Yeah I'm thinking the NF5 Intel edition could have trouble. It's usually a bad sign when Asus won't give your board the time of day. Sure SLI would be nice, but if they figure out how to do it on a single slot, that's fine, and if not, well I've lived with a single card till now just fine.
And if I'm choosing stability and performance vs SLI, I think SLI has to go. I can use more than 4 SATA but honestly, the 975's all have additional beyond the 4 so that works.
The question is, is the 590 really bad or just preliminary? And second, are they going to update the 975 so it clearly outperforms the 965? Because if you start talking just a single x16 card either the 975 or 965 will do that.
Need to see some side by side performance here (in a place I trust to give quality results) before I'm going to say "yeah I'll buy that" to any of the above.

Even P5B-Deluxe has only 1 16x and 1 4x, You can see it from the capacitors beside the slots.

Yeah, 975 for 8x/8x or NF5 for 16x/16x. That really seems to be the last 2 contenders here for me.

I wouldn't touch an ATI chipset with a 10 foot pole, and neither Via.

It all depends on availability at the time, Personally I prefer the P5B Dlx because of ICH8 and I dont want/need SLI and it "should" be cheaper than the P5W DH though its impossible to get an exact selling price on either ATM :)

well the board had the 965 chipset and it fully supports conroe and conroe has EM64T (yes its not EMT64), then i dont see why it wont...Quote:

I dunno if anyone else noticed this but when i was oc my p5b dlx and had the vcore @ auto and went to health menu it said it was running @ 1.55Vcore i was like wtf... cause i just installed and my cpu temp was low 60s
so i put it manually @ 1.325 and violla 40C temps... just a fyi
i can push mine to 600
cadsii: P5B-D iun auto mode raises the voltages... seen same thing, and set up manually, high tems gone.
ps. but according to RMClock, internal thermo-diode shows temperatures around 75C+ under load (6300 @ 2.8Ghz). not too good...
