Yeah I know it isn't the best. I was expecting a little more, but like I said that is the first overclock I tried on my brand new machine 10 minutes before I had to go to class. Anyway, they are not virgin sticks. They are 18 month old sticks from ebay. Rock stable at those settings, but when I try anything above 245 I get lots of errors in memtest: a few the first test, then twice as many errors than the previous attempt for each subsequent one :confused:

What else could I do to get them > 250?

Meh. Might just pick up some G. Skill LE after the next paycheck. :stick:

I don't have the time to do a hardcore burn in, so I will leave the results at this. I am not going to run tests at voltages higher than 3.6, since this is intended to be a daily use - not a benching rig.

While this ram is fast, I need something that will take me to higher FSB. My memory controller just isn't having it at these latencies and I had to drop the multi. Anyone interested in buying this RAM or trading for some G. Skill please PM. These sticks are more than capable and would love a new owner who wants to push them to the max :D

zeebs, please let me know what the max stable speed is (i suggest prime95 blend+3d app for 3hours) not your highest cpu-z shot :)

but this thread is indeed not meant so much for dicussions but just to post and compare results, not about posting your experience with a new stick of memory step by step :)
please post a new thread about your memory and ask for tweaking and burn in tricks and im sure you will get a bunch fo replies you will probably not get here :)

i for one suggest you do the hipro5 mod to your memory wich helped most people to get 1-3mhz more out of their sticks (it involves soldering extra capacitors to the sticks)

It's 278MHz(556MHz DDR) and 2 x 256MB Kingston Value Rams PC2700(DDR333)........

Memtest-86 errorfree 271 - 272MHz @ 3.65Vdimm......

One stick is with 4 x 238 and 4 x 239 chips onboard and the other stick is with 8 x 2474D chips onboard.....

First stick is 275MHz errorfree with 3.55Vdimm and the other one is 272MHz errorfree at 3.6Vdimm (haven't test them seperate for more yet...)....... :)

Hipro5 ~ Is your CPU have memory controller like A64? :)

and i entered them both as 265mhz stable because the other results are 3d and primestable and most of the time 3d+prime stable is harder than memtest in my expirience :)

melchior, i entered your second stick as 265mhz as well because i dont know how you tested stability. if you used prime+3d then let me know and i will set the max speed higher.
