OMG!!!
Crazy Work man ;)
Go for the barrier of 9.00 sec :)
Congrats!!!
Liquid Helium IS way too cold for computers, end of story :p:
awesome!!
really impressive
maybe one day we'll see helium liquid...ln² is still enough cold all the same ^^
i don't think that it is too cold, maybe it didn't boot because of cold boot bug... probably is possible to boot with a higher temp (-100 or something like that) and then drop it inside of the pot to full cold power :P
what's the liquid helium temps? -256c isn't it?
coolaler, its not interesting any more ... loL
How is someone breaking WR's not interesting?

congratulatoins man...
9s was vert fast!!
i hope you get tour 8s.. :)
I wonder how much time is being spent writing the times to the screen and windows having to redraw? I've found in many cases, hiding the window will speed things up.
So, perhaps when you get the 'GO' dialogue, before hitting it, open another window (say another instance of SPi) and place it over the top of the first. Then hit 'GO', wait for it to finish and then have a look. You never know.
btw, rockin' result :)
@ millzee:
The whole 'printing-to-screen' - work is done by the GPU!
So I don't think that this would effect the SPi score!
But ... in the end you're right: you never know! ;)
Wow .. That's crazy nice going :DQuote:

kudoz@coolaler fpr another WR!
I wonder if someone counted how many times u broke it since conroe is out there^^
little theory:
maybe SuperPi has a bug that preveals to get faster the 9s?
I never had a runs at exactly the same time than the run before. Maybe a Software limit?
iLL
Great results :toast:
8.xxx soon

CONGRATULATIONS! :toast:
What is copywaza? What are the chances of getting EXACTLY 9.000secs? Good luck on 8.999! I get 4min29s lol.
Congratulations !!!!!!!
Its great to see how the C2D performs at those amazing clocks.
Go for the 8.xxx s :)

They are more expensive than liquid nitrogen because the cascades used to make the liquid are very expensive to run. I remember reading somewhere about a Helium cascade that took 70mins just to start up!!
Didn't I argue with somebody, perhaps Charlie, that 9.00s wouldn't be broken till the end of the year, and no chance of getting anywhere near 8.00s till well into next year?
Well, still waiting for the 2nd part, but I guess I might have been wrong on the first part. If you get <9.00s before Dec31, 2006, then my prediction would have been proven wrong (btw: I think it was made when you were still trying to get down to 10.00sec.. which was very exciting :)
