Jesus christ thats insane, that 3.4 is on what cooling, please dont say air.

I have the exact same chip and seem to have issuies with my tccd as well, what board is that on,i'm sure mine would do 3ghz stable on a nf4, will pick one up as soon as i can find someone to buy this one :D. I almost bought a vapochill a little while ago on ebay, had some dented line, I seen you bid on it, but since I don't know much about phasechange i didn't buy it. But I bet I would of gotten nice results with it, how loud are those things?

The one from Kit-Tronics? FYI, that was a mach2, not a vapochill. The only vapochill you should even consider is the LS. The other ones would get overloaded with the newer core cpu's. If you're on a budget, look for a used machI or mach2 and if you're planning on buying new, look to PCIce or Chilly for their systems. They really aren't as loud as you may think. IIRC, they're rated@ 40DB at startup and 35 Running? 3g on air is no easy feat on any board, but who knows? My mobo is a DFI-SLI-D bios 510-3 :)

woot, #3 on the waiting list :). if you do decide to part with it, how much? i hope you won't charge the lucky winner an arm and a leg :). my 3500 venice is also lbble, but not PAW though :(. i see in another quote that you're using 510-3 bios. i tried it, but it didn't do much for me. maybe i should go back to it again and this time follow the instruction on upgrading bios :). 2.9G on stock heatsink is incredible too. my goal is 3G, but 2.9G is satisfactory if my chip can do it. unfortunately it sucks and i have to pump the vcore over 1.7 :(, that's too much juice. when will you make a decision? :). sorry no rush hehe.

I really haven't thought too much about price, but as most who have bought a cpu from me know, I don't price gouge :p: For example, I sold the 3500 Venice I had- almost 2 months before it was released-for less than you can find it now. Chunkylover77, how much did I sell it for ;) ? I'm thinking about what I want to do with it as we speak since I'm picking up a "special" cpu tonight as my rma. I have to think this one out a little more than I did last time when I sold my 3800 Venice which ended up doing 3878Mhz :rolleyes:

TBH, I think the cpu could pull the 3.4 screenie off @ ~1.67V (although I had set it @ 1.72). Spi1m benches @ 3.25G at 1.66V, but it could possibly complete at a little lower voltage since I've been "inflating" the vcore to avoid any resets/bsods.

Sorry, Im trying not to get my hopes up. Damn it, having it here and no board to test with will drive me INSANE. Newegg MUST have recieved my RMA by now but they still havent updated me from step 1.

I think I'm gona wait for some new boards to come out, talked to my neighbor who works for ati and he said some good things about it, so will have to see, right now tho if I get the chance, DFI NF4, I also think my cpu has a weak memory controll could more be my weak overclocking skills. The cpu part was easy 2.9g 1.5v on air, I think this board is holding me back from more mhz because it shutdown at higher vcores :s, whats the highest safe vcore for good air.

Depends on what you consider stable ;) If you're talking prime95, I haven't tried to run it past 1hr cause I'm not patient enough. If you're talking spi32m, I haven't run that with mach2 installed. But on air, it was 32m stable @ 2.9G. If you're talking spi1m, I haven't yet found the limit on the cpu. Still testing, but got this tonight:

I'm positive this cpu's got a lot left, just need to figure out the best settings.......
Oh, and the highest vcore I'd recommend on air for this cpu? ~1.65-1.7V MAX. I can almost guarantee that anything above 1.7 won't do anything for your OC.....

that's just some impressive ocing there :). my 3500 venice is an ok ocer and i think it has potential to go higher than 2.8G. I think this xp-120 heatsink is holding the chip back. i'm contemplating watercooling, but don't want to spend too much. any recommendation on a good water cooling setup? i'm thinking of the cooler master aquagate mini, but i don't think it'll do any good. mach2 is way too much for me :(. my other solution is try and hand pick a 3200 and sell this 3500 :). i have such bad luck with ocing :(.

Stable I mean gaming for hours and such, I used prime95 for 24 hours, Like what you would leave it at for 24/7, But I understand right now your looking for the max and getting some nice beanchmarks, What voltage did it take to get 2.9 32million stable?

3 persons bought a Venice like mine, LBBLE 0516CPBW, IDENTICAL!!!
But they are getting around 2.7GHz easily with ~1.6v, and I can't reach this goal even with 1.7v :(

try bios 510-3. i've used 510-1 and 510-2 and 414-3 and 414-1, but the 510-3 works best for my g.skill pc4400 LE modules. make sure you do the usual clear cmos, load default, etc.. before you attempt to oc. good luck and have fun ocing.

But the problem is not my G.Skills, they are stable. THe problem is my Venice :(

Look, I cleared the CMOS before turning on the DFI on the 1st time with my Winchester. Then I stayed 2 or 3 days with the Winchester and got the Venice. When I installed the Venice I didn't clear the CMOS. Do you think I have to clear or it's not necessary?

it's just me, but i always clear cmos when i install a new cpu.

Well I'm not a gamer per se, but I did a little 3dMark 01 run last night with the cpu and I don't even know if this is any good :rolleyes: The card isn't running max clocks and it's minimally tweaked:

Stock 6600GT 560/1120 - 26631

Now maybe it's just me, but @ 2900 my score is only ~900pts less than this one. Shouldn't I have a bigger gain than that with almost a 400Mhz increase in cpu?

@higherøx: Stepping doesn't always guarantee an OC, but can be used as an indicator. When you say you're 100% stable, do you mean memtest stable? If so, then that's worth nothing since memtest stability doesn't always translate into windows stability. It took me awhile to find settings which would work with my G.skill FF's and this particular Venice. For some reason or another, the FF's don't want to run as tight as I'd like and they're very picky about timings @ 300+Mhz. Try loosening up the timings and see if it will help. Also, it may not be the best idea to run a 2x12v psu with these newer AMD setups. How low do your 12v rails dip when you're benching? One of the most important items in an OC'd rig is the PSU. Personally, I'm using a Zippy700W - 45A on the 12V rail :cool: Running 1.72Vcore an MAX board settings, I didn't see the 12V rail drop even .01 volts.

Just picked up a 3000+ LBBLE 0518 EPCW from Monarch wish me luck! I'll post reports in the results thread. I'm running prime at 270x9 @ 1.36v atm, just feelin her out :D

LBBLE 0516 DPJW from monarch (havn't seen anyone with a DPJW) Maya 2001

Over 4 hours on prime95 @ 2.543 - 5/6 corsair XMS pc 3700 (max FSB for that ram) 1.5v

dropped it down to 3/4 ratio and booted in at 2.7 but fails prime - probably needs some tweaking and more juice
