OK...4 ghz completed wPrime bench after tweaking NB voltage and GTL NBRef
have tried that...
well my recommendation is to up your volts, dont just use defaults; play around and see if you can get it into windows. Other than that it isn't a know issue to me, mine booted fine at defaults.
well currently trying vcore to 1.35 and both nb and vtt set to 1.35 which is more then enough for a q6600 at default
DARN!...the bios needs work on holding vcore on post...it drops off to default vcore of 1.14v...sometimes it grabs what i have set and then again, it does not...it is very frustrating to get this bios to play nice-nice!
finally tweaked to 4.3 ghz but i am not looking forward to re-boot or changing my bios settings to increase FSB!
i think that i figured out the problem on the vcore...i was at 12x and for some reason it had a problem pulling up the set vcore at that multi...once i set it back to 10x, it appeared to work ok.
well anyway, here is 4.4 ghz..later on today, i will give 4.5 ghz a try...so far, i haven't adjust the timings...all are in auto.
well i gotta say this is a good board with a few bios updates it will be great
i tested 4 sticks and was just amazed @ bandwidth 2.17v
1200 + gave me some errors i didnt have too much time to tweak 1200mhz+
what dose that do with a 1:1
Ok finally got the computer working
apparently it was some problem with the harddrive so
i had to reinstall windows
seems like my Q6600 is power hungry :(
btw with 4x1 only reason i couldnt hit 1200+ was my new mushkins xp2-8500from rma are crap compaired to my ballistix 8500 i dont wanna push 2.3v into the ballistix but i will push the munshin 2.3v till they cry
here ya go zanzabar 2x1
@Ace-a-Rue: is SG reading your voltages correctly?
Thanks for the screenies. :)
yw
this is 1-1
now i can test away no fear since mushkin got 2.35v warranty
i bet this set die soon cause they are garbage
my kingston value ram with d9ghm are better
Newest Everest 4.20.12227 displays now PWM and Chipset Temp.
With a Q6000 @ stock im idling at about 43°C (EIST enabled), with Prime at 48°C (Chipset/NB)
(I'm using a smap 60x60x10mm fan for the NB)
Are these temperatures ok or are they quit high?
hey zsamz, can you just post your key volts real quick, i need them for reference.
So whats the opening thoughts? Is this better than Maximus? Or about the same level of performance, just needs some BIOS maturation?
in bios cpu 1.53v cpuvtt 1.535 nb 1.6 sb 2.0 gtl 105 105 111
memory 2.35 mushkin/ballistix 2.17
in windows cpu 1.55v nb 1.58 fsbvtt 1.52 vdmm 2.31
keep in mind the gtl is most important
ChaosMinionX i can compare it to the x38-dq6 and i gotta say its much better
especially bein able to run 4 stix 1200mhz i could only do 800 with dq6 lol
but much more work than any board i've played with
its got some minor bios bugs but this is first bios lol
i gotta say 1 thing just the fact that it ran 4 stix @ 1200 @ 2.3v stable its a keeper for me

pretty good for only 450 fsb ;)
