I keep getting BSOD 0x0000003B when I attempt to overclock past my 4.3 Ghz stable OC, temps are hitting 68'C as the maximum temp recorded
Do you think OC'ing and stability is only temp related ? sometimes you are fine at 4.3 at eg 1.35 while 4.4 needs a big voltage increase as you passed the sweetspot... doesn't adding more Vcore stabilise it ?
:yepp::yepp::yepp:
once i pass 4.6 i need big bump
just like my e8600 needs 1.32 for 4.5 1.38 4.6 after that needs heavy juice lol
karlitos: you have to pump in more juice like 1.44v see if stable then work to lower it
i can validate 5.0 but i cant pass withought phase cooling;)
I have 930. At 4.2 it needs 1.32 and qpi 1.31. to get 3dmark vantage pass at 4400 i need to set 1.5vcore and 1.43qpi(3dmark 06 need only 1.43vcore and 1.39 qpi).... I guess that this is an aserw to ur hoping to get 4.6... Its not immposible but u wont get 4500 at 1.4 im sure:(
I've tried up to 1.42 vcore in Bios for 4.4 Ghz and always the same BSOD
at 4.3 Ghz , Im Really rock solid stable at 1.3375vcore with 1.29375v QPI VTT
As soon as I raise by 1 mhz the base clock...this BSOD start to show 0x0000003B
This is my stable setting at 4294Mhz 50 Passes Linx, 70'c maximum temp recorded (HT On)

Have you tried lowering the UCLK freq? Try 2x DRAM at first then raise the BCLK and see if it helps
Yep, just tried it, doesnt help...always same BSOD... its getting annoying because I still have room for voltage and temperature to overclock...
The BSOD appears around the second run of linux, temps dont go over 75'C
EDIT: Do you think it might be because I only have ONE 8 pin power connector for my CPU instead fo the 2 TWO plugs on the board??
You can try with two connected but I dont think one will be a problem @ 4.3-4.4
Btw do you have vCore and QPI LLC enabled? Also adjusting PWM freq and PWR Volt helps
i pluged both in just in case lol
1 should be enough if you pluged it in right one
btw i has a set of the gskill trident mine did 1700 6-8-6-24 you should try it :yepp:
if you wanna go higher looks like you gonna have to do it withought ht;)
i'm @ 4.5 with ht 1.39 /1.34 load:p:
when i get time i'm shootin for 5.0:eek:
if i ever around your place i'll come n fix your overclock
Why not try the rams with a bit more volts 1.66 and QPI voltage to 1.35, turbo mode power limit enabled... Vcore 1.4...
Grabbed the Silver cup on my R3E and 980x. I love this board. no CB and no CBB. My temp probe stopped at -156 and she just kept on tickin. The LN2 was just sitting there boiling away. I had to push the vcore higher than i'd like but she took it without breakin a sweat.

Grats on the cup, that is a very nice 980x
Thanks. It was a nice chip on my Classified too. But this board has seemed to really unleashed its power. I think it's time to redo all the 2D runs. It should be interesting.
attah boy dukie :) and see, you wanted to frisbee that board out the window!
Anyone knows if is safe to only use the bottom 4 pin molex for Tri SLI (GTX480) or i am obligated to use both molex?
think the bottom one is for the last half of the slots, top if for the top half. Test it out and see if it works. Im sure it would be fine.
Do you think its my Ram thats making me hit a wall....everything work so fine at 204 Mhz Base Clock, I dont know why it doesn't work at 205mhz...I doubt I hit a wall
By the way I have both Vcore and QPI Load Line Calibration... What I think is one of my monitoring program or the BIOS or Windows shut down the PC after 75'C. But again, on google I saw a couple of web site saying that it could be a graphic card problem, but again I doubt because I can overclock it to the max and dont even encounter any problem (1000|1300)
And by the way guys, you can't imagine how much I appreciate your help, you are really professionnal, Thanks A LOT ;)
I'm just have start to test my new R3E + 980X
Today I updated to BIOS 0602 (from del. 0402) and with the same settings I can't even POST if I set RAM to 1600MHz
Reloaded 0402 again and there's no problem ?
(My RAM is 24GB Ripjaws 1600-9, 6 sticks á 4GB)
Does anyone know what's the plus side of using 0602 ?
U can try less IOH voltage - aroud 1.15v and increese CPU PLLv a notch and definetly bump up QPIv. In my case 1.3v is far not eanough. I run my mems at speed of 1700 9-9-9-24 and cpu 21x214 1.42v QPI 1.4v
I had the same BSOD for a while, canne mind how i fixed that but im sure by decrising some V =]
