Anyone know why my P5W refuses to boot at 8x multiplier? :| It can run 9x400 fine, but whenever I try 8x400, even just 8x266, it won't boot. I'm using 1707 bios. Everything like c1e and eist, etc is disabled.

Hy all.
As u can see im new on the forum and this is my 1st post.
I have a little problem OC'in my SuperTalent mem on P5W.
I have E6600, Asus P5w DH delux, x800xl, Fortron Blue Storm 500W......
And Super Talent 800Mhz CL4 Overclock T800UX2GC4 (i think its D9GMH on it).
Sorry on my crapy english.
I have a problem on every Vdimm over 2.2.
I set 800Mhz 4-4-3-8 2.2V and can pass 6h of MEM test, and if i set the same setting on 2.3V, 2.4V i get like thousand errors in 5 min......
Even if i set 533 4-4-3-8 cant pass test if Vdimm is over 2.2V.
What is the problem? MBO and CPU are brand new, memory is 4 months old.
I read about D9xxx chips get damaged very easily, but there says that than ram dont wanna work on low Vdimm.....
Any clue?
Are these the ones with Blue Heatspreaders? If so, do not expect too much after 800Mhz, I tested them a while back and had to return them because they OC horribly and before anyone says anything (you can't return an item because it doesn't OC to your expectations) I took the 15% restocking fee.
I just decided to set up my harddrives in a RAID 0 array on my P5W DH Deluxe and I'm currently reinstalling Windows XP Pro on it. I set everything up according to all the info I was able to find on this site. I enabled RAID in the BIOS, created the array, then used the F6 utility to install the ICH7 drivers. It was working fine, but after the partition was formatted and the files were being copied off of the CD, I get an error saying that "Setup cannot copy the file iaStor.sys". I can't get past this part without skipping the file, and I don't want to do that because I know it's an important file. I tried swapping the CD out for another Windows Cd, but no luck. Anyone know what I might have done wrong?
Actually, the floppy disk is still in the drive. I'm still sitting at the error screen right now. It's trying to find the file on the CD... what do I make it do to look for it on the floppy?
Hmm you dont it seek the file on floppy Windows Installer looks for it on the floppy by itself.
I suggest you start again. Press F6, later when asked press S to specify additional devices, select correct driver and let the install start. This time DO NOT remove the floppy from the drive until the install finishes - maybe it need to copy the files after the first reboot, I am not 100% when as is been a while since I reinstalled mine. So leave the floppy there and see what happens.
Just wonder has anyone has issues running Crucial memory on this mobo. I been running a pair of Ballistix @400 3-3-3-12 2.2v and twice the ram started to go bad and won't even boot up at its rated speed. Its been about 6 month and i have two RMA since then.
Well, I tried running the installation again, and it once again can't find any of the iaStor files. I didn't remove the floppy from the drive at all. When I press "S", I choose the 82801 GB/GR (Desktop ICH7). It then asks me if I want to set up any other RAID drivers by pressing "S" again, or Enter to continue. I hit Enter, then it goes to the usual partition creation screen. I don't take the floppy out, but it still does not read the files when it gets past the formatting stage. Any ideas?
have you tried changing your cdrom?
Can some1 pls answer...
yes its the mem with blue HS's.
when i bought that ram i had different MBO and i managed to get stable 1150Mhz 4-4-4-8 2.45V (with 1200mm fan on ram). That was just to test ram and for my curiosity. in 24/7 use i used 800Mhz 4-4-4-8 2V.
I bought new MBO and i tryed to OC and get problem discribed above.
No I haven't... I didn't think it'd be a CD problem. The drivers are on the floppy disk, and it's supposed to read those at the "Copying files" portion of the setup, but it only tries to read them from the CD. It's weird, cuz it reads the files fine off of the floppy when I'm at the "Press S" stage.
