Hey, everybody, after combing through the spreadsheet and looking at peoples' experiences, I've posted a thread with a "to buy" list and "to avoid" list of batches. Check it out and let me know if you agree or disagree. Thanks!
Edit: doh! I forgot the link: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=218740
anyone else having issues with the cpuz validation now that it changed on the 16th? Seems to be isolated with x58 boards.
3838B with some OCZ memory. Don't have access to any settings now. Had to move to some other boards to test SSDs. Hope to back to it within the week. Didn't have time to do much with the 2000 CAS 8 Kingston. Kind of excited to see what the board can do with them. This is the only screenshot I have of the Hypers at 7-8-7.

boing....
I know I keep saying it but update tonight, in a few.
A-ha, I see it now. I already had it as a "most wanted batch" in this thread...your new data just makes me want it more!

PD-Still testing if i can low vcore, this thing burns
We were at MC last Sunday and my Brother bought one of this same batch but he hasn't the time to let me assemble his rig yet (he is complete newb to PC assembly so I will have to put it together for him). We were there because of the 20% saving MC is having until 3/1 and I urged him to buy new stuffs as his current PC is getting pretty old and slow. He bought the MSI X58 Platinum SLI along with an i7 920, a 9600GT, Kingston Value PC3-10600 (DDR3-1333) and few other stuffs. I will be putting it together for him this coming Saturday so we'll see how OCable this batch can be.
Meanwhile, I got myself a 3844A361 and it seems to take less voltage to reach the 4.2Ghz than my 3837A769, which I bought upon launch (last year). It also seems to OC better, too.
Looks like the 3836B isn't the champ I thought it would be, but it's capable enough for me. These numbers aren't final, I need to do some voltage tweaking as I think I can lower some of them, tweak my RAM timings, bump up the uncore, and push for 4.2 GHz when I can find the time. The idle temps seem a bit high for water cooling, might have a bad mount. More to come.
