also you might wanna up the voltage on ur ram, maybe not sure though

roost, you need more volts on the ram. What is the rated voltage on that ram? Mine is 2.2
SXS, are you getting any system hangs using a 1:1.25 divider on reboots or powering on after a few hours?
I'm installing windows on my new machine right now, E6300 + MSI Platinum 975X with a Scythe Mine HSF. I'm a total noob at overclocking, but I'll see what I can do once that's finished. I'm hoping for somewhere around 400 MHz FSB eventually, but I'll see what happens.

I've gotten to 345 MHz FSB with varying degrees of stability. I can go to 333 pretty easily, I only need to bump Vdimm to 1.9V. But above that I'm not really getting anywhere even with upping Vdimm to 2.1V and upping the CPU voltage a little bit. I was a total virgin until tonight though, so hopefully I'll get further tomorrow.
Upped the ram to 2.1 last night.
Got it stable at 380 fsb. It ran a 20 sec. super pi, 6080 3d mark 2006 and a 61000 3d mark 2001 :) .
But..... when I cranked it up to 390 xp got corrupted :(
It would only display 2d/desktop in like 8 bit color (said it was in 32 bit).
I thought I toasted my x1900xt card as reinstalling the cat.driver did not fix it.
Backing down fsb/volts did not fix it.
I also tried a rebuild xp session and that did not fix it either.
In a last ditch effort (at 1:30 am ) I did a bios reset and fresh install of xp (great now I need to redo all the work from this week) and it looks fixed.
Desktop went back to 32 bit and did a quick 3d mark (looked fine).
So I am guessing the hard drive is the weak link here?
At least I got her past 350 stable.
I will start over tonight and take some more screenshots.

Its stable here. But its not stable if I go any higher, well, it works at 375 but it doesnt at 380, so I decided to leave it at 370.
I dont think the voltage goes high enough to keep her stable at higher FSB's, god knows how the others are getting 400+ on a multiplier locked conroe on this motherboard.
Any suggestions? cos a 400fsb stable would be my ultimate goal.
The more I think about it, the more I should have wasted an extra £15 and bought the Asus p5WDH jobbie, with all its working sensors etc and better voltage settings, cos I cant use anything on Windows x64 that recognizes the sensors on this motherboard. so its a blind alley job.
If it is an immature bios, then I do hope something new comes out.
But from what I am led to believe, MSI are not really concerned about overclocking limits, and the hardware is not capable of handling extra volts, guess the multi-phase power regs/caps in the Asus and Gigabyte are whats needed, a simple bios fix might not cut it.
Oh well, I'm waiting for the Nvidia chipset Conroe board to come out! Thats what I really want!

The model at Ewiz is the AA model which doesn't support Conroe. The AB model at Newegg does. Of course, it costs more:(
Um I'm almost vertain your looking at the wrong board or something. there are people in here who got there board from eWiz and it supports conroe. I'm not going to take the time to check and link for you but the board says it is conroe ready right on there site and is a rev 2.0b or something like that.Quote:

Anyone know why MSI DualCore Center wont stop beeping like freaking crazy?
It looks to me that it has something to do with the vcore reading since it flashes 0.00 even though it is at stock.
I am using DC Center because it seems like the only program that is realistically showing my temps.
Also you might notice it reads my fsb as 88.
I am at complete defaults in bios except for speed step disabled and my ram is set to its correct speeds. and I have my fsb at 350.
also in cpuz it is always quickly going back from 8x to 6x mult. even though I have turned off speed step.
but in dualcore center it always shows at 2.8ghz which is what it should be at 8x.
if anyone can help me with some bios settings they think might fix this I would be thankful.

I just got this board up and running. I am formatting my main drive right now.
A couple of issues, at first the POST did not recognize my benq dvd-rw drive yet later it showed up and read the windows disk fine. However my multiplier is at around 55X8multi, I have heard about this issue before though. Anyway will a bios falsh to either 711 or 714 help any? Also, the whole windows XP install is going very slow right now....is this because of the incorrect multiplier?

WHAT A BATTLE! I finally got up and running fine now. Took me a long time to flash the bios to 714 and the Nvidia 84.21 or 91.XX drivers crash when I attempt to configure dualview for 2 LCDs.
Anyway, all seems to be fine. Last thing I need to tweak is my waterblock, I am idling at aroun 64C. So I need to reseat it. I should start OCing tomorrow.
What do you mean by the CPU Ratio option is insignificant? Can you set it to "Normal" and have it adjustable in the BIOS?Quote:
