Damn these are the fastest single cores in the world still. AMD should glue 2 of these together. =P It would take a single core conroe at 3.9ghz to beat this cpu. Well 2 cores don't really matter they just feel like having more speed when thats only reflected in multi tasking so in turn your matching a conroe at 3.9ghz regaurdless of benchmarks. Clock for clock this guy still doing a number on conroe. And this cpu is a year old.
Looks like AMD's doing very well to me.
LOL please how much is FX-57 still? I'm $369 for this E6600 and going to be pushing past 3.6ghz, several people @ 4ghz for conroe blow the doors off this CPU.
How quickly technology changes :-)
Ahh but you forget money doesn't matter to some. 2nd of all your comparing a conroe agenst a 3 year old arc. Sorry but what does that make conroe if its only a 250mhz difference clock for clock? I would not say blow the doors. I'd say more like Its about TIME something cought upto AMD for ONCE in intels life!
How quickly technology changes indeed. Isn't conroe a bit late to go up agenst a 3 year old arc when K8L is on the way and 50% faster then K8's!
Sounds like conroe came out in 2004 in a way consittering K8's came out in 2003. Conroe should be 100% faster then K8's since its 2006. Thats really sad cus its no more over 10-20% and thats only in the 100 and 250mhz line at most.
