My sticks work fine for 3d and SPI at stock timings or better up to 290fsb. Here is my 24/7 stable settings. ram@2.7V I think, maybe 2.8V I am new to the large nuber of timeing setting we now have avaliable. Which one other ones other than the big 4 should I change to make it faster?

I have a rev AA0 with a Venice CBBLE 0512 and I can do 273 3d stable 280 non 3d.

i've been thinking of getting a 3800 dual core, but none of the shops over here say whether the core is a toledo or manchester :rolleyes:
do E4 chips have better mem controllers than the E6's?
No, the E6s have better controlers
i read somewhere that the E4 stepping is supposed to be ideal for overclocking <shrug>

E3 and E4 are better overclockers than E6, but the E6 have better memory controllers.
If it does turn out to be my CPU I will be getting a E6 or Opteron

Nate, would you please post your boards Revision. BTW if you are looking for an X2 and want to pick between an E4 or E6, simply look at the heatspreader while its in the package. If it has a CD at the end of the first line, then its an E6 Toledo based core, if it has a BV then its an E4 true Manchester core. I have heard the opposite though, that E6's are better overclockers... I hope you are right that the E6's have good memory controllers though, cuz i already got the good overclocking part!

I wish there was a way to test the max fsb of memory.... Cpu is holding them back though.

BUT.... Am I supposed to get a lower 3dmark score with 2gb ram? Because I used to get about 8500, and now 7400 or so... Ive been playing with drivers but I think it doesnt have anything to do with the cpu or the gpu, because my cpu score is a lot lower than when I was using my 1GB OCZ 3700EB. From 6400 to 4300. And this doesnt make any sense because unless my memory is failing me, PI times are faster.
So is this 3dmark only or what?

Trying increasing your skew value, start at something low (128 perhaps) and see if you can max it, I heard that helps with this ram and 3DM scores
Hi everyone, i have been studying this thread with interest. I am currently looking to get 2X1gb moduels of memory. I have a 4000+ amd 64 San Diego core. I have noticed that the OCZ PC4000 2xgb has major problems with the San Diego core in its over clocking ability. I have found this out from this review the same review site also has the Crucial Ballistix PC4000 2GB Dual Channel Kit reviewed and it has achevied significantly higher clocks than the OCZ. So guys do you think the same and also i was looking at prices for the Ballistix and could only find them available at crucials own website for £250, and couldnt find anywhere else in the uk that sold them. :confused:

Sadly, I am starting to regret buying these things, OCZ has never done me wrong in the past. Ryder is taking a look at my sticks personally right now though, hopefully he discovers something :P

I suspect a weak memory controller, you all need to remember this is a huge load on a cpu even at stock 200fsb never mind 260+.Quote:
