can anywhere over that is getting too close to the Asus Pro boards which offer more upgrade options. The one thing that can make this board a real killer is if Abit manage to enable a forced 1333 fsb strap option for the users, the then available high fsb will make the board attractive, especially on the 975 Crossfire chipset. Using the 1066 strap we will probably see this board maxing out somewhere near the Asus P5WDG2 Pro, which is more expensive, but allows far more slots for everyday use and is just as overclockable.
I really hope that Abit can offer the force 1333fsb strap in bios, it will make this board stand out from the crowd and offer the highest outright 975 fsb available. I know it's early doors, but now is a good time to ask for what we need to see on this board in terms of bios options, if ABit cares about it's overall sales, they will take note and perhaps work toward making this board a real 'MAX'.

Raja
good review guy!
and i concure the layout is a total turd
i thought these stupid R&D people had gotten their heads out of their rears ages ago when it came to ram latches hitting video cards.
and way too many of the new boards are slamming the sata ports right in the way of the 2nd pci-e
not sure who checks over these guys layout designs but someone seriously needs to wake up.
i am looking for a new and better board but no way i'll get it if the ram is THAT close to the video card.
coolaler can you comment on how close the ram really is to the video card ?
and i have to know
this this board the final retail board cuz if it isnt,, then :nono:
I'm trying to push for a 1333 fsb strap option in bios, here
http://forum.abit-usa.com/showthread...792#post752792
please register your support on that forum thread!
we may see Abit respond yet. It's the only thing that'll make this board reall attractive to all users, as it'll be worth perhaps giving up some peripherals for the super high fsb.
If we don't ask now, we certainly won't be seeing it in a few months as ABit will be concentrating on other boards, we all know this happens with bios refinemment, you have a 2 month window to get what you need, after that it's wishful thinking..
regards
Raja
how come this board only has 4 phase power when the ab9 had 5?
very nice board. I will give it a try. It remembers me as8 ;)
