I finally ordered a X2 4200+....propably get it next monday :woot:
It will be watercooled with swiftech waterblock, mcp600 pump, double heatercore with shroud.
I think I will put a 120mm fan on the sinket mosfet area of my DFI NF4.
Will post result!

Ummm wish this lucky post give me some luck on my overclock :D
Hmm, haven't noticed so far, but has anybody put the X2 under dry ice?
I'm finally getting my X2 this tuesday, after weeks of delays. Will post results. Hoping for 2.8 on water.
Definatly seem to of hit a wall.
10x260 or 11x237 is fine, then it seems to need a lot more volts.
Might just leave it at a nice 10x260 with just 1.35vcore and be happy.
2.6GHz at default is great. You tested that stable with Prime?
Default is 1.3, and sorry, needs 1.365 for that.
No not yet, but gaming, all benches and Super Pi 32, is fine.
could have sworn default is 1.4V
sure it is 1.3?
X2 is 1.35-1.4 default.
Hmm, I tried to take it up to 11x237, and it didn't post.... I got it working again.... And it's back at 2.4GHz.... Now the thing is, I also fooled around with the RAM (I have NO idea on how to over clock it :() so that could have been the reason it didn't post...

Must be a discrepency somewhere because mine definitely defaults to 1.30vcore as well when set to auto/default which is reported my SG as 1.26-1.28, if I set it manually to 1.35 my vcore goes up to 1.3x as reported by SG and bios.Quote:

anyone has 4200+redline on air resulst ?
Hey guys, I've been overclocking my X2 4400+ for 2 days now, and now I'm at:
http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfold..._cinebench.jpg
Do you think it's ok to run at this speed and volts for my everyday use? It's stable at this speed, and I can work with 3D (maya, 3dsmax), film editing softwares (all multithreaded), gaming etc. without any probs :D
It's watercooled, idle at 30-31 and load at 41-42 if you look at the smart guardian application, in sandra the temps are at 33C idle and 48C load
Nice one. 2900 MHz @ 1.6V dual-primestable? And really only 48°C with 2x Prime95 v24.13 full load with 2.9@1.6? Heatspreader still on it? What stepping?Quote:

Well the temp is that high according to sandra/smart guardian, I'm sure it's +-5C or something, and yes the heatspreader is still on, the stepping is 0517 XXXX, I have to take the cpu out again to take a look, so until then I don't know the last letters ;)
Mine says 1.3.Quote:

Its variable. For me, it goes around 1.35-1.4.Quote:

I think my X2 is over-heating? Doom 3 froze, well i couldn't do anything, exit or ctrl-alt delete, but the game carried on when i died.
Temps were 52C in BIOS about 10seconds after gaming. My room is like 30C.
Only using 1.365Vcore, do you guys think i need to re-sit? Surely a 90c shud keep it cooler.

clock for comparison: 2700 MHz @ 1.424V, watercooling, 29°C ambient (very hot right here ...)
with HS
idle: 35-38°C
load: 49-52°C (2x Prime95 v24.13)
without HS
idle: 32°C
load: 40-41°C (2x Prime95 v24.13)
I am very happy about that massive temperature drop even at such a low clock/voltage setting. Differences with higher voltages and clocks will be even larger.
Now aiming for 2900 MHz. Will post some updates soon.

One core ? Now that is hella surprise for me :D
