Nice Alex-Ro, that's what I love to see! P45 is going to have a hard time to beat this board lol. x38 and x48 pfff.
Commando and UT P35 FTMFW.

I am soo glad I got the UT P35 after hearing posts like that. I was wondering if I made a wrong choice in not waiting for the later models, I guess not!
The X38 onwards are geared more towards Quad cores. The P35 is only the right choice if you are using Dual cores.
bah, and here I am using a Quad core too...
The P35 is the right choice whatever dual or quad.I remember q6600 reached pretty easy 500+ fsb in this board.Still i am going to test the p45 and then decide which one is better :)
Not really stable ,i said just for benching.
Yea I had mine at 468mhz and even that was really pushing it. Stable, but barely. I really don't think I could have gone higher as I was already at 1.6v for both chipset and VTT and had to tweak GTL's like a mofo just to get it to do what it did.
This board really is holding up despite a lot of newly released boards. :D
Alex, if you don't mind me asking, what are your settings for VTT, NB and gtls?
I can get 600fsb with set fsb but only validate up to 595.

Did you need to loosen any memory subtimings?
I've got this board, had since the beginning of the year, Still havnt learnt how everything works i.e the memory section is mission to understand. I have still yet to find a write up on how each option works Definition etc. I know Amandtech have a full review there but its not enuf.
Can this board do 600FSB from bios to windows..... I'm at 560FSB so far on mine.
It might be an idea to get the Commando aswell for higher FSB
Ta
I have booted 595 ~ 605fsb into windows & run there all day whilst jerking around with an E8400 so I’m sure it can be done.
I have blown 3 x 45nm chips & degraded 3 x 45nm chips on this board whilst messing about benching for fun & had actually given up trying to push 45nm chips on this board until BIOS 0317 came out.
I know I'm probably going to get shot in the face for saying it but any BIOS before 0317 IMHO is not really safe to use with the 45nm CPU's over about 525fsb.
I have only booted up to 570 x 7 with 0317 (I am using 4GB of RAM that stop at 1140mhz) & don’t know if it will do 600+ fsb or not.
I have had a few Commandos which admittedly make mhz real easy but don’t come anywhere close to the DFI for voltage control & GTL tweaking which really is what you need to be tweaking for 600+ stable/benchable fsb.
Sure I've seen plenty of quick Commandos here but you got to find a golden one. My DFI will do 600fsb out of the box on air with no volt mods & it'll re-boot & do it over & over again it really is an amazing board.
Good luck
CN.
Doobs, same here - boots at about 580-590 then can move rest in setfsb once in windows. That's what I've seen most of these do - boot max 590 then up to 615+ once in windows - all on air. Can't remember what I've seen it do under ln2.
So Alex-Ro, and C-N what were your VTT/NB and GTL settings to validate or run 1m over 600fsb? I'm stuck at 595.
Don't think I've ever validated a dual core its not really my bag I like what I can use more than shooting for the stars.
VTT & GTL's have been different for every CPU I've tried. I've never really needed more than 1.5v VTT & 50 ~ 62 on the GTL's on any of my CPU's.
Strange as it may sound I find 2 things that effect NB voltage on my board are number/size of hard drives & vdimm. For benching & messing about I usually use 1 or 2 small drives & find once I have it stable that I need a fair bit more NB voltage when I add another 2 ~ 3 drives into the mixer. I can also run lower vdimm by running higher nb voltage & vice versa.
Generally I have needed between 1.45 ~ 1.65 vNB depending on how I set things up to reach 600fsb.

Oh great thanks CN, mr cape and zsamz_
CAn you guys tell me voltage range of the each setting for my E8400, also GTL's can one you guys please be so kind to help out on the GTLs
This is what im asking aswell, thought i would quote this from mrcapeQuote:

What range would i look for with the 3 GTLs and also VTT you guys havnt seen it to make your pc unstable.
Also Can someone supply me with a linky to a good bios like the one mentioned above for overclock to 600FSB
Thanks sooo much guys
My BIOS

Doobs - I'm on the most recent here -
DFI BIOS
But I think 3/17 version was just as good if not better. Only diff I noticed was that the may version seemed to send a tad more vcore with the same exact setting I had in bios with 3/17.
C-N - Geez, now you're really adding some funk into the mix! GTLs diff from CPU to CPU seems it might make sense as many people's suggested GTLs don't work at all for me. I need to set mine very low, even as the VTT and NB scale up. Over 500fsb, it's instant bluescreen if my gtls are wrong. mine work well from 58 - 63 for the full range of VTT and NB. For 24/7 500fsb - VTT 1.15 / NB - 1.42 / GTLS 59 59 59 and that is rock stable in OCCT and Orthos for me. When I get up over 580FSB it all needs a couple bumps.
About the drives, haha, I will do a compare with one fresh xp/raptor and see how it goes.
Thanks Guys, well i was just testing now, i left my GTLs on stock, VTT on Stock, bumped CPU to 1.4v NB to 1.57v and Ram to 2.35v i can get into windows t 570FSB but after a short while is freezes. All memory settings on auto aswell.
How should i go about working with the GTLs . set them low like mrcape and then see how they go from there, coz what mrcape said happens to me, anything from 1.3v VTT i get BSOD, and also like if i set my GTLs to all 100 and my FSB is like 540FSB also BSOD...
Im running watercooling and its nice cold air coming through my window so i would think temps are well in their range for 600FSB, got a fan blowing over my NB heatsink also ram has fans on them aswell.
Any ideas.
has this board been discontinued its impossible to find in stock in the UK
will be forced to keep the more expensive DFI x48 and i have no use for the 2x16 PCI-E
