kind a strange, you have tried to check rams stability?
450 FSB should be easily done whit this chip and proper board, Dont feed too much VTT and vNB, it should be possible to find proper values under 1.3 on both.

Yea, ram is stable at 1066, its OCZ reaper, and for over i am underclocking it to 900mhz (1:1), but i tryed to do 440mhz and 1066 on mem to.
My cpu have to do 3.8 with 1,25v, it have done on another board, but i cant do the same here.
I tryed 450fsb with less than 1,3v on vtt, and give me errors on boot.
when i could go in, i tried to raise the vNB to give me stabilty, but i cant.
using mult 6x or 7x for the tests, and vcore enough to it.
PLL i am using between 1,54 and 1,56.
I am almost giving out and willing try to change the board.
Mine seems to very. I had mine set to Performance which is default for mine. I think this might change based on what CPU you have "not sure about that at all though". Any way mine sets it self to performance but, at one point mine didn't agree with performance and I set it to Compatible and it liked this one then after doing some work, I cleared the CMOS and now it is set to performance again and it has been fine again....... The optimzed for me did not agree with my CPU at all though that is for sure, I actuallt received blue screen mesing with that one so..... I think this is deffinately your issue though or, like I said your BIOS revision is one of the many bad ones they put out "Asus". Deffinately one of the two.
480x10 fsb mem/MHZ 9XX 5-5-5-12/15 2.3v:up: 11XX:down: 1204 5-5-5-18 2.38v:up:
to 480x10 fsb =1.28/1.34v = NB .an 5??+x8,5= 1.52/1.56v to NB, big Jump in volt set
i will try to change the CME, and will download a new bios.
I am using latest 1406, i tested with 1403m e 0803m also.
@Martin, i didint understand what you mean, sorry. (i dont know english very well).
480x10 you need 1.28/1.34 and to 8,5 you need 1.52/1.56 with same processor and setup?
The 0,5x mult make it weird?
Yes it is, then he needs to see if the different settings make a difference.

resolved: I've got a PSU compatibility issue.
Hi, I need help for this system:
Boot with Vista is impossible.
What BIOS parameters are recommended?
Vista Ultimate 64 SP1
Intel C2 Quad Q9550
Mushkin High Performance 2x4Gb DDR2 PC2-6400 5-4-4-18 996654
Asus p5Q Deluxe 1406
Dell UltraSharp 2709W REV A01
Seagate Barracuda 500Gb SATA2
Corsair HX620W
Noctua NH-U12P
Cooler Master CM-690
GeForce 9500GT
Windows Vista Ultimate 64 SP1
Windows XP 32 SP3
I see you are on 1406 so same thing as the guy above. I bet you need to set your Computer Margine Enhancement option to one that your cpu likes. There are only three options for it so, just see if one of them acts better then the others. Unless you are having some kind of other issue.. but, the way you word it sounds like cme option issues.
Hi there guys, i'm running a Asus P5Q Deluxe with an E8500 E0 and struggling to get it past 4ghz, can anyone help me out with what to set in the bios( maybe someone has the same mobo and chip)
Thanks
I have an 8400 E0 and I too have to run chip at 1.4 vcore in BIOS in order to get it stable at 450x9. I've tried everything to get it past that: lower multi, lower voltages, higher voltages, suicide volts, lower temps... Either board or the chip is dud so I'll have to live with it. I hope you get your chip higher but sometimes you just get a bad chip to begin with :(
New bios out ftp://ftp.asus.com.tw/pub/Asus/mb/socket775/P5Q_Pro/
ASUS P5Q Deluxe flash back to 0803 from org:1406/I test Ket mode bios 1406:down:
bios 0803/1306 run whit lover cpu power;) high fsb
best to Xtrem overclock is bios org:bios 0803/1306:)
I couldn't use 1306 at all... 0803
for those of you that havent figured it out yet....
there are multiple combinations of bios options that can either work or not work together. changing one option at a time aint gonna cut it on these boards. even changing pairs of options may not cut it. sometimes it takes three or even four combinations of options to get something to work. this includes passing that "FSB wall" that all most owners eventually hit @ 450 or 500fsb.
and of course in typical Asus fashion.... there are bios options that do absolutely nothing :shakes:
For my, the best one is 1406:
