Welcome to XS ;)
44C on the PWM is OK, bit way too much if you're going to squeeze extra MHZ out of your CPU. With similar voltage I idle at 33C (25C ambient) and 49C when loaded on the PWM.

Any type of ramsinks is a _must_ on the CPL chips, plus a high CFM fan and transpiper. This alone will make your CPU prime at lower vCore. I also cool back of the mobo when I want to go above 3.9Ghz during the summer. Putting some MX-2 or AS5 would be a good idea on the digital MOS-FETs under the heatpipe. Congrats, DFI's (and Foxconn's) 8-phase digital PWM is the best design yet for handling quads, nothing can beat it ;).
Anyone got 6400 Ballistix on this mobo to tell me what to expect from the modules.
Tnx.
The last time I checked, the DFI site had an outdated ICH9R driver so I used the infinst_autol directly from intel.
But there is also an Intel_Inf_Util on the DFI site. Can anyone tell me what that is?
Ok, I got you, now I get it. The infinst_autol that you get from intel installs drivers for both the ICH9R and the P35. Thats why I never needed the other one. Thanks.
If i was to cut the heatpipe off would i see a increase in temperature from either two heatsink from the corners, i want to add a waterblock to my NB....
Can i do this.
I have another question that I'm hoping someone can answer. I currently have a 2 drive RAID 0 array. Will the RAID BIOS utility allow me to add a third drive to that stripe and build it in without causing me to have to reformat?
Anyone?
Donīt think so
When the system writes data in Raid 0 i divides it into fragments. The number of fragments depends on the number of hard drives and they are written to their disks in the same time on the same sector. Therefore i think you will have to add another disk and format because the system wouldn't allow it.
Right, I was just hoping that the raid controller might be smart enough to reorganize the data...
Something thats gonna go well with my Board.....got this today from Trax

Might be a LN2 pot but that doesnt mean i cant play with Dice
Eww, that looks cool..
Just recieved a UT p35 from an individual seller.
Gonna be putting 'er together this weekend with my components that are on my asus.
Hi guys, i've used the search and i know that was something write about it, but i couldnt find.
I take two pair of raptors from my other rig and try to set them in raid 0, but when i set to raid, i couldnt boot from sata Asus DVDRW, i even instal the bios that solve this problem LP35D823.zip
1. Added LAN, Audio,1394, IDE chip Item.
2. Support DDR2 533 Module when NB strap jump set to 333MHz.
3. Fixed can't install vista when plus 4GB memory.
4. Fixed Vista64 DRAM size issue.
5. Fixed EIST can't be disabled in vista.
6. Fixed can't boot from SATA CD-ROM when Enable RAID mode..
But i couldnt boot from dvdrw
I've set the raptors in sata 1 and 2, and put another HDD in sata 3 and DVDRW in sata 4, then i try to put them in 5 and 6 and it's the same.
Any idea on this?
Thanks
Optical drive connected to one of the last two ports (4, 5). Choose the proper device to boot from. Generic CD-ROM/DVD is no longer a valid selection.
Why not just leave the jmicron set to ide mode in the bios and use it for the dvdrw?
Solved, when set to raid the bios see the dvdrw has a ahci device, and the dvdrw apear with a new name, but only after save and reboot and enter the bios again to select.
Thanks
Does anyone know if the network teaming works with vista?
