I can get 10x multi stable on my chip but if I lower the multi I can not get the chip/board stable at higher speeds. I'm pretty sure its the chip, too because I can boot at 420or even 450 no problem, but if I Try to load the cpu it crashes. Either way, if I want to OC a quadcore Yorkfiled I'll need faster memory, but who knows what kind of fsb clocks will be possible with the Q9450.
I think I might order those Crucial 1066. The Reapers look good too, but I think the heatpipes might get in the way of my OCZ fan. Can anyone confirm this?
I'm going to takesome time this weekend with OCCT and some voltage graphs to see where my lower multi, higher fsb OCs are failing.

hi guys, i have this nice mobo with an E6850 and OCZ FlexXLC PC2-9200 on it.
i'm looking for a daily use config, and actually it seems to be stable on 3.8Ghz (475x8) with 1.40Vcore, and with ram on 5:6 570mhz at stock Vdimm.
temps of the cores are both 60°C after 4hours of OCCT, while it is 25°C in idle.
but i want to ask if i have to worry about the 1900mhz Rated FSB that comes out with this config.
well, depends on what you want to worry about..whether it has an effect on the board's longevity, whether it affects ram life or cpu life..you need to be a bit clearer...
BUT FYI, I run the same clocks. If something dies..well..it dies...60c should be fine, anyway.
Get a regular Maximus Formula and I'll gladly sell you my mobo's fusion block cooling solution. :)
I have two MCW30's on both chipsets. To be honest with you guys, the best cooling solution for this board is water. Intel didn't put an IHS on that northbridge for nothing; and my southbridge sometimes gets warmer than my northbridge so I'd highly recommend water for anyone looking to clock into the high fsbs on this board; well, unless you wanna freeze your ass by cracking the window all the time.

Getting some random reboots only on a cold boot.
907 might not be the one.
Only happens once, after the pc reboot again its fine all day. If I turn it off for a few hours and start it up it will reboot on Vista loading / login.
Happend on 802 but only at high FSB.
I dialed back to 8x425 to see if it would help but its still there on cold boot.
Very frustrating......

i installed the new 0907 BETA bios, but that CRAP bios wont even boot with my 3.4Ghz clock.
so, i tried to installed my 0901 bios, but i get a message that, i have a newer BIOS installed, so it wont let me install it! WHAT the F*** i that?
i wanna decide myself what bios i wanna have!!!
i am desperate here!
i never had any problem to install a older biso version..
so can you tell me how i reset to stock bios??

well, i finally managed to flash my bios BACK to 0901, using Asus update.
never 0907 again.

0907 has been the best for me so far!!! Bios feels very solid, no issues what so ever!!!
I definately lost stability going to 0907. It might just not like my chip
0907 changes the required voltage on the NB, SB, and FSBT for me. I bumped all of them up 1 notch and was all stable again. All other settings were left alone.
I had the opposite for 907.
used the exact same settings from 802 and NO problems I even lowerd vcore
NB SB and FST all stayed the same PLL had to go up 1.
907 is stable for me accept for the cold boot issue but I had that on 802
Well I loaded 0907 and STILL can't get my system to POST over 400......WTF. I think it has something to do with my memory......as I can POST with one stick of my el cheapo RAM.....ugh.
I recently added a Dtek fuzion block to the mix.....but I guess it really doesn't matter because I can't OC past 3.6. I dunno man, I liked my P5K Deluxe better for CPU OCing....I could run 450 FSB with 4 DIMMs no sweat. Maybe I just have a bad board for OCing?
I Had the same CPU and memory on that P35 board......agh I can't believe it.
On a more positive note the new BIOS allows me to power cycle on no POSTs using the PSU switch rather than having to clear the CMOS like I used to.
