looks like they put some new parts on the cards..
EDIT: CompG - gpu cores are just like CPUs, in that some can only do so much.. they can hit an OCing wall , just like a CPU.. I would test your cards individually, which will be a PITA with watercooling, but none the less, that's where I'd start.. I am going to guess that it's only one of the cards holding your other card back, because they need to hold identical clocks in SLI.
