Air results from a -100C club member? What is the real vcore and is that your FSB limit?
I'm trying to make the Crossfire work, but for now, it's a no-go, single card seems to work, but as soon as I add the second, windows crashes on loading :(
I've got the board this morning, that's why it's still on air, I'm just learning how it works :D actual vcore is ~1.5v, fsb is bench stable at 265MHz, maybe more...

ive just cut off vid2 & vid3 pins.. tried several pin mod settings and no increase/decrease in voltage
thers gotta be a way of fooling the cpu/mobo to get 1.5v @ default.. in return that should give up to 1.65v in bios..
as u can see im in no mood for a vcore via solder.. last resort

two questions... ^^
V/io voltage are originally how much.?
If MOD, is regulated from voltage that is established in bios..?
ex) Vcore(bios 1.3V) + Vcore MOD(?) = 1.3 + (?)
as you wish......;)Quote:

Yes... let the 3D roll now guys!
cardclocks ?
I've done Vchipset mod...of course by my own method.
hicookie's measure point of Vchipset is not incorrect itself.
But APL5912 is not a controller of FET(Q29).
APL5912 supplies PCI-E voltage, it seems.
Pin3&4 Vout of APL5912 varies according to PCI-E voltage setting in BIOS.
And FET(Q29) is not working for Vchipset but for Vccp.
Vccp is AGTL+ Termination Voltage, described in the Yonah datasheet.
FET(Q29) is drived by ISL6537 with DRIVE2/FB2 pins.
Vchipset is used for input of FET(Q29), as described in ISL6537 datasheet.
Vchipset is supplied from another FETs(Q51,Q52).
FETs(Q51,Q52) are controlled by ISL6612,
and ISL6612 is controlled by ISL6537 with DRIVE3/FB3 pins.
Vchipset is devided with R435&R436 located near South chip,
and the devided voltage is read by FB3.
So, I added 50k-ohm VR between FB3 of ISL6537 and GND.
It works, but higer Vchispet does not contribute for FSB improvement,
at least upto 1.7V with stock heatsink&fan, in my case.
I also tried Vccp, AGTL+ Term. Volt. upto 1.2V, it made no sense too.
Now I removed this VR for Vchipset-mod, but show it FYI;)

There are several potential settings that *might* help to get the FSB, but I post my thoughts in a seperate thread.

maybe your board has a pb, on ocm we had some strange results , apparently some yonah (those with low FSB) are really hotter than those who can reach high FSB.
As you can see FSB increase with cold temp.
There is a relation for sure...
So maybe lower vcore will return with higher fsb? ;)
Hope there's some solution to this so you guys can hit the "big" 4.
on ocm a guy can reach 272 FSB with watercooling and with P4 IHS , no doubt with cascade or LN2 it could do a lot better :)
Why is he using P4 IHS? These cores don't crack as easy as Dothan right?
i don't have one, so i can't compare, it's more safe to use an IHS but probably worse for the temps.
Yeah temp will be lower but as you say it's safer. I wonder how that 280fsb chip reacts with ln2?

How much voltage D9 fatbody chips can handle 24/7? Lets compare to DDR1, say old bh5 3.5V, new UTT 3.3V. These? 2.3V, 2.5V? more?
Guys, have any checked your real/actual vcore???
took my multimeter out.. @ 1.5v in bios/actual 1.48v in bios... im measuring only 1.38-1.40v, under light load goes down to 1.35v.... on Auto voltage its at 1.25v
wat are you guys getting?
@Napalm: which measurepoint do you use?
The one oh hicookie give wrong results for me...
No volts mods stock air.:)
there several points, hicookies is 1 of them but all the points confirm the same voltage.. besides the v regulators there are 2 empty spaces between the 6-in row caps and the v regulators theyr marked like a ZZ<-backward ZQuote:

how high can you go on 3-2-2-8?

with proper voltage, I can reach ~405MHz 3-2-2-2, but it requires 2.5v at least, and I'm too lazy to turn my trimmer :D
(more seriously, I have to try some cas3 benches)

I tried to find some UL but had no luck. I have read this entire thread but I don't remember seeing that you had put your chip on phase. Are you getting the feel of the setup first?
