Wait, zoom in the comparison between 8.125s and 9.125s, I'm interested.

Is this not a huge reason to get a community effort for a simple benching program (a la Super Pi) that is developed by clockers, for clockers, and possibly even open source.
I'm sure there are more than enough programmers here to be able to make a secure program that can let us alleviate these kinds of threads.

I won't even get into "blah is guilty" or "hoo-ha seems dodgy" but I will state that a lot of the tweaks I've learnt from this forum have come from OPB and for that I am grateful.

Am I missing something with that screenshot... ?

just compare pixel for pixel the 2 screenshots, on the 12.734 all is repeated, darks pixels are at the same place on each loop even the last.
On the 8.9s the last loop is really different, that's evident for me.

Exactly! If i was those guys, I'd have to explain myself. Either way their rep (that they have tried so hard to build up to what it is), is now shot to :banana::banana::banana::banana:. They have the opportunity to clear their names but they choose not to.

both are the the same, the pixels or not identical but on the 2 different screens there is the same noize on the idecntical screen.

Not every pic is the same you know

Ok I'll be blunt here, all I'm saying is everyone is essentially saying the same thing over and over again. 19 pgs of just people saying he cheated, then some saying it is a tweak, then some saying don't take this offensively, etc. W/e just wait for a response from the both of them...

I don't think there will be a response. Just pages of what has already been said.. and this post too.

Guess what, you're wrong here :D

Run SuperPi 1M.
Take a screenshot and save it with Paint as JPG.
Now open the jpg with paint, and save it again with a different filename.
Open both with Paint [ run two instances of Paint ] and match the displays ( I used 1 white space from the first digit from left corner to top ) and check it out with zoom.
It's different.
There will be darker "shadow" pixels on the second save.

The little shadows are common when converting to JPG files. I notice it a lot. If you want the best quality, leave it in the original format. But that can take up lots of space.

as many times you save the jpg without even doing anything to it the quality reduce.... if he did any cheat believe me isnt with photoshop, also i dont see why he needs to cheat we now he has HW SKILL and the COOLING i think either he has a tweak or a boggus run....

I dont think 50400 is needed.

well PNG is a lossless codec. But it isn't impossible to put anything on a screen as say a background and hide the task bar. Then just use a regular Camera to "record" your new world record

I tend to agree with cronic here. Though it may not have been the intention of the original post to call OPB and Coolaler cheats, it could be interperated that way, particularly if english is not your primary language

Though definately an amazing accomplishment Predator, which involved killing numerous motherboards in the attemp, iirc OPB had to disable one core to get to 5.7Ghz so stability would indeed seem to be a factor in this debate.

I've got a 38sec 8M time due to an error on the 680i. SuperPi errored out on the 4th loop and just repeated the 38sec for the remaining loops. It gave a checksum value but no screen capture was possible because the system had psuedo-crashed.



I'm not sure what should happen with these scores. Indeed it would be good to see them replicated and their accuracy verified but it seems that more and more, Xtremesystems is becoming a place of XtremeEgos that often clash together and take away from what I see as a possitive online community.

I've seen runs that take an extra iteration. Just throwing it out there, but SPi might be the problem.

as for this... I doubt either faked their scores.

The formula is valid for 250 results between 4251MHz and 5620MHz.

Listen, to all you OPB fanboys who claim OPB could never do anything wrong--you're just as bad as the people you're accusing of calling OPB a liar. Do NOT come in here with your giant, bold, red letters proclaiming OPB is #1 and we're all the anti-Christ for questioning his results when you, yourselves, have NO statistics to back up your claims. I understand OCX loves OPB, but that's no reason to act like a bumbling idiot, blindly acquitting OPB of any possible wrongdoing because he's a figurehead at OCX.

It's simple, so let me explain: when someone obtains a result that's statistically far out of the norm, that raises probable cause to simply ask for an explanation of how they obtained this result.
