No it dosn't work. It's not a matter of memset's version it's the bios

depends on your cooling. For water or air, and a main rig. I wouldnt go over 1.49v for long term use. The safe max is hard to say, it all depends on your cooling. IF running phase, 1.65v-1.71v or higher for example would probably be safe for a decent amount of time. I think the wall on this chip is probably 4.5ghz even on ln2 if i had access to some, hard to say though.
Im now running 3.3Ghz 1.35v with ram at 920Mhz 4.5 divider and all seems to be well. My cpu idle temps are now 34,34,36,36 man them 2000 rpm 120mm fans do ther job!!!
has anyone heard anything about the abit IX48 MAX Board yet!
Can someone help me here...
I am preparing for Ace-a-Rue's bolt/heatsink mod on my "Server Rig" (see sig), and I've been following this thread closely for some time now... but before I disconnect the HS, I'd like to know which is which. So based upon the following diagram, which one is the NB, SB, & MosFets PWM ?
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y10...ram-color2.jpgI've even circled each one with a different color (RED, BLUE, GREEN)
Also can you remind me again, which one I need to use MX2 on and which to use AS5?
My assumption is:
PWM Mosfets / MX2
NorthBridge / AS5
SouthBridge / AS5
But just want to be sure
That's it BassKozz.
I would use mx2 on all of them and also put the paste on the pwm heatsink to be sure of good contact as ace said. I used 20mm M3 size bolts and felt washers as i could not get any rubber backed one`s .
I'm sorry but I had to chime in on the idea that 1.45V+ isn't safe, I find this to be categorically untrue. My vid on my old x2 4400 was 1.2875, I threw 1.55V at her and she still purrs like a kitten for the past 2+ years...Not to mention my other old 3800+ that I put 1.55V on and guess what? She STILL lives and that is 4+ years ago...while the 3800 may not be the best part of my example(default was 1.4+)I have for the past 8 years had every proc I have owned at 1.55V and their all STILL here and perfectly operable.
Back to the Q6600, again, it comes to down to cooling; if your on air the max VCORE to use is around 1.58V. If its water, 1.63V; if it's phase or LN2 1.7V...
What kills CPU's is:
1. Consistently high idle/ load temps(i.e. idling at 50C+)
2. 500FSB+ 24/7
3. Consistent power fluctuation(irregular voltage regulation, power delivery)
4. God
ive just tried all that together a few minutes ago. Cleared the CMOS , Took out the battery , Pressed the power button while power lead was plugged out , Unplugged the 24 pin power lead and took out 1 stick of ram. Left the machine off for 15 minutes. I still have no ethernet connection on the motherboard. But thanks for your help ACE
No go unfortunately. Thanks for trying to help though. Im going to RMA this motherboard tomorrow and rebuild my AMD machine for the time being.
Hey guys,
It's been a while since I've been here I've read the first 100 or so pages 2-3 times when i was here a while back. Anyways, I have g.skill memory pc6400 ddr2 800 which can be found here.. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231065
I am under the impression that this memory is failing on me because i keep getting memory errors "the instruction at xxxxxxx referenced memory xxxxxx could not be read the memory could not be read" something like that and asks me to debug or terminate program it says that in an explorer.exe window that pops up.
I have a q6600 GO oc'ed to 3.8 on air my temps are in the low to mid 40's with the ac off :) my memory is at 4-4-4-12 2.2 volts i think maybe less and i used to be able to run at 1000 speed but now only ddr2800 or doesnt wanna boot. I have an abit ip35pro motherboard with original bios.
I am thinking that my temps are low enough i might make 4 gigahertz and I'm thinking my memory's holding me back or my bios. My question for you guys is
am i having memory problems or rather is that what these errors are telling me? Is it possible to be overclocked so high the memory cant keep up?
I have been thinking of buying new memory that overclocks well. I remember the people who bought crucial ballistics 1066 had great results and i am wondering if thats the way to go or if theres something better for my type of equipment below 300$ ? I am tired so forgive me if i make a mistake and thank you for any help :)
anytime you get memory errors, the first thing to do is set CAS 5...still getting errors then set the other settings to 5-5-18-(42 to 48)
Would it be worth changing this motherboard for an Abit IX38 instead?
Just asking cause I might just sell the IP35 pro replacement board and buy something better.
I just dont understand why my gpu wont powerup without that 4 pin molex plugged into the motherboard and I dont understand how it was so easy to lose the ethernet connections. I now cannot play my favourite game because I keep getting a BSOD every time. Also twice I got an IRQ no Less or Equal BSOd while booting into windows tonight. This motherboard is already gone south and I only have it a week.
are you sure your PSU is not at fault with the PCIe plug?...have you tried all the PCIe plugs?
your PSU being a 1200 watt supply does not preclude it from being part of the problem.
have you tried a regular PCI video card?...they are cheap in wal-mart and you can take it back within 30 days....just trying to eliminate the VC all together.
Steve, I'm pretty much a noob at this stuff so forgive me if I say something silly. When you say you aren't getting your lan to work, do you get that message that says your ethernet cable is unplugged? Or something to that effect? I had that because I had to disable one of the lan ports because I guess they were conflicting.
I know yours was working previously but just in case something got messed up in the software. Or whatever would make that happen.
Also, I finally got Memtest86 working. How freaking long does this thing take? I'm coming up on 2.5 hours! I want to get back to installing things.
My graphics card works perfectly in my other motherboard but it wont powerup on this motherboard unless I plug in that 4 pin onto the motherboard. Also theres two powersupplies in this case. Theres a 550 watt PSU for fans HDD's and DVD / CD roms. Then theres the 650 watt PSU for the motherboard and graphics card.
Also theres no walmart here in Ireland.
Perhaps your lan driver was corrupted somehow?
