i have this board coming in on Friday so i need to prepare. Can someone give me a quick rundown on the best bios to start with? Any little tricks in the bios i need to know before i start cranking away at my E6600? Im using the DFI Infinity board for the time being but am pretty disappointed in not being able to reach 400+ FSB. Im crossing my fingers that my first Abit board wont disappoint.
As asked earlier, has anyone put some AS5 on the northbridge? Replacing the stock goop on my DFI with AS5 netted a 22C drop in temps so i suggest someone give it a try.
start with this bios. It's the 1.2 bios, the link is direct to abit ftp so it may be a bit slow. Set your timings manually under chipset settings. Under the guru section turn off all the cpu options like speed step etc. Your mch voltage will need to be set higher than with the P5W DH for anything above 350 FSB. Personally you probably should set bios to stock or moderate overclock and use gURU in windows to test overclocking. Thats what I like best about the board, I can play around with differnt overclocks without going into the bios and making changes each time. Good luck:)Quote:

i just want my X6800 between 3.8 or 4.0 ghz....maybe i dream ithink...won't over 3.6 stable with p5bdlx..
anybody want good rams: buy gskill 6400 GA , my kit work at 1138 and i think maybe more with more volt and cooling, but very expensive..
Looks like a solid board allright.
Anybody knows where to get one in Canada?
Tankguys is in the states, but ships to Canada. They are located near Ann Arbor I think.Quote:

alo
i have installed the board yesterday and there is a problem that i cant solve.
if i enable "raid" by the four satas ICRH7, save bios and the reboot if whe go again to bios and try to enter in Uguru menu the systems freezes completly,
the other problem is that if i dont go to bios after the reboot and simply try to configure the raid it gives me error and dont let enter the ICHR7 raid bios by pressing ther normal control+I
anyone have the same problema?
the solution was installing windows in single disk.
thanks
Dumb question,
My psu has two lines; one that says cpu1 and one that says cpu2 that are both 4pin, would it be proper to plug them into the 8 pin connector up top?

if the board turns out to be a dud i'll cry... the reviews reported none of these issues... worried I won't hit 400mhz 1:1 now.

It's advertised as: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatal..._Abit_176.htmlQuote:
