I have mine sitting here un-installed, so you're in luck. Roughly 33mm by 33mm and the fins are about 25mm high.Quote:

I am now all set up first boot was fine and I have now installed Vista Ultimate RC1. No NVIDIA drivers for Vista yet (boooo). I may have to load Xp for now.
I am running at everything stock but I next want to OC 10% and start to get my experience and knowledge up to some of you.
Would someone suggest the initial settings I should change to get a modest OC, about 10 to 15%. I did set my memory to 1067.
With everything stock I am getting no buzzing, in fact the entire rig is quiet.
Where should I start with this OC adventure?
today arrived my quad

Thanks, that worked. With the Commando I am not running SLI anyway. Most of my use of thei rig will be graphics generation and large reports for clients with gaming important but secondary.Quote:

Is there any consensus on the cause of the buzzing noise issue that some have reported? It is making me a little leary of getting one.
Mine is quiet but then I have not started to OC yet.
I want to remove the copper rubbish so I can WC the NB & CPU. What would be adequate cooling of the Digital PWM's next to the CPU socket?
A row of Swiftech Copper heatsinks?
I'll have a 120mm fan right next them also.

Does this board support chipset strapping change? If not, on what fsb does the strap change from 1066 to 1333.
Many thanks.

Well, I have it installed now and thankfully no buzzing at stock (e6600), nor at 8x400 whether idle or at load. This is with a seasonic 650 and evga 8800gtx.
think it's the asus site:slapass:Quote:

Yea a m8 told me after i've got it. i put it up here if u want it. Commando - Asus 0702.rar it's the EZ bios version.
luck:)
Alejo - lucky.
My Commando with 8800GTX and SeaSonic 650W buzzed. Returned it, got a P5B-Deluxe instead. A little sad about the Commando being gone, but the P5B-Deluxe is one hell of a board. A new BIOS came out yesterday too, I'm loving it.
That's not good to hear the Commando are buzzing with seasonics PSU's .
Anyone have a Corsair PSU hooked up to a Commando ? Since it's built by Seasonic I'm wondering if the buzzing has to do with the PSU manufacturer's internals(capacitors).
IMHO:Maybe the buzzing issue could be related to the low -5V line on the Seasonic built units.
I will be using my old Zippy PSU on the Commando board just received today.
Let us know if it buzzes, and by the way, no -5V line on modern PSUs ;)
Asus Commando + Tagan U25 700W, the buzz is present. I'm quite sure the PSU has nothing to do with this and the Vcore PWM's inductors are at fault; and it's not because of inductor saturation as it's doing it at any load level. Another possibility is insufficient capacitance on the +12V at the PWM input, will check it out tomorrow.
