I thought the results looked odd, but if its at least similar to the H70 and D14, then its still a lot better than my current cooler.

ok .... got much work to do .... thanks guys.
and, this card is good for the pci_ex4 ye?
how do i know when to add more ioh volts running 200bclk on stock 1.1 volts
thanks
x1 you mean, and yes if you've got the room for it. though honestly i don't see a need for a soundcard as the onboard chipset audio is more than capable of any gamer or normal use needs... could probably get away with a decent recording settup aswell with the optical out aswell.
getting a sound card to releave stress off the chipset and cpu was something you did back in the day of win95 to the beginings of winXP. but with the power of chipsets and CPUs today it's really not an issue.
honestly i've never needed more than about 1.13-1.15v, 1.13 being the sweet point. as you start to go higher, your display will tend to just shut off on you it seems and it's quite annoying and it's even caused my BIOS to freeze during post.
unless you're running something around 7.5G on the data link i don't think you need to worry about it much. others can correct me if i'm wrong but i found no reason to increase IOH voltage unless qpi data link speeds were 7.5+
well now i have that audio card on my rig, between 3rd & 4th red slot. since i'm about to get a second gpu card and , off course i need to use slot 1/3 i i need space below the 3° pci-ex16x

so i was asking if that audio card could work on the black slot signed in the pic ....
i agree that the integrated audio card is good. but not enough for my ears.
hey, come to think of it, did anyone find out what the PLL ClockGen codec is? i'd like to monitor the behavior between base clock, dram, pci-e and pci with setFSB if it's got the R3E's clockgen.
Yes thats the slot I have my sound card in as well, it leaves you with a 3 slot spacing for two graphics cards like so:

You can also use triple graphics cards in the top 3 slots, and a sound card in the bottom 16x slot, the slot layout is absolutely perfect on this board for running multiple GPUs with a soundcard.
I'll be changing my cooler soon as I mentioned earlier, and I'm going to have to use my Antec tricool fans instead of my silent coolermaster ones to improve airflow for the h2o cooler.
I'm thinking of having the top fan blow inwards to bring in cool air over the radiator and rear exhaust fan. The Triton 88 doesnt work any better with higher RPM fans as I just tried with my earlier results, it still goes over 90 degrees with 4.2 Ghz.
4.2ghz
24x175bclk
3.5ghz uncore
6.314ghz qpi
6gb 2.1ghz memory

In quad-crossfire I think the lanes would be split into x8/x8/x8/x8 so with 3-way SLI, I might get x8/x8/x8 + x8 lane for the last slot if it's occupying a sound card. The X58 has 32 lanes by default without nF200? Specs for the sound card:
Compatible with X1, X4, X8, X16 PCI Express slots
So it would use only X1. What would this do to the 3-way SLI lanes? x8/x8/x8?
EDIT: X58 has 36 lanes according to wikipedia. This would mean that the last slot is x4?
Yay, lovely cooler for just £46:

BIOS 1208 is out:
ftp://ftp.asus.com.tw/pub/ASUS/mb/LG...-ASUS-1208.zip
No changelog.
For some reason I don't like using CPU Tweaker.
That speed you saw is the JEDEC specification or standard of that memory. Don't really know the details but the JEDEC guys say what is the highest official ddr3 module speed. My sticks show the same spec speed, 667MHz (PC3-10700). But that's because our sticks are older. The most up to date ones are officially spec'd to PC3-17000 I believe.
Just flashed to 1208 for a quick check. From the looks of it, it's exactly the same as 1207. No tRL settings . And it also has the same build date as bios 0003, which I thought Bios 1208 was the official version of.
Well anyways, some more memory overclocking :D
(Load)
Vcore 1.263v-1.27v
VTT 1.389v-1.402v
Vdimm 1.508v-1.515v
2085MHz 8-8-8-24-1T-98

CPU Tweaker is primarily a memory tweaking program. It shows you EVERYTHING, and more, that CPUZ shows you, except vCore.
The main difference, and the reason why I like it, is that CPU Tweaker shows you all the information on a single page, instead of broken into several tabs.
The actual speeds that everything is running at is in the "Frequency" section. It also shows the detailed memory information so people can see my exact extended memory timings and use it to help them get high frequency overclocks on memory.
How are you getting tRFC 98 spool? Is it 'auto' ? I can choose 90, then it skips to 100...
I also tried very hard to get 2.1ghz with cas 8, but I couldn't get stability, and my mem is already at 1.65v... I know everyone says that I can set my vDDR to vQPI + .47v, but I've been stopping at 1.65v since I haven't seen any actual Intel documentation supporting the theory...
I did get booted into windows at 2.2ghz with cas 9, but didn't have time to stabilize it last night.
And yes, I'm doing all of this with IC modules with JEDEC 1333, but they are XMP 1600 6-8-6-24-72-1T.
I also took my board up to 217bclk without slow mode yesterday, but that needs more work too...
I still am wondering how to fix the >9gb problem with linx that tanks my Gflops...
Also, can I suggest that people use thumbnails on the forum instead of posting full width pictures? It makes the forum so annoying to read!!!
Yes, Finally the sata option rom has been updated to 10.1.0.1008
which is what "the sata option rom" check in the bios?
in bios, what is the option "Onboard SATA Controller" in the Advanced/Onboard Device Configuration?
thanks ;)
