i'm wondering, why my gpu does 30000 and more points on the vantage... is that because i'm running the gpu at 980/990mhz? on the performance i get 7646P .... is that ok?!

So doesn anyone know when the Marvell Controller update is coming? Is there a way to force flash the controller?
I guess spoolin' was just a bit amazed that you appeared to expect to score similarly in 2 totally different graphics benchmarks.
Everywhere people have been posting about how low they are scoring in '11 vs vantage/06 etc and asking why etc, because they are used to scoring high in outdated benchmarks with new hardware. He just thought you'd have seen it is all.
i've read again my post ..... wasn't clare, btw i tought that when i said P7646 would understand that i was talking about the 3dmark2011
& spoolin didn't get what i've asked! .....
Seriously my post got deleted? Lol it was THAT bad? Haha I have seen worse BS being said in this thread but MY comment gets removed. Okay.
Whoever did it at least have the balls to explain why and own up to it. Why no PM explaining the reason? Get one very quickly if I'm trying to sell something and don't follow guidelines
BTW I understood what you were asking very clearly. Exactly like Cryptik said you are one of those people on the net wondering why you are scoring so low in 3d11 compared to vantage. Anyways, Cryptik is right on point. I'm seriously amazed by how little people know in regards to what they are doing. I think a serious overclocker should know or at least be able to figure out these type of things. When 3dmark 11 was released I already expected to score lower than I did in Vantage.
This. I just spent the entire weekend trying to just install Windows, I didn't know about this infamous problem until about 40 mins ago. It's been nothing short of a nightmare, I wanted to kick my new rig through the wall. I thought it was me being stupid or something, and come to find out... Sigh... :(
BTW - Have a Rampage III Gene, but still the same issue.
Apparently the next BIOS should address this issue is what I've heard, but Asus is very late fixing this problem. Other companies have had it covered for months now. Having the Gene, you should expect a BIOS after the R3E BIOS is released.
Typical Asus though, seems like "do a lot of things badly" is their motto these days. I think I can speak for everyone when I say I wish they'd do less, but do it well. I don't want 50 motherboards for each socket, I want a few to choose from, but with good support. To have a ROG product lag so far behind the competition shows they are just stretched too thin and can't focus.
You are right.
The 1,65 V warning is programmed if you don't touch the Vqpi (alias Vtt) but if you keep Vram-Vqpi less than 0.47 V, you are in a safe region.
If you have 1.35 V Vqpi, you can go up to 1.82 on Vram without any risk to destroy memory controller of cpu.
I bought some Mushkin Ridgeback Redline 3x2GB 1600mhz 6-8-6-24-72-1T to see if I can go higher with less dense memory.
Hopefully it will be here wednesday!
Agreed. I'm pissed that I have a $2500 paperweight if I wanted to use the SATA 6Gb. When I get home tonight I might try to load up on the Intel controller, but after seeing Gigabyte and MSI corrected the problem for their boards back in OCTOBER.... there's no reason we should still be waiting.
The guys over @ BIOS-Mods may be able to help though. I'll have to compile a list of stuff to post over there. Looks like the only source for the updated Marvell firmware by itself is some French website, www.station-drivers.com. Never heard of them though.
Ive been using Station Drivers for over half a decade now and nobody beats them at getting drivers first, even at times I find drivers posted WAY BEFORE the manufacturer can get them posted (Hint Hint @ Intel). Ghostleader, the OP of this thread has been giving us links to Station Drivers (bottom of post #1) ever since the creation of this thread. Its in French and sometimes difficult to manage (thanks to the fine print and awful translations, lol) but its the first place I go for updated drivers/bios's.
Can't we just update the firmware ourselves? Or do we need to wait for Asus to do it? The latest firmware for the 9128 was released a month ago today according to SD. Id love to see what my two C300's would do on the new Marvell firmware/drivers. They feel fantastic on ICH10R so I never used the marvell controller for very long.
Any one tried the new 1207 bios?
I have some problems with my board and a 970 that cant go past 178 mhz blck without crashing all the time.
I haves tested the cpu in another board and the cpu did 252 mhz blck max so was hoping that this bios will fix my problem.
I had no issues with the 970 over 235Bclock ( no slow mode ) and bios 0704
Whoa, ordered memory on saturday, and it arrived here today!
Now posting with 3x2GB 1600MHz 6-8-6-24-72-1T! Uncore at 2x! ~77GFlops.
Dropped QPI from 1.35 to 1.3v and it's still happy!
1207 bios
The two issues i had was it messed my ram up running 2,000mhz. And the second one as you mentioned my higher bclk running seemed to just go away also. Just got another board for testing, so i shall see what this one does.
Wy the 1600 and not the 2k
Stock settings on this mem:

Thats ok, but my Geils do 1600 Mhz @ 6-7-6-18-72-1T with 1.59v Dram, and 1.275v QPI with 6 modules :p
I just tried some low CPU voltage testing, my CPU is stable at 3.8 Ghz @ 1.225v, but its still pure crappage at 4.0 or 4.2 Ghz (needs 1.3375, and 1.3875v for those).
I'm gonna leave it at 3.8 Ghz while I wait for the I7 970 price to reduce some more.
Anyone looking to upgrade to the new R3BE? I see it's available now for around $600. Hefty price :$. Well I guess it's because of the dedicated sound card and headphones.
Good to know! I'll add them to my "save" list. :)
But that's exactly what I'm wondering. Station Drivers has the BIOSes/firmware for both Intel AND Marvell, in addition I've seen a guy on here named Mr. Toad that also posted on there and apparently had some luck with the Marvell part. I haven't heard back from him about his direct experience though. I don't want to wait "two weeks" a.k.a. indefinitely.
