Indeed, it will be fine. If you are unsure, install another service of D2OL on your pc, it then runs 50/50 on the two services, but you are at least able to download 4000 cands into your rig. :)Quote:

How big are the files, because I have small partitions for my windows systems. Are they stored in the d2ol installation folder? I can't find files with informations about canditates.
Maybe this was asked years ago but I worked 12h today and just want to get this small info without reading 19 pages here and maybe more ;)
Thanks a lot for your help, I will go sleeping now, but compressor stays up for d2ol of course ;)
It was powered off for a long time because I hadn't the time to play or to do video worx. now it can run sensefull without doing anything on my own :hehe:
Only a few megs, 20 I believe. My whole D2OL folder is 60...
thanks for this info!Quote:

Try the one that comes with Java, if you already haven't. That's the one i used with SUSE 9.0 and didn't seem to have much trouble.
yea its the nongui installer with the java. i didint try the one wihtout it. i;ve never fooled wiht any java in linux.
I think MoP used the non-java installer (do u already have java installed?). Send him a pm (masterofpuppets).
not as far as i know, i dont have java installed. i figured the jvm files were enuff java, and vm to run it. let me see if i install java if it'll work. be back in 20
EDIT: according ot yum it looks liek java is installed and up to date. back to ground 0
Alrite, what I got from your edit is that you do have java installed, right. Here's mop's old thread: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...33#post1071233
He said he used the jre-less version and it worked
went back and tried the one without java still no go, treid up dateing the system and yum is having a problem with a librarie im gonna try to figre out how to remove it or repari it and update hte whole system to see if that helps any.
Maybe give the GUI installer a shot? I doubt it will make a different, but I guess it worth a shot.
okkaaayy got band lib removed and have a 142 megs of updates its doing so i'll bea goo 45 mins or so before i take another stab at it.
im not sure it;d be worth teh gui isntallation as there is no gui on the system
ahhh, scratch that one then lol Would be pretty useless wouldn't it
lol yea, i think it;s gotta be my install, im gonan redo it, i removed and added java again, let the updates fly and still nothing, the path its pointing to (that it says is wrong) is the path to the jre folder in the jre bunlded install. im gonan remove it and install it as root hoping all these changes are what it needed. otherwise its gotta be a bad *.lax file. it said put the absolute directories i jsut assuemd that meant the entire path (home/usr/fold/SergentD2OL/D2OL) i'll fiddle aroudn with each combination i can come up with till im out of logical ones. at least one comptuer will be crunhing tonite :/
EDIT"!!!!!!1111ONE
ok we're gettin somewhere now, i isntalled it as and ran it as root and got all this
sooooooooo it tryied to let me register, and wont run, any ideas? im gonna go update my post over at d2ol and see what they say. if this looks familiayr to any of you let me knowCode:[root@localhost D2OL]# ./D2OL controller:cli

Alright, been doing this d2ol for a while now (since we were #11) and have always wondered is there any performance difference between the service installer and the regular sengent installer?? If I was setting up a dedicated cruncher, would the service installer be a better idea?
No difference... I have a XP-M that used to run the service and averaged about 130 a day... now it runs the client and still averages about 130 a day... same deal with a regular XP... 110 with the service.. 110 with the client. That's just my 2 cents.Quote:

It's the same software... just started different.Quote:
