I was just curious, not trying to compete with a LN2 setup with my air cooled rig using PC 6400 ram :p: I don't bother with LN2 and my chip tops out @ 3.92GHz with only 1.6v available and air cooling. I need 1.65v for 4.0GHz flat which is the highest I've been on air. I was curious what someone could do with this board with better cooling and an E6600 on its default multi. Again, I am limited.Quote:

On the BX2, I can boot into windows with my ram to 544 @ 4:5 4-4-4-4 for 3922MHz so far and I don't have enough voltage to go any further with this particular chip. This same ram is good for DDR2 1100 4-4-4-8 on 965 with a 7x multi. (Tried a P5B Deluxe)
I may buy an E6300 to try in this board for the heck of doing so.
I posted a few days ago and asked if 4 sticks of 1 gig ram would work in this board. Thanks to everyone who responded.
Well, I got another 2 gig set of the Corsair Dominator DDR2-1111 stuff. All four of them work like a champ!!!!
Thanks again.

Hi, this is a very nice thread!
I'm thinking of switching from the Asus P5W DH Deluxe to the Intel D975XBX2.
Is anyone running crossfire on this board and overclocking? I had some weird issues on my P5W, which got fixed after changing the stock NB heatsink. I suppose each PCIe slot will run at x8 when in crossfire? Can anyone confirm this?
Secondly, has anyone tested this RAM on the board?
GEIL PC2-6400 800MHz DDR2 Ultra Dual Channel Kit
Another thing I'm confused about is the CPU multiplier. Is it or is it not possible to lower the multiplier? I have an E6600, does that mean that I will only be able to choose x9 or more as multiplier? I've gotten used to using it at x8 on the P5W...
Last thing I'm wondering about is the IDCC. If I've understood correctly, I can use this to overclock in windows and then go into the bios to apply the settings, so I don't have to mess with the bios config jumper?
If I can just get an answer to one or two of these questions, I'll be very happy :D
you cant adjust multies in the bios :(
IDCC is no go for me. the splash screen just stays there and it vompletely freezeswhile loading :S
Ouuuuch... locked multi is not good... I'm not convinced about getting this board after all now :shrug:Quote:

it's already there, only need to be activated (processor multi override)
is this a confirmed future feature..ie unlockrd lower multiplier??Quote:

I'm pretty much trying to avoid any "first release" boards for my next build-up (most likely with a E4300 so I can stay on 1066 strap).
Why would you want a 8x multi over a 9x? Besides the strap issue I though all C2D worked better on their default multi?Quote:

can anybody give me the CPU and MEMORY settings when running 450FSB. i cant post at 450FSB :S 400 is fine and i havent tried between 400 and 450.
i have a feeling that the cpu extra voltage is not working
On the Bad Axe 2 how difficult is it to run dual 8x SLI? I assume I would need one of those SLI bridges right? How about getting drivers (where can I find?). How "buggy" are those SLI drivers....obviously they have no official support which worries me.
Anyone on the BIOS dated 20/12/2006? Is it any good? I'll flash it later after I've done last min Christmas shopping. :D
I don't notice a difference from 2330 and 2339
Thast would be great if that happened. I was like the issue with Everest Ultimate fixed on freezing when running the program as I paid for the program and would like to run it.Quote:

Hi,
First of all thanks to all the members on this thead for great work. I've been patiently following this thread for last one month and have already ordered BX2.
Can someone write a decent writeup/review/guide on BX2 as the only available review compares with Gigabyte 965P-DQ6. This would further help people looking for a stable board to hit 400-420 range on E6600/Xeon3060.
Just a thought!
