No issues so far with CPU voltage on automatic.
its found in the dram timing page. its setting having values having upto over 70. :D
Well the n00b has arrived.... I just finished building my system DFI Lanparty LT P35-T2R and when i booted up the first time I check BIOS and was a bit confused on the CPU speed and Memory speed
BIOS
Processor is Q6600 G0 and memory is Crucial Ballistix Tracer DDR2-800 4-4-4-12
I don't believe the Q6600 should be running a 7x multiplier, shouldn't that be 9x? The memory is running at 1.9 volts and I forgot to double check the processor voltage.
Here is the info I got when I started running Memtest86+
Memtest
What the heck is the computer doing? Shouldn't it be running stock on first boot? I think the RAM should be running 2.2 volts... argh I am so confused... :(
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
The Q6600 should be running at a 6 x multiplier if C1E is enabled under CPU options. It will rise up to a 9 x multi when there is CPU load. If you are talking about in the BIOS then just change it to 9 x and call it a day. The RAM voltage may not need to be 2.2 v if you aren't running it at it's rated speed. You've got to remember that you now have a DFI motherboard and they need some attention. If the system fails stress tests at the settings the BIOS defaults to then just change them to settings that don't fail.:D
You don't need to have a fixed multi and voltage. In the past, you either had auto vcore, which would automatically drop the vcore if c1e/speedstep were enabled. And if you set a vcore manually, it wouldn't drop. If you use something that keeps vcore at auto, but still increases you can have C1E enabled and still have voltage change. That is what I am doing right now for 3.6 stable, when not in use, it drops to 2.7 (6x). I have my OC multi set to 8x for a higher FSB.
So basically I need to set vcore to auto and use the % adjustment over the stock and enble c1e to make this work?
Does vtt voltage stay set manually or does it go back to auto to change with the other volts as the multi changes?
Sorry if this has already been covered. I stopped reading this thread daily after I got a stable oc I was happy with. Around page 118 or 120 I think!
Wow when I enable vdroop (per saint-francis sig) with ce1 I get a quick bsod when priming. With out vdroop she primes for a few hours (longest I have run so far). I will let it run overnight.
Hi guys, beta bios 5/02 has now been re-named to 5/21. No clue what else is changed as it is still using the same description from the 5/02 bios. Anyone care to flash and share?

What would you guys say a good BIOS for some wolfdale action be?
I have *gasp* 9/13...
Yep
You probably want to set the VTT manually.
I don't really understand this. When you have vdroop set to enable you get a BSOD and when you have it set to disable you don't? Apparently you have to have a fairly solid OC to use C1E. And I do notice that I need to set the special add a little higher when setting vdroop control to enabled but it all pans out in the end because the voltage will droop a little under load and with C1E it drops proportionally with the multi. I have easily run my system right up to 3.9 using this method without ever touching GTL settings.
The vDroop option is opposite of what it sounds like. Disabled removes the vDroop, enabled leaves the mosfets to control as they should.
Thanks for the responses. I let it prime for 12hours with the vdroop disabled with no errors! I was able to lower vtt and chipset voltage as well! Not sure why or how that worked out because when I first got the oc stable prime would fail if lowered either or both of those settings. Weird but good because now I can keep my oc the same thru the summer! 3400@ 1.34v bios - 1.32 windows.
But like I said earlier, with vdroop control enabled you will need to set a higher voltage, BUT, the resulting droop under load will most likely balance this.
Yes, this what I am doing. On the 12-24 bios enabling vdroop actually disables it.
Thanks for your help! I was wondering about doing this for the summer since the only time I load all four cores to the max is when I do some video encoding.
whats the diference of dfi lp ut p35, x38?
tried the 05/21...seems to be more stable than 05/02...especially on my wolfdale (sorry for my bad batch e8400)

Thanks for the test emoners. If this thing contains the later sata raid rom bios I would try it, otherwise it isn't worth getting off Praz' modded 3/17 which contains this updated rom as it plays well with my drives.
Beta Bios 0521 seems to read VCore and CPU VTT higher than set in the bios :
CPU : 1.2325V (bios) = 1.248V under load in windows
CPU VTT : 1.21 (bios) = 1.23V in windows. 1.25V VTT even reads 1.28V, according to Smartguardian.
Still having massive problems with my X3350 though.
I still can't seem to resolve the problem (after 1 week of trying).:(
Maybe the board has become flaky and it's time to look out for something else.
Guys i need some help pls .. After updating to 0521 i decided that is time come back to 317 (i had some stability issues) , but during the Winflash update it stops at 61% ..passed 30 min and no activity.. I have a bios chip from a p965-s do u think i can use that to boot and reflash my bios?? Pls help..
PS : My system was not oc during the update.. all stock
well i could hotflash it myself if the p965 wasn't broken.. I appreciate u're offer but i'm in europe so that could be kinda hard & long, but tx anyway.
I remembered that i have a friend at work who can write this kind of chips (flashing device) so its all ok but i can't w8 till tomorrow :D
