Cheers
There is an F13k on the Giga site
Any others floating about?
i have tried the f13q and was also able to compare it from f12 the difference is f12 was giving better OC results with lower voltages..f13 allows me to add 2 notches up on the same setting on f12..also a noticeable points on vantage with f13q also in super pi a nano second cut from a f12 run for the price of 2 voltage notches up..
anyone on the same boat??will try the f9's if they can give the same noticeable increase from f13q..
PS:i did not have any USB keyboard probs on the F12..maybe a minor glitch or sumthin..
hello, would anybody be so kind to post a stable config for 24/7 rig [ex58 extreme/i7-920-D0/3x2g-exceleram]
10ks
As in my sig I have 6GB RAM installed. It was showing 6GB yesterday... anyone have any idea why the BIOS and windows reports only 4GB now? CPU-z and CPU tweaker both show 6GB
Voltages? BIOS bug? (I'm on F12)
Edit: Put 6GB of Geil Ultra in instead and it works like a charm.. go figure
Hey all, Its been some time since I last posted. I am currently trying some different bioses with my new i7 970. So far I have not seen any performance gains or voltage differences to really speak of. with the f9 bios it will allow me to overclock my 1600mhz ram to 1800mhz. f13m just crashes. All I need to do is leave my voltage for the ram on auto and it will pull whatever it needs. When it gets colder outside I will continue to push this chip. I am currently running vantage at 4.5 ghz with 1.4125 vcore volts. qpi volts are at 1.335. I was doing 4.525 with less volts I think around 1.4. But my max cpu temps were 52 degrees. Now with my rad inside I will see max temps of around 80. This will force me to use more volts. This chip rocks
I just moved from F7 to F13q. So far everything works well, but the computer would boot loop if I overclocked it even 1 MHz using the Auto memory settings I used in F7. Now that I have specified the memory timings it seems more stable than ever. With F7 my OC had creaped down to 161 MHz due to occasional random errors. So far with F13q it works fine at 167MHz (4.01 GHz). I'm temped to keep pushing it.
How do you guys gather those snazzy BIOS setting printouts? Do you type them in manually or is there a way to extract them? Yes, I tried searching.
thanx for link. do they list changes for the beta bios? i have F13J on my board and am curious as to what changes were made and so forth.
Not touched my system in a while, but just got my hands on some Kingston HyperX T1's.
A couple of questions:
1 - Whats the best BIOS around for the EX58-UD5 (currently on f9e)??
2 - Anyone have some example settings for getting this RAM stable at 2000ghz whilst getting my chip to 4.2ghz (with Turbo on so 20 x 200)?
Thanks in advance
To get RAM at 2000 you must set uncore speed @ 4000mhz, but require more v-qpi volt for run stable!
Around 1,35/1,45v
For the timings you can load XMP profile
Andrea what kind of memory are you using to get that high of a settings?
Hello guys.
I can't seem to find any thread about gigabyte ga-x58a-ud5 Rev. 1, so is it okay to ask in this thread?
if it is, i will ask you about what BIOS is the best for Rev. 1?
and when will the new X58A-OC board be out?
best regards.
Anyone have tried the latest F13t ???
I am wonder if is any better then the others F13 in OC.
F12's give me some USB (mouse) issues.
I randomly get a similar problem regarding my Roccat Kone mouse, though it works fine on startup but it will just stop working sporadically forcing me to pull the plug out and put it back to get it to work again!?
No other USB item I use causes the same problem......BIOS issue maybe?
Hello guys, ive been trying to get my i7 920 C0 stable @ 4ghz with no luck, even trying lots of different volts, and playing with the settings, so im stuck at 3.8ghz (stable only with turbo, so its basically 3.6ghz) :shakes:
This are my settings,
CPU Clock Ratio ................................ [21x]
Intel(R) Turbo Boost Tech .................. [Enabled] - Disabled & Enabled depends what i test, with enabled im stable, but i want to get at least 3.8ghz without turbo, and my goal is 4ghz without it.

I got 6GB ram, and GA-EX58 mobo..BIOS is F12, and btw my temps are fine even with crazy high vcore 1.45 i get like 78 max after 5/6 mins or Prime, before it crash that is.
Now when i test OCCT i get error on linkpack tests, after 5/6 mins, on 3.8ghz without turbo. On 3.9/4ghz prime95 testing i get BSOD 101 or 124 which as far as i know low or incorrect voltage, so i try to set many different numbers (even 1.45 vcore/vtt but all failed, the only stable option for me is 3.6ghz with turbo on (3.8) so any help will be highly appericated
P.S. Is the f12 still the "best" BIOS for this mobo? if not what you suggest?
When I had my C0, I had to turn hyperthreading off to get to 4.00GHz at a reasonable votlage.
My only other suggestion is to turn LLC (Load Line Calibration) on as it reduces the vdroop you experience when the CPU is put under heavy load. You should be able to lower your Vcore in the bios.
I know what you mean in regards to running 4 less threads than the CPU is able to provide. It was the reason I sold my 940 for the current 920 D0 I run now. In all honestly, having HT on at 4 GHz hasn't made my PC "feel" any quicker, but it was just something I wanted to do.
You should be able to hit 4.00GHz and drop your vcore considerably with HT off, maybe to around 1.275V - 1.300V in the bios (with LLC enabled) depending on your chip.
