Dudes! He just posted 8sn SP 1M and you're still talking about AMD vs. Intel?!?!

It's roughtly 25s total for each of the 4 instacnes of Super PI 1M, he was taken screenshots at 3 distinct time indexes.Quote:

This is the point were fast gets another meaning, Intel....
I think I'd want one of these :)
Could we please see a Rosetta bench with this monster?

dual dualcore to be exact. Anyone got the benches hanging around for some comparrison?Quote:

In that case, i think i am going for a X6900 4Ghz (or more) air 24/7 :) Well if its not $999 then count me in.
That's just brutal cinebench results!!

wow it sure performs well in the right application
and whats AMD doing ?
Using DDR2 and nothing else.
No performance increase at all.
They must be having some serious meetings around the board room table.
How about jumping forward 18 months right now ...!?!
I just woke up, asking myself why so many people where in the intel section.
well here's the anwser.
Results a skyrocketing again. And it's just the begining!
Good luck there. Awesome to see this
Nice results coolaler. Do we know the prices for this monster?
whoa kentfield is already here? Dont think Hector Ruiz can say "cpu power doesnt matter" about this one.
A multimedia monster.
Thanks for showing us.
Man, that is simply great. What I will like to know is that what kind of cooling was used.
Amaizing chip
Run 3D06  You might be the first to break 4K CPU score, I don't think it has ever been done :woot:
again hate to be a stickler:
E66 1.54v 4G daul 1M PASS! 1.5V 3.9G dual 32M PASS on AIR
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=103918
but then again, with better stepping im sure the kentsfield will OC well
rosetta, gaming, breaking WRs, encoding videos at the sametime! :)
AMAZING RESULTS AS ALWAYS !!!
btw - will this cpu be supported by Bad Axe rev 304 ?
can someone tell ?
18? 12 months from now AMD sells a genuine quad core K8L with shared L3 cache and major IPC improvements, while Intel hasn't released this 2x2 mockup quad CPU... what's wrong with this?Quote:

this is some brutal stuff. All there is to it is to write applications that can use quad cores. This cpu shure does show allot of strenght in benchmarks coded fop multy cores.
Quad cores reveald so soon. Nice colaler;)
Still right now for the future 2 years i would go with conroe for gaming, this is a legacy chip in my mind it fits the server market more then for average consumer. All thou it all might change in future if Nvidia codes each core to work for one of the Gpu cores. It could be all about drivers. 2xsli GX2 anyone:toast: ?
You have same performance @ 3 GHz than 3.2 GHz ... Everest says 2.89 GHz in all case.
Why ?
What a twit.Quote:

People are being too quick to dismiss AMD. But they forget we don't get any Eng. samples tested (without NDA) from them untill a few weeks before the final product is launched. It's a very different case from Intel, Kentsfield is about 10-12 months away still, you could compare this to someone testing K8L under socket M2 already.
Appart from that, congrats on the tests Coolaler and thanks for those ridiculous scores. Me want one.
Wrong place for such an argument ;)Quote:

What to do if you meet someone of AMD:

Didn't think we'd be getting results so soon; nice work.
How about getting some screenshots of load and idle for each core and all cores with "Core Temp" running?
It got to be interesting to see some temps readings.

Nah, you just plug your ears while they dream on about how bandwidth starved Intels are, and not being real quad-core.Quote:

Kentsfield is 2 Conroes so the heat output should be twice as high theoretically. That doesnt prevent it from OC'ing 33% on stock volts so I would like to see what temps really are, or does temperature meannothing to this beast?Quote:

Anyways this thread is about Kentsfield and the thread crapping needs to stop.
Thank you so much for all your work so far, Coolaler. I think alot of people would be interested to know about temps (is it 95W TDP and cooler from the picture?), as well as seeing some of the media and encoding benchmarks at overclocked speeds.
In particular I'm curious to see your tpMPEG encode of that file you have at 2.9-3.0GHz so I can compare it to your data from the 2.9-30GHZ Conroe encodes that you did.
Cheers!
Not mine but anyway:

Edit: If interested, this is my posted CPU-score (can only have one result published):

Wow, I didn't expect to see Quad core so soon.
This is getting ugly, kenstfield is Intel just twisting the knife they stabbed in AMD's heart with conroe.
Yea Quad Core's are nice when you want to do some rendering or/and encoding, for gaming and most other apps it won't be much of a gain at least for near future.
Coolaler - you have the BEST contacts dude, I cant keep up!
Looking good for 07 :)
funny u mention that, i think the guys over at epic have something planned for 2007 that makes use of the four coresQuote:
