I think theres some very wrong rumors about the 1333 strap, its not even close to true that it ALWAYS gives MUCH lower performance, i think lots of those who claim that 1333strap just suxx is basing it on some SuperPi 32M runs that was posted here a while back. Real world usage doesnt have so big similarities with 32M SPI. Ofcourse theres a higher performance with FSB420/1333 than FSB400/1066 in most cases, at least it was on my Bad Axe/E6300.
That's the interesting thing though....some of these guys using IDT based mobo's with 1333 strap selected in bios, have been able to get the FSB to "stick" using setfsb.Quote:

well actually its not that bad, couple seconds in super pi aint gonna kill u , also it gives u more headroom in fsb. with 1066fsb strap selected i couldnt go above 8x399fsb, with 1333 fsb strap selected, i can do 8x426fsb maxed at 8x432fsb ...Quote:

Really is an interesting board. I'm really impressed by how robust this board is when you run at a specfic OC. It might be a pain in the a$$ to get there though. Cracking board!
I'm using Bios 1304 what's the best bios for this board? I'm using a 305 ICS. I know there is a newer one on the Intel site, any good?
I noticed Intel only provide the latest. Is there a place that contains all the BIOS revs?
Is there a program that will save the current Bios?

nvm, i think its weird .. with 1333fsb strap i can boot with w/e clock i set with setfsb!! and it can go as much as 424fsb until my cpu crapped out, i am pretty sure this board can do 450fsb no problemo.
i think people with IDT clock ghenerator should apply thje otmimal setting first, then reboot, then just set 1333fsb strap in BIOS, reboot again. in windows just use setfsb, i think download links is at the last couple page of this thread, then after u set ur fsb to w/e u set in setfsb u should be able to boot at that clock speed. its important that u apply the "optimal setting" in bios b4 u set 1333fsb strap, and use setfsb.
i use pc wizard to monitor voltage, anyway when i idle vcore is like 1.583v and during load its like 1.571v, is that bad??

yes that was a 0.012v vdroop for vcore
and i jsut use PC Qizrd, from cpu-z and clockgen website
so badaxe's temp is not accurate?? i am getting 46c for 1.6v vcore and 1.55v vcore set in bios ...

Could someone tell me what's the default V for mch and fsb, and what would i get by raising it? i'm trying to get 3.0GHz at stock Vcore, but at 20%burn 2.88GHz superpi 32M reboots my PC. would Vmch or Vfsb boost help me get stable?
That's about where I had to raise it too... I set Vmch to 1.52 and Vfsb to 1.27 (each one step up from default) and have no problem running up to around 3240mhz (that's with Vcore @ 1.29 actual).Quote:
