If PCB and IC are the same, vmod is also the same.

If PCB and IC are the same, vmod is also the same.
Thanks for the reply.
it is the same as the Vmod just do not know where are the points of reading and vgpu vmem, someone can 'tell me?
thanks guys
OK gentlemen, HD 4000 never more, ever.
Mine survived the voltmod (arround 1,36 V just quick look) with stock single-slot cooler just for like a three minutes. I just wanted to have a look at the temperatures before I change cooler and than the image turned off.
One colleauge's card did exactly the same (although he did not do the voltmod) so my opinion is clear - RV770 chips suck hard. My next card will be at least HD 5000 and under a short warranty at least, don't want to throw 40 bucks outta window again.
I have a reference 4870 1GB card. Compared to my 512MB one I have it can't OC the memory for poo. Max I can get is 950-960 before it starts artifacting.
I know most of the 1GB cards don't OC as well as the 512MB counterparts (this is the second 1GB card I've had) so will I see much of a gain by doing a vMEM mod on it (like 1100-1200+ mem)?
Hi, i have a question regarding my old HD3850 which im now trying to put into crossfire with HD4850 i have. 3k series thread seems too old to revive for this question.
Has anyone seen horizontal (not vertical) colored lines on the screen? Havent seen those artifacts before and google isnt helping much. Also bsod follows shortly after getting to windows. Or worse i have nothing on my screen.
Has to be hardware problem. It's now in a different pc, different windows, different drivers. Maybe i should try to bake the card?
I wonder what happened to that card after moving couple thousand km, pc was packed well. No visible damage on the card, it was working well before its trip. Are those symptoms common for gpu, memory or other components failure? (im sort of hoping for latter)
You can't crossfire a 3850 with a 4850

hah stupid mistake :D thanks
Ever heard of those artifacts though? Ive pretty much turned this card down anyway, could do just about anything to it now to get it working... or a key chain from the chip... :)
Try baking it, you've got nothing to lose :)
This is a longshot but does anyone know where the vGPU measure point is for this card ?
Gigabyte Zalman HD4850 512Mb (non reference card)
I have made the mod in the first picture but i did not find anyone telling where to meassure the voltage for this card in this long thread.
Tack :)
So, i did the vmod, problem is that there is OVP, so cant give much more than 100mV before the card goes lalala (0vGPU).
Anyone who can figure out a way around?
Datasheet is here http://www.onsemi.com/pub_link/Collateral/ADP3290-D.PDF
A VID mod should be possible, but requires a lot more work, i guess.
/Thanks
You can use software on that gfx my freind. up to 1.35v meassured to about 1.42v and then hardmod for the rest about 150mv up to 1.57-9v together
It does not look like that it is ove kicking in but only that you cant raise fb more than 150mv othervise you have to do vid mod..
Finally had some time last night, so figured out a VID mod for the 4870 DK :)
OCP mod only gave another 30-40mV headroom.
VID mod is working as it should, tested up to 1.64V@load. Adjusting it with 3 DIP-switches, in 100mV jumps.
For anyone else who might come across this card, here is the mod:

The card is bench stable at 980/1200MHz on 10C water.
Nice work!
