Everyone i see complaining uses LLC on, is anyone with this problem not using llc? I know it might be stupid but we just don't know where the problem comes from!
It looks like those pads had 2 pins contacting each pad, almost as if the CPU was out of alignment in the socket.
I cant help wondering if using vaseline (or sth) in the socket would have prevented damage(?)

E: Havent gone all dice/LN on my M3F yet, but about 4 hours of phased runs at ~-35c hasnt caused any probs.

i had the same issue as raju the same pin and pad on my chip and board got screwed..good news is the board got replaced and i am on a blank spot now whether i should use the chip on the new mobo..
is it fine to use my processor on the new board??even w/o 1 pad??

My ASUS Maximus 3 Gene with Foxconn socket also burned some days ago...
wow so obviosly socket 1156 was released before it was matured and ready and most people are just test guinea pigs. i blame intel tbh and i only use intel im not a fanboy, but to me its just odd and not nescesarily a socket fault but a socket design fault because it is only 1156 that has this problem. 1366 does not nor does 775. just to bad sounds like it was designed not to take to much overclocking because has anybody seen this happening under stock clock and load situations?? no. because intel designs it as a mainstream socket. really to bad.

I just didn't use the Box Cooler but a Scythe with those push-pins...
so your socket burnt out running stock? hmm still sounds like a socket design fault to me. the fact that the lotes socket vs the foxconn socket are only different by millimeters of push down pressure keeps me thinking socket design flaw. honestly foxconn would not be able to release these sockets if they were not up to intel spec.

That's what I think too and that there are many people out there who are suffering from this problem but don't know about it.
Only time will tell, we have to wait 'till more with this problems are posting in forums...

Board is absolutely dead, don't know if the CPU still works...
so I just read a P55 UD-6 review and its sad that a $250 motherboard comes with a foxconn socket that kills hardware. seriously I thought the faulty sockets were being taken off the market?? or maybe thats what they said to shut people up??
It's very myterious and not clear what causes this defect...
If I ever get a new M3G and Core I5/750 out of the RMA, I'm gonna sell them right away...

Yeah and no one really knows why it happens, that's the real problem...
There are many people out there with this Foxconn socket, who don't have a problem and maybe never will (only time will tell if they will have a problem) so I think it's best to avoid the LGA1156 Socket, if you don't have a second system you can use if one is broken...

A lot of people are scared it seems.
This is the only mainboard and CPU I've had the issue with. None of my other mainboards, including some Gigabytes, have had this problem.
By the way, I'm still using this UD6 for Clarkdale at 6G+ ;)
