My Ultra-120 has a big friggin' plate that goes underneath the mobo, so yeah, you'll have to yank the mobo.

To all those with their new DS3's (especially lestat):

Stop talkin' and get clockin'!!!!!!!!! I wanna see some results :)

Looking closely at the pic of the DS3 I notice the power connector for the CPU is located at the top of the board. This might be a no-go for people who have a case like mine (Antec P180) which has the PSU located at the bottom of the case, as the cable will not be able to reach that far up.

ok guys she booted up fine with the F1 bios

1)
how the frick do you use the intel raid or is there only gigabyte raid ?
2)
when updating the bios via q-flash it doesnt do anything
3)
when updating the bios via dos it says bios file size error.... whats wrong ?

someone help me out.

i need the raid,, i mean im not letting my raptors go to waste...

I need a SM bus controller driver for my DS3. Googled and all that's there is old stuff. Nothing on Giga's site.

If I read correctly somewhere in these last 19 pages, there was a chart that showed the DS3 as not supporting RAID

holy crap that NB heatsink gets hotter than hades even on auto... wow wtf..

man i gotta pull that thing off and put on some AS5

got my little fan hotglued to it now lol.

has anyone documented what the voltage increases are in the bios since they only show +.02 03 04 etc etc.
id really like to know wtf voltages i am setting...

read again tallman raid is supported but you MUST use the PURPLE GSATA ports

i need longer sata cables though mine are pulled kinda tight.

gotta have another pc handy to explore the cd and copy the floppy folder to the floppy for the F6 RAID drivers

see im not as dumb as i look lol...

Got my DS3 going tonight with my BS temp celeron. For some reason I can't get CPUZ to show me what speed memory is running no matter what divider I set (any ideas)? I am coming from AMD so this is a bit different. Also, do you need to update the bios from DOS? getting error from win with .bat file. Also, wtf - this celeron is running HOT! like 60c idle.. is this normal for these?

How many mb's other then Asrock don't have them. Yes, it does.

ok wth.... you cant set the ram divider below 1:1 ????? wth ?

im up to 375 FSB 1:1 default/auto on everything. oops cpu is 1.3v cuz i wanted to keep the voltage on the cpu up a little more than everything else so if it puked out i knew that the cpu wasnt the issue.

nothing wrong with 1:1 if your ram can handle it.. and if you are able to actually see what voltages your setting.
i dont like this bios already guys.. no way to see what voltages your using.

im going to peak my ram way before the FSB i think.. this is just elcheapo DDR667. and it doesnt like anything over 2.05v 2.1v gives memtest errors. now if i only know what vdimm i was setting????

anyone install easytune and have it screw up your desktop.

i installed it.. then when it starts the taskbar icon shows up and the easytune program window flashes up and then disappears.. then .. no matter what you do whereveer you click your mouse windows just beeps at you like there is a message window sitting somewhere that you cant see, that is requiring you to click yes or no or something.. but there is no window anywhere.. wtf...
so i guess i cant use easy tune.. ggrrrrrrr
